Ps, theres a pretty good series on Netflix called "Turn". 4 Seasons. Set in the mid 1770's. It's a historical drama centered on the backstory of intelligence gathering, spying and loyalties in the Revolutionary war. A good deal of different and historically correct units and uniforms appear in the show as well as the portrayal of some real events.
The Canadian units did exist and were noted for being very good troops and fighters. The units were raised in the American belief that Canada, Canadians were in the same boat as the Americans in seeking independence from the crown. That did not bare out over time, but there were many Canadians who did feel that way, sympathized with the Americans ideology and volunteered to fight as part of the Continetal Army. I hope we get the 3rd Dragoons/light cavalry Regiment led by William Washington, George's cousin, in the game. They were an excellent unit, one of the US Cavalry's best units. William Washington was noted as an aggressive tactician and smart officer. The Royal Marines have a very storied uniform, worth looking up. The US Marines based their earliest uniforms on the Royal Marines. Where are the Hessians!? I'm excited to try this game. Thanks.
Finally, a Canadian Regiment! HUZZAH! It wasn't until 1867 that Canada became it's own nation and got it's own flag later. The Patriot brought me here.
For anyone interested the 2nd Canadian regiment was one of two regiments during the war made up originally of mostly Canadians (most of them being from Quebec) it was one of the few regiments controlled by congress and not a state and after the war most settled in New York
The marines weren't called "Royal" Marines until the 1802 during the Napoleonic Wars. During this time, they were known as His Majesty's Marine Forces, which is why they had white facings instead of blue.
The Canadians were exiles and basically the revolution had some supporters in Canada. We actually invaded Canada in the revolution to try get them to join us and be the 14th colony.
10th Foot looks more like a Pioneer than a Lightbob. Shorter bearskin and Black leathers 'Royal Marines' weren't Royal in the AWI hence no blue facings yet..they were indeed white faced but didn't recieve their 'Royal' title until the Napoleonic period
When the Light Company man from the 10th somehow has a surplus bearskin cap but the 23rd Fusilier is wearing a cocked hat as if that Regiment ran out of bearskins.
The 10th reenactment group out of Lexington don't wear black, it's all white. Not quite sure why he said they wore black in the early part of the war. They wore white when the marched on to Lexington
Is it just me or the soldier in the thumbnail looks like the soldier in dead man tell no tells when he tells jack sparrow which way he wants to die for his execution?
The uniforms are very detailed and look great but the officer swords you 2 held for most of the video look well. . .over long and like they have had much less work put into them. The animation when you was stabbed was very nice and took a lot of work. Are bonuses going to be a part of fighting in actual lines going to be a thing like in holdfast with its newest update? Very curious as to how many people per battle is going to be your target number and also how your muskets are going to feel in actual gameplay. Wouldn't remove the melee attack for flags as flag bearers were known to use them as a improvised spear in actual combat. Do look forward to the release of this game and thank you both for taking time out of your days to showcase the game so far.
@@CorkeyPlays in regards to everyone being the same and skill is what separates is a good concept and true for many games but for this type genre leads to forming lines to be discouraged simply because people will "rambo" and pick the lines apart from range in relative safety simply because of musket mechanics. Solo players are a much smaller target then a line of troops and at a distance the smaller target is much more likely to get kills and a higher score by simply aiming in the general direction of a line of players and scoring hits while being almost virtually impossible to hit themselves. Some buffs like a line being lead by an officer and standing shoulder to shoulder granting an aim bonus and musicians playing music granting a further aim bonus tends to lead to encouraging forming lines and the type of gameplay this genre should be ie. Team based and cooperation. Seen this in other games of the same genre and unless it's people running events on private servers where rule breakers are slain typically seeing an actual line is exceedingly rare and often torn apart very quickly and matches being lost due to reinforcements running out. How do you plan to address "Rambo"ing and encourage revolutionary war style combat?
I know this is a bit memey, but I bet a lot of people would be intetested in watching the storming of area 51 in men of war, if that is even possible- naruto running obviously not so much
