@@toddzilla I was sending alerts from a remote ship back to shore via text file. I got the alert data from Zabbix using Zabbix-Gnomes which uses the Zabbix API. That system no longer works, and I was looking for a cleaner method. This export might be easier.
This is amazing I've recently been challenged with trying to get zabbix data into ELK without playing with experimental functionality or messing with trending and historical data in zabbix. I was using grafana but it would be really nice to ship this data to kafka -> logstash. Thanks pointing this functionality out.

what happens to the .old file later when the main file becomes 50Mb again? would Zabbix create multiple indexed .old files like .old1, old2 etc.?
