- The new Toyota Venza Should've totally been a Lexus model with very minor improvements needed.
This new model has nothing to do with the previous Venza model and is a total hidden gem if you want a classy and good car in the old school fashion of good.
The New Toyota Venza is truly a hidden gem. I really like the fact that Toyota didn't ruin it with some sport model because this car is not meant for that.
I truly like the interior and how well it's designed! In this video we'll take a look at what makes the Toyota Venza such a good model and why I think this should've been a Lexus Model

I hope Toyota is paying this man for making these videos. I'm not even in the market for a new vehicle but I watched the whole video and now want one of these Venzas! Great job 👍🏼
He is good. I could go to sleep listening to his descriptions.
I hope so! Then he might be able to afford a pair of trousers that fit!😁
I was thinking of rav4 now I'm thinking venza
@@josephriley4460 Those are work pants and fit just right. In case you haven't noticed he's wearing a work uniform.
lol ... I thought the same. Now I want one!
just a minute of silence for the perfect monologue this guy just gave on this video. totally natural, super clear, very informational but personal at the same time. I would buy or listen to learn anything this guy explains or tells me.
I have a 2010 Venza I love it especially if you have children and like to go camping large trunk
Never broke down with it, drove cross country from Seattle to Tampa
I took it in the mountains I snow and ice and no problem I am 74 and I trust this car
Just bought a 2024 Venza Limited with the stargazer roof for my wife. Made in Japan. Took about 2 1/2 months to get the Titanium Glow paint with Boulder interior. Just beautiful. Took a nice long drive today. Very nice. Quiet. Smooth. Awesome sound system. Bonus: under MSRP . . . winning!
quiet ? he said it was not quiet on the hwy ?
Quiet is so subjective. Only help I can give you is a couple of comparisons. Had a 2016 Mazda CX3 GT. That was a hwy noisy ride. Couldn't enjoy the radio or phone at all. Have a 2023 Rav4 Prime. Can enjoy the radio and talk on phone easily, but there is some tire noise depending on the hwy surface. The Venza is way quieter than either of the prior two. Can converse, listen to music, use the phone easily. It's quiet enough that when on the phone the caller doesn't know you are in the car on the phone. Hope that helps.@@whoahorseywhoa4685
@@whoahorseywhoa4685 Its still very quiet, just not as quiet as a modern lexus. Lexus' are known for being some of the quietest vehicles made, so its a really high standards he is holding it to.
I really love mine. I bought a 2024 Venza Limited with the sunroof in Windchill Pearl with Black/Java interior!!
I thank everyone for their reviews, they really helped me to make a very wise decision.
Happy for you guys and hope you enjoy it! I love this car and hope some day i could be able to own one. They dont sell these in europe and although toyota would bring it to EU then the price would be way expensivecompared to the US. For example the cheapest rav4 version costs in Finland about 45000€ which is 49000$ while in the US it starts with 31725$
This man is not only a master of his craft but a gifted storyteller as well. That is why his videos are so enjoyable to watch. He knows how to keep his audience engaged. He says that the new Venza is a gem, IMHO, he is the one who’s a gem. May the good Lord keep and bless him as he always ends his videos.
This guy repeats and repeats
Same over and over
This dude loves his own voice. His videos are way too long
I used to watch all the reviews for a particular model car. Now, I watch yours only. Your reviews leave all the others in the dust.
Regular car reviews tho 😂
My wife and I recently purchased a used 2021 Venza. It comes in two trim levels; we have the "basic" version. It is an elegant car; reminds me of the Mercury Montego. Understated in a lot of ways, but a true "grandpa car" all the way. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, keeps up well with traffic but NOT a drag racer -- we love this car. We need more cars like it!!
BTW, I gave my daughter our old Montego when she graduated college -- she despised it initially, but it was that or nothing... within a month she was the "designated driver" for her friends ANY TIME they went out driving anywhere. It was comfortable, roomy, and quiet enough to hold conversations with the front and back seat passengers. She had so many compliments about the car; she finally confessed that she had grown to love her "grandpa car". This car reminds me of that so much, as it has all those same characteristics. I don't want to race from point A to point B; I want to drive it safely, quietly, and enjoy the experience as much as possible. Is that so wrong?
Not wrong at all! Smart! I’m like that, too. Slow and steady(and be ready!)
Good safe car for your daughter and friends. You also probably taught her how to drive safely. Funny how all the accolades from friends changed her mind.
Fed up with most car reviewers. I want to shout “I’m not going to the Nurburgring, I’m going to the shops!”
My good man. If you say a Toyota reminds you of a Mercury then your basically slandering the Toyota
Loved my Mercury Montego AWD. Lots of repair free miles. After me, two family members drove it, then a family friend. Great car. I’m looking g forward to test driving a venza.
I believe you just sold me a Venza!! I've been looking for my first SUV. This one seems to be an entry level Lexus. It's so nice and it is a classy looking car. Thank you! Probably the most thorough review I have seen yet and I have watched several!
I drive a semi truck and we CANT SEE those bumper turn signals in traffic! Love your channel CCN
Yes... low down turn signals are low down stupidity !!!
I have 2 Hyundai Santa Fe's with them .... Kia also does the same...
Such a helpful comment! Thank you. Have you noticed the issue with Venzas angle of rear specifically or any vehicle with lower signals. Just curious-have you ever almost wrecked because of this issue? To me this is an important safety issue. Thanks again!
@@s.p.3738 I haven’t encountered the new Toyota yet but the Hyundais are the problem (so far), this one doesn’t seem any better. It’s only a problem in stop and go traffic as you encounter in large city rush hour..
@@s.p.3738 Lower the better the designers think ! It is plain stupid, I own 2 Hyundai Santa Fe models with those down low stupid turn signals
they are dangerous !!!!!
@@ericwall7396 Thank you for this! Very helpful
This is why Toyota does so well with it's customers because it NEVER loses sight of what is important to them. Not everyone wants leather seats, some want cloth still. Some want a more traditional look, not a race look. Not everyone is going to care how fast their car goes around the Neuromberg ring but wants their interiors to be sensable. Most modern cars are NOT really what customers want but what auto manufacters tells them they need.
You forget the most important issue……reliability and overall cost of repair and maintenance.
Yes, toyota appeals to the lowest common denominator. We know that
@@burntnougat5341 Nope, that's POS Hyundai/Kia. Toyota is in a far higher class.
@@whoknows8678 fair lol almost forgot about Kia/Hyundai
@@burntnougat5341 Yeah, we don't have Yugo to bash anymore. LOL
We just got a 2023 Toyota Venza Limited, with no stargaze roof. With only a few says of ownership, we are really impressed with the quality of the materials and the very soft and quiet handling. The new Venza is 100% Japanese car and the craftsmanship stands out immediately. We usually keep our new cars for at least 15 years with good maintenance. and the Venza is in the plan.
My wife had a 21 Venza that looked identical to the one in the video. We actually really loved that car but ultimately decided we needed a vehicle that was a bit bigger. We traded it for a 22 Highlander and love it also. Toyota makes the best vehicles in my opinion.
@@williamlyons3947 how do you know what this person needs? Do you know him? Do you know if he is handicapped and stows devices to help him walk?
I JUST saw a white VENZA 2 days ago on the road & it caught my eye how nice it looked! Very classy! 👍🇺🇸
Perfect description of the Venza! Classy-looking!
I'm the guy who went from a black/gold Trans Am in 1979, thru Corvettes and other 'in your face' cars to actually seeing a Venza in the parking lot the other day and having to stop to look at what it was. Maybe it's old age, I like to think my taste is getting more refined. I want safety, quiet, reliability in a nice looking package. The Venza checks all those boxes.
Yes, Trans Am to Venza is quite the shift in tastes 😁
It’s a phase in life. I went from 2 door sporty cars like 98 Honda Civic Si, to a VW Golf GTI, then multiple BMW coupes and sedans, my taste suddenly changed when I traded my last BMW for base VW Golf and now I’m really interested in a Toyota Sienna Hybrid minivan as a family car.
Before I got my Venza, I had a 2004 RSX. Went from an 18yo Honda which was starting to get unreliable (just lost its alternator) to the 2022 Venza. Quite the change!
Same here, went through a phase of 80’s and 90’s mustangs but these days I just want reliable transportation with good ergonomics and good fuel economy.
@@oriondragos5876 Amen!
I owned a 2001 Highlander, a 2006 Lexus RX330, and as soon as I saw the new Venza in person, it seemed obvious to me it was a new version of that size, shaped platform. I feel vindicated that the Car Wizard keeps emphasizing it. With Lexus going higher upscale, this type of vehicle is in between the worlds of Toyota, and old Lexus.
Great review!
With the vertical bars in the grille and the shape of the front end, the Toyota logo looks out of place in my humble opinion.
My mom bought one of these, and it's a really nice car. I drove it for about a month and was quite impressed.
I bought a 22 Venza Limited in September just because for RAV4 hybrid money I got a much more advanced car. I really don’t see very many of them on the road. I think they are a hidden gem.
Yes...they are super rare to see !
I ordered one in Sept 2022... told it will be 12 to 18 months before it arrives.
@@KP-uj1wf I put a deposit on an inbound unit in late July and took delivery mid September. I know there was no ordering to spec. It was just a case of this is what’s in the pipeline do you want it? If so we need a deposit. So I took it.
How is the cabin noise?
@@subrata459 not bad. Definitely much better than the rav4 which I’ve driven a lot of. There’s some in the highway but almost none anywhere else.

Their production quality has gotten really good.
100% Spot on!
That guy is Jose, AMD’s helper
I love this gentleman’s videos. He goes beyond the aesthetics and gets into the history, reliability, and maintenance of the cars. In part because of this particular video, I just placed a deposit on a Venza that is arriving at my local dealer next month.
Question,
How much of a Deposit is needed for a "Build Your Own" Venza?
@@Diablistical In my case, I didn’t build it. But I wanted one that wasn’t black or white exterior and wasn’t black interior. I went on Toyota website and saw what Venzas were at each of my local Toyota dealerships and what ones were on the way and allocated to each dealership. I saw one with a coastal grey metallic exterior and boulder (gray) interior coming to one. Went to dealer and drove one and put a $500 deposit to reserve the one I want. I can drive it when it arrives and can change my mind and get the deposit back.
Thank for the Reply and Info
Have had a '21 Limited in White Pearl since May 2021 and still love walking up to and stepping in it. Your handful of critiques are spot on as well as the Lexus-like quality. Was cross-shopping the Rav4 Prime when I saw and test drove this. The class of the more subtle design and quality of the interior won me over. 21k miles on it now and no problems whatsoever.
One more thing to mention, even though I have a limited trim, you can opt-out of the moon roof and then you can add roof racks as mine had from the factory/dealer. I like the ability to through a kayak or more storage up there if I need it. I'm seeing a few more on the streets now but still love how unique it is and have had multiple people ask what it is.
I can confirm 45-50 MPG in the summer in the Pacific Northwest and 38-43 in the winter with mixed driving.
I have had nothing but moonroofs in every car since 2010 and I never ever use them. One simply spontaneously exploded. One stopped working. One kept almost but not quite shutting. I would avoid them whenever possible
They also start to rattle and make noise after 10 years.
The Venza is the 3rd gen Lexus RX.
I parked mine next to one and the shape, size and proportions are nearly identical.
They built on a tried and true platform and got a winner again.
Actually this generation Venza reminds me of the second-Gen Lexus RX!😁
For a moment, I read "wiener" rather than "winner". 😄
@@denimadept look who's hungry...
it's actually the same as Lexus NX, not RX - RX is bigger. Tho they both built on the same platform TNGA-K
The Toyota Harrier and 1st & 2nd generation Lexus RX were built on the same platform.
I purchased a 2022 Venza three weeks ago; so far I have averaged 41 mpg. I think it is a very good value.
Hi, what is the warranty on the MGR cable. The cover he shows us gives some protection from road salt and water but it still is exposed to the elements . Rav 4 owners in the past only got 3 years coverage and then all hell broke loose with law suits for corrosion that caused the cables to fail.
@@brianwhitney9181 The warranty on the hybrid system is 10 yrs or 100 K miles. The warranty on the hybrid battery is 10 yrs or 150 k miles.

I chose the 2023 Venza Limited over the 2023 RAV4 XSE cause I wanted a more classy look. I fell in love with the outside before I even saw the inside or did a test drive. I can't wait for mine to arrive in a couple of weeks.

I work at a glass factory and we do this type of smart glass film. It is actually laminated glass with a PDLC film in between. Very expensive to make. We charge well over $100/sq.ft. You hit all the points correctly. When it goes opaque, it is off.
ive always wanted it for a number plate cover, that way you could accidentally opaque it if required hahaha.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi
We had a customer that was ordering that from us and selling them, but I think he got caught or got fined and stopped ordering them. It really is illegal, but you’re not the first to think of that.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi My father really wanted to manufacture "active glass" back in the 80's and early 90's for camera lenses - electronic shutter instead of mechanical.
IMHO, that glass is just another thing to break and cost $$$ to get repaired. I've heard about Toyota's where the glass breaks./ leaks and cost an arm/leg to fix.
I bought a ‘21 Venza and I love it. I chose the XLE model mainly because it has dials for the radio and a/c. The start button may be in an awkward place but after a couple of days you forget about it.
I totally agree that it has an unfortunate name, in Japan it’s called the Harrier which would have been much cooler.
Speaking of Japan, the Venza is actually made there which, at least to me, is a definite plus.
I’ve been watching The Car Care Nut for years and I bought this car because of you AMD, so thanks for all the great advice and congratulations on your new and beautiful shop. Too bad you’re in Chicago and not Los Angeles!
That’s what I keep saying too bad he’s in Chicago also I live in LA I see very few Venzas I don’t think i could ship it there and an engine I’d have to drive it I need to do an engine swap on my 97 Toyota Corolla I’d love for Amd to do it.
I have an XLE in south OC !
I took all the badges off mine and put Gazoo Racing GR emblems on it
I also have a '21 that I bought August 2021. I have the limited model as that is what was on the lot. Best car I've owned. Great fuel economy, everything works properly and no issues. The only thing I changed were the tires. I put on some Michelin Cross Climate 2 all weather tires so I have solid four season traction.
Makes sense that it’s the Harrier…the Lexus RX in the US was the JDM Toyota Harrier until the 2nd or 3rd generation. At which point they introduced the Lexus nameplate to Japan
Love this walk through. As an auto tech I have to agree the electronic parking breaks are an improvement. I was skeptical of them at first but they have proven to be more reliable and actually work better.
How is the electronic design actuation done with the parking brakes? Do they somehow not use brake shoes or pads? Video mentioned they no longer need to be changed, so are they operating using the main service brakes instead of an independent system?
Is there any capability for gradual application of the parking brake with the electronic design or is it always either on or off completely?
In the event where it was needed to be used during a main brake system failure, does it modulate the application at speed to prevent locking up the wheels?
It is an on or off system. No modulation. It uses the primary brake pads so no aux parking brake shoes. There is another version of parking brake system that uses a cable operated lever on the caliper. The cable operated parking brake systems both have their problems. I've found the electronic systems to be more reliable over time. Vehicles have dual hydraulic circuits as a redundancy in case of hydraulic failure. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable driving a vehicle with electronic parking brakes in a daily driver.
I love my Rav 14!
How You can stop de car en case of emergency??? Those new emergency brakes socks

As a current owner of the 2022 venza limited no complaints over here; exceptional SUV!
How is it in winter snow driving
My wife and I were on our way to buy a RAV4, but the dealer only had a few RAV 4's. We own a 2008 RAV4 Limited and love it. So I had them place a Venze next to the RAV 4. The Venza just looked better. So we bought a base Venza. After a 1500 mile break in local driving I forced the dealer to change the oil. They put in 0W-20. I said I wanted it changed to 0W-16 like the car required. We then went on a 3000 miles trip to Washington State. I achieved 48 mpg on the trip. Around town with 12,500 miles on the car now 38.6 mpg. The cloth drivers seat is showing some wear however. I have changed the oil twice now and will be changing the oil again soon at 5,000 miles since the last service. I have been a Toyota owner since my first one in 1970 a Land Cruiser. Our base model has knobs for the radio.
What price paid ?
Why are you changing the oil so frequently?
I’m currently shopping for a 2014 or 2015 Toyota Venza, V-6 (Jan. 2023) but they are priced too high, IMO. Hoping prices will come down in the next few months, then I’ll resume my search. I learned thru another RUclips video that the 2014 & 2015 had some newer features than the older models, and 2015 is the year they stopped making them (for a few years). I really like the VENZA and hope I can find one meeting my criteria, because this will be my forever car! I’m 73 and retired in North Carolina. Hoping to find one with under 100K miles, serviced regularly, never wrecked, with leather & heated seats. The towing capacity is 3500 lbs on the V6, which might come in handy should I decide to get a lightweight camper for some much needed road trips!
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to make these very professional videos; it is very much appreciated. Bless you

I have a 2009 Venza V6 AWD-it has every option that was available at the time and cost over $40K new. I purchased it 2.5 years ago for $7500. It's a gas hog, but a very comfortable one, a total tank in winter , nothing stops it. Great car, gonna keep it as long as it lasts.
I am with you. I am driving 2010 v6.
Mines a 2011 v6 2wd 231,000 miles, runs perfect, very happy. Bought it last year for $6500 cash.
High mileage Toyotas don't scare me 👍
We have a 2009 V6 that had around 102,000 miles when we bought it early this year (it was around that mileage). Has 112k and only had to put a new battery in it.
My '13 v6 AWD is almost the perfect family wagon. I only have two complaints, gas mileage and front cup holder placement. It's great in the snow, goes places our 4x4 Tundra cant. I like the new Venza, but it looks to be considerably smaller especially for back seat occupants. Which isn't great when your family are all over 5'8".
You overpaid in 2009 .lol
Rear turn signals down in the basement are a deal breaker-----especially for folks who drive in heavy snow/ice zones-----The signals could easily get covered with slush thrown up from the road.
Yes, that was a silly design decision.
I have worked with these glasses and installed the first set for a boardroom in Australia 😁. Polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) switchable glass . Basically a thin electronic layer in between two clear glasses. Back In 2010 I heard the manufacturer won a contract with Mercedes. Great technology but once the particular panel stops working replacement is the only option. Long warranty is must as they were $15k each 1.3 meters tall panels
I will keep watching
I haven’t seen what you are talking about
I'm not buying the Toyota Cross because it doesn't have a spare tire, wow this would be an elegant alternative!

My only fear is the transmission, how is it going?
The one downside is that the rear signal lights are very low.

Analog dials are outdated. Perhaps the volume control could be different but definitely not dials.
Ive had mine for 2 months. I love it. My partner has the Rav4. Its completely on another level. The Venza is refined. Its quite to me. Comfortable. I will say, 4 medium adults will be ok. If you have a tall or larger family, the Highlander should be your option. It just me, my partner and toddler. Plenty of room. From what I understand, the Venza is made entirely in Japan. Be patient and look for one without mark ups. Well worth it.
I’ve heard from a dealership that some are manufactured in Georgetown, KY, which is rated as well as Japan plant. Ours is almost here from Japan, but living in KY, I would have loved a Georgetown product
In Asia, this model is called the Harrier... the "original City SUV" which inspires the Lexus RX and created the whole new genre of "City SUV" for other car makers. It used to be rebadged as the Lexus RX from March 1998 to December 2008 for the export market. From where I come from (SEA), this car is the ultimate "subtle tycoon's car" and highly sought after.
In reference to knobs. My spin accident impressed on my face knob impressions. I can live with knobs even after this experience but prefer no knobs. Thank you for a great review!
I love all your variety. Please do NOTdo a separate channel for new car reviews. You don't click bait and contrary to what people might think, you're not paid by Toyota. Best of luck with your shop which may end up being if not already, secondary to the channel.
Great review once again! We own a 21 Limited and I agree with you on the road noise. My wife loves it and she’s not a car person, but did pick this out. These are flying from the dealerships as you have to wait a long time to get one!
Just took delivery of a 2024 base LE trim Thank you for this excellent video and your expertise which helped me to get it
Thank you. I am still driving my 2001 Avalon that was supposed to be a Lexus. I love it for all the reasons you are reviewing here. This is certainly worth looking into.
The wife & I in Oct of 2021 ordered her the 2022 Venza Limited in Blizzard Pearl and took ownership Feb 2022 and she loves driving it! This is her first Toyota but the 5th Toyota in our family. Im fascinated with the 4 outside cameras and the projection lights displaying the word Venza shining down from the side mirrors at night. Heated steering wheel/Heated & Cooled seats are a plus! Also, we just found out about the headlights auto brightness feature! Auto windshield wipers is simply awesome!
My coworker wanted a RAV4 but none were available at the time. He able to get Venza for a great price. It is super nice and is very happy with it.
Well, it is a Rav4 so......
I bought a 2024 Venza Limited at the end of last month/year. Your video was one of the factors that swayed my decision.
Outstanding advice without the noise, just the true facts, Car Care Nut is a mechanic which gives great advice, he's done it and lived it
The Venza is one of my favorite. I love it. It's one of the least appreciated cars from Toyota by customs and most beat on by reviewers. To me it's a Camry Wagen with Lexus Touch, Storage room is a novelty, few things to carry, need more space Highlander lol
What I don't like about the Venza are the rear turn signals. Placing it on the bumper like a Kia or Hyundai was a bad move. Turn signals should always be eye level or just above. Also in case of a minor rear collision you're without a turn signal.
I actually love the look of the turn signals in the bumper. Plus , I get sick and tired of the huge led eye level lights glaring at me when I'm behind those vehicles
I really enjoy your commentary and all your input. Keep doing what you do... Respect
My wife and I purchased a 2024 Limited 2 weeks ago. Coastal Gray Metallic with Boulder Interior. It has everything we want in a vehicle. Many have mentioned about cargo, But the area where the spare is has a decent amount of space to put stuff in. Great video and review.
Looks good. I'm glad you talked about the noise level. I have a RAV4 and the only reason I would want to upgrade to Lexus would be for a quieter ride. I would also like to see the catalytic converters covered with some kind of theft deterrent cage or cover. The hybrids have more valuable cats.
You're comment might change the future of Toyota cars. ;)
Just buy a RAV4 hybrid, it's a same car.
If you want quiet and extremely safe car and Luxury, buy a Volvo XC60 and you will never go back to Toyota. It's reliable too.
Hi. Is your Rav an LE? I have an XLE and drove both when I bought in 2018. We noticed the XLE was quieter for some reason - perhaps more sound insulation but the difference wasn't listed as a special feature of the XLE. We found the same when we tested the Hybrid model; it was also noisier. So for us the XLE was the one and we've been very happy with it. Just thought I would share this.

Maybe try another set of tires when your set wear out. I drove my nephew 2018 rav4 le to California and it was the most comfortable driver seat I sat in for long distance, no ache, low wind noise. I drove a friend 2021 rav4 and it was bad, bad wind noise and shaking driving 80mph.
So far I really love my 2023 Venza XLE. It's tech forward, has lots of great safety features, and of course great on fuel.
I also ❤❤❤ my 2023 VENZA! Love to drive it!
Very nice review. For me, I like the start button right next to where you put your phone down when you get in. Those are the first two things I do anyway, so it makes sense for me.
I do remember back in the day though. The Solara was definitely a notch up over a regular Camry. A quasi ES300 2dr. It was really smoooooth/quiet.
We were struck with the same thoughts that we were looking at a car that was beyond its price point! Lexus like but about 10k less. Been extremely pleased with the car so far.
Thanks for great reviews, insightful, knowledgeable, & still to the point. Agree w others his reviews are best of the best & very appreciated.
You're a natural :). I've only watched a few of your vids, but have now subscribed.
The new Venza is a home run.
AMD, I am pleased to report the original Camry-Wagon Venza was a smash hit in Canada. I am tempted to say, there are few things more Canadian than a 2016 Venza with snow tires mounted on sensible 17" steel wheels. We really, Really, REALLY, R-E-A-L-L-Y hope the new Crown Estate comes to our market to fill that space. This 'new' luxury Venza is a good addition to the fleet of Toyota Hybrids but the humble RAV4 beats it on practical measures. I also hope Toyota's upgraded 240 hp 2.5 Hybrid system soon makes its way into the new Venza and RAV4 to give them a bit more pep. In regard to the 5th generation Hybrid system, so far all the reports are very positive but we will all be waiting for YOUR expert observations. Finally, on the subject of the right name, the Japanese market Toyota Harrier could have easily been mistaken for Toyota Hairier and that may just have been too much of a risk 😉
I think the original Venza was ahead of its time. Canadians tend to hang on to them. They are very capable winter vehicles.
@@namegoeshere2903 If we do our due diligence and rustproof them, they should be good for 20 years 😉
I could not agree more brother!
Originally I was test driving Toyota 4Runners but just couldn't bring myself to drive a vehicle that barely got 20mpg so I started test driving hybrids including Honda. When I found out from your videos how great the Toyota hybrid platform truly is I settled on Toyota and test drove multiple RAV4's but didn't like the road noise. Then right behind me in the showroom was a 2021 Venza. I remembered it had the same Synergy Drive platform and the sales person drove around a brand new fully loaded limited model. When I took a test drive I was hooked. It was quieter than a RAV4. The seats were more comfortable. And even though it had the same JBL sound system it sounded better for some reason then the RAV4. I also love that it has a lithium ion battery.
I just love my Venza I often get mileage approaching 50 MPG!
I have a question on the battery:
A Toyota employee told me that with the lithium-ion it'll last much longer but with the older nickel metal hydride batteries no matter how many miles they have on them they typically fail in a shorter time frame.
Has that been your experience?
One of the reasons I chose the Toyota Synergy Drive platform in a Venza was because it did not have a turbocharged engine.
@@rightlanehog3151 what rust proofing method/vendor do you recommend? I'm planning on driving my Venza into the ground.
I just bought a 2024 two days ago and I love it. Really comfortable ❤
Bought one for my wife and she loves it. It’s made in Japan and sold there as the Harrier. Very good quality car. Glad it’s not well known here, we got it for a steal 😂
I always give your videos a thumbs up even before I watch them. Your videos are never just click bait. Your videos are always interesting and informative. I wish you were based out of North Florida, in case I need my Tacoma worked on.
Tampa, Florida girl here, and I wish he was in Florida too!
Owned a 2010 Venza with the 2GR-FE 3.5L engine. Was an amazing car. It got passed down to my daughter who drives it today. It had the lock/unlock functions on the front only. My 2021 RAV4 Limited (non-hybrid) has them on all 4 passenger doors and the rear hatch.
This guy does a great job. As well as camera crew. Purchased a 2024 one this week. Love it so far-50 miles. went with the XLE as we felt all the options on the limited were unnecessary. Titanium Glow - Boulder Int. After looking at the Rav, then Venza I told my wife this is a Lexus with Toyota price. Shame they are stopping production it this year. People are missing these one.
My wife has same color in 2021 Venza and said it was her favorite car ever and she has had a Lexus RX and an Infinity in the past.
I'm totally with you on this beautiful car: it does beat any current Lexus SUV based on its looks. Problem is, how to get it in Old Europe? It's such a great design, way to go Toyota!
You nailed the main attraction of the 21+ Venza - comfort, reliability, smoothness. I've been enjoying it as my daily commute since April 2021, and my wife thinks it's time to switch cars (hers is a 2019 Camry hyprid).
We just bought a 2023 Venza only without the moon roof. We love it. I thought the same thing about the start button. God bless!
Covering everything up like they are doing now-- has some GREAT advantages for making it last MUCH longer--- 1- in snow areas where they "salt" the roads--- it won't end up rusting out the frame nearly as quickly since a lot of it is covered!!! 2- less things broken underneath when rocks get stuck in there.. 3- takes longer for thieves to steal something- more risky in getting caught before they're done! etc...
My '11 Venza was the best car I've had and I bought it in 2019. I normally lease and play with different brands and models and trims but something about the old Venza had plenty of power but it was always a pleasant drive. Plenty of space and very quiet ride but if I wanted to go fast and around curves it did its job. Was going to keep it until I could get my hands on the new Venza but the old girl met a ladder on the freeway and now I'm waiting for a reasonable price and availability.
purchased the last year they made the Venza limited V6 2016 in Canada best car I ever had runs like charm, roomy, smooth, fast. I'll be keeping this one.
@fruitman58 I'm actually waiting for the price of an old Venza to come back down so I can get another one. It really is a Lexus vehicle with a Toyota badge.
I agree, these cars are comfortable. I have an older model and am not regretting it at all, funny thing is I never even knew about the Venza until recently smh
You don’t live in Houston, do you? I’ve seen many a ladder, and even a couch, on the freeway!
Had a brand new '22 as a loaner from my Toyota dealership (literally less then 200 miles on it) while my transmission was being replaced in my '21 Taco (that's a whole other story). At first, I looked at it like "grandpa's car". Was loving all the features on it, and the 100% made in Japan was a definite plus, unlike my Mexican made Taco. Build quality felt great, and the issues of the Start button and volume keys, I 100% percent agree with. I will say, the C pillar visibility also leaves something to be desired. First night backing into my driveway, I almost took out my trash can but the nanny saved me. I got to put nearly 1,000 miles on it road tripping for Thanksgiving. It's a great road road tripping vehicle. Do wish the heated seats were a little warmer, and an opening sunroof would have been awesome. I was kind of sad when I had to return it. Was averaging 38-40 MPGs.
Extremely thorough. Thank you! I think the only deal breaker for me might be the cargo space, such as when you're hauling 5 people's luggage to the airport.
My wife has a 2009 Venza and loves it. It has a larger back storage space and excellent back sear head room. I bought the 2023 Venza and l appreciate its qualityit. But I was sad to read that’ll be replaced in 2025 with a name and styling change.
The main concern people are seeing with the cable on Rav4 World is galvanic corrosion. The opening won't help that, just postpone it. That's why it messes up the radio reception. Much like a Nissan transmission. It works great, until it doesn't- unless there is a redesign, it will corrode -from the inside out. I'm pretty sure that is why the Corolla Cross Hybrid has it in the trunk.
They may first be dragged kicking and screaming through the class action lawsuits but sooner or later Toyota will find it is in their own interests to fix it.
Great video and observations. I’m not a fan of the low blinkers but the low backup lights might better illuminate what’s behind you.
This car is exactly what we want in a car. No bs, just a reliable, decent looking car.
By the way, you should be the Toyota USA sales manager.
