I'm a white man and was in at least 3 physical fights per week until I reached 18, not because I started it but because I was an easy target. But I'm also aware that it's not at all normal. One of my sisters just died after suffering with cancer for over 10 years while my other sister is handicapped and wheelchair bound now and can't get the pain meds she needs because of the crackdown of opioid abuse in the U.S. I just barely survived breast cancer and am now just getting my hair back, but my strength, figure and my youth is forever gone with the wind. I'm THANKFUL to be alive and count my Blessings that I live in a big city with exceptional doctors and clinics for cancer patients. Many people don't have access to decent healthcare. Stop whining. Life sucks for most of us. DEAL WITH IT!!!

When I was in high school, in history we learnt about the uk from the Roman invasions to the industrial revolution and about the world wars, so I don’t understand what people mean when they say notable black figures r stripped from the history books

A person can be judged by their name on a cv for job shortlists ie Jane Smith vs Mohammed abdul vs their skillset. A person may be judged on their racial profile and therefore whether they are British born or foreign, they may be judged on their race in terms of the threat they pose to society when shopping, in a crowd, at a party/night club, and how they are dressed when in conjunction with what race they are ie guy with a turbin in a suit, Ie a person whose black in jeans and t-shirt vs a white person.
A person can be for example made to feel biased/sidelined/ as a minority in a majority racial group/institution ie references made to their race vs them as a person ie being called tropical, exotic, oriental, in a social gathering, or being presumed to be a certain way, or being presumed to be from a certain economic class, or to speak a certain language. Then theres more outward racism, comments like Immigrants are taking all of our jobs, and there not being acknowledgment of things like slavery and immigrants lands having been colonised, robbed, ripped off, or immigrants fighting in the wars historically for western countries. So with respect, racism is not just something you avoid, it is part of systems, day to day life, it is published in the mainstream media, by those who control racial ideas, images of good, bad, beauty, etc ie if mainly chinese people/black people owned the television networks, magazines, banks, major advertising companies which influences peoples perceptions, this also would impact peoples racial viewpoints as these groups would print out whatever their agenda was...

Did I not get the job because the other person is Chinese or did I not get the job because the other person was more impressive? It's alright to say that racism is apart of everyday life but you also can't go around calling things racist just because you failed at something. On the flip side, with the new diversity quota. If I have all the qualifications to get a good job but I lose it to Mohammed Abdul, is this because Mohammed was hired because of the Diversity quota or is it because Mohammed was more impressive than I was. I'm not implying that you believe the quota system is good or anything, just merely stating that any attempt to fight racism can regularly become racism itself. Racism is just simply something which society needs to evolve away from. We see with every new generation that people are becoming more and more accepting of diversity (and I don't mean the far left, just people in general). A few more generations and racism might even be a thing of the past.
@@msa7490 It is that simple. Racism in this modern age and especially in the UK doesn't present insurmountable challenges to people of colour or other races. I am a dark skinned black woman and while you will never stop people from having some sort of bias towards people of a particular race you can choose to avoid them and they don't have to negatively impact your lives. The most I have personally had to deal with was the awkward inappropriate comment here and there. People nowadays don't want to be racist and try very hard to not be perceived that way.
