    Hello Adi. I have spent a large part of today trying to sync my carbs which I had already bench sync'd. I tried using syncing dials two ways; one with four vacuum pipes via a vacuum manifold to one dial; and the intended way - four pipes to four dials and I just was not happy with the result. I found the revs moving too much when I manipulated the adjuster between carbs 1&2.......So, the Carbtune Pro 4 is on order and I look forward to having the RF running properly. Hoping to have it MOT'd end of May so I shall be posting in the group that my long running project is, after 2 1/2 years, back on the road.
    Great guide as always. Thank you 👍

    Hey just curious do you still have your rf900r? I just recently bought one my self and I love the bike it's all original. In fair to great condition. It's 94 Suzuki rf900r it's a redish maroon color.

      Russell Wade Hi Russell,yes still have the good old Riffer. It's been resting in the shed for a while as rode other bikes lately but don't intend to sell it, love it too much so we are married now. Always wanted red RF9 cause it's a Ferrari on 2 wheels:)

    Curious as to why whilst all stripped down you didn't set the idle mixture on each carb and then re balance makes a hugh difference.

    Regarding the hanging-the-bottle-above-the-bike-trick: Is there anything in perticular I need to think about when doing this? I can't start my RF this way after being stored in over a year and I need to rule out the chance that I am doing this wrong. I drilled an 8 mm hole instead of cutting the entire bottom off, but that shouldn't make any difference.

    Good video except why have you taken the airbox off? that isn't necessary.

      Thanks Michael, wanted to have better access to carbs. Also to show how to connect the tool and capture everything there removing the airbox helped. Regards

      Airbox really needs to be in place when running the engine....and you should blip the throttle to clear the venturi after every adjustment.

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  6 лет назад

      Bob Morrell Thanks Bob. I tried doing it with the airbox on but it was a bit of a pain in the butt to access those bloody adjusting screws so finally decided to film it without.
      I blipped the throttle many times during the procedure:) in fact after about 15 minutes of fiddling with it engine got so hot that i had to stop for some time and give it some rest :)
      It all nicely worked out though, love carbtune pro!

    Hi i am thinking of buying an rf900 at the weekend as a 2nd bike to fzr1000 exup. I am having it bored and the colours changed along with some other tuning mods. One thing at a time though incase it goes tits up.
    Back to my main point, do these bikes burn a lot of oil? And it generally safe to ride them through winter as they have full steel frame rather than alloy?

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  4 года назад

      Good bikes when looked after. Corrosion will appear when ridden during winters and autumn but if you do some clean up and preservation form time to time you'll be fine.

    hey i just wanted to know where did you connect your fuel line.

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  6 лет назад

      Roderick Byrd Hi. Auxiliary fuel supply must be provided cause the tank gets removed. Fuel hose from the auxiliary fuel bottle goes to the black fuel line which normally links with the petcock.

    La carburación no va a variar al poner la caja de aire?

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, for the simple procedure of balancing at around 1700rpm it will not make a big difference, however you can do the balancing with the airbox on the carbs. I only took it off to have better view of all the components for the video purposes.

    Was there any RF specific indicators that the carbs need to be tuned/calibrated?

    • @bobmorrell5445
      @bobmorrell5445 6 лет назад

      No, you're just looking to balance the four needles - ignore the readings on the dials.

    I've just spotted.....engine was cold!!

    • @Adikxx
      @Adikxx  3 года назад +1

      Now what's the definition of cold?
      Did i slap my Carbtune on dead cold bike and started synchronizing? No.
      I let the engine run so it can be started easily and throttle becomes responsive.
      Probably took a few minutes of idling and gentle thottle blips(don't remember how long exactly, this was few years back). Warming up like that in autumnal ambient temperatures won't make the temp gauge go up much, if at all(you know that).Nonetheless if i touched the header pipe i would probably suffer so certainly not "cold" engine.
      For the temp gauge to go up high you'd need to get the engine HOT.

    1750rpm too low, try 2500-3000rpm on next
