I'm assuming it's iron oxide creating the red colour? Those long columns that are like walls I would assume are indications that at some point in the areas past the land was probably pushed and lifted roughly 90 degrees... fascinating stuff. I could imagine Hollywood using the area as a cheaper filming alternative to filming in their rocky areas. Lovely view of the water too.
