Amazing video! I've been to Kygrizstan at the summer and did the same hiking routes as you did (except Jyrgalan that i was only 1 day there). Your video brings back memories from unforgettable trip.
shots from 21:03 to 21:08 do something to me, they invoked some kind of rare memories, feels and smell that i'm sure only i can relate to. Great video. My life is better from this video, thanks.
Thank you!! Yes, I did the Boz Uchuk lakes hike through Destination Jyrgalan. I booked that trek through them way in advance. They are amazing and very quick to respond! You can book a guide to go with a group or solo trek. I also stayed at their guesthouse in Jyrgalan. It's beautiful! Have a good trip.
Hi Keith. great video. Thanks for sharing. This will definitely inside my bucket list now. Just a quick question about that Helly Hansen jacket, how's the water proof performance? I am thinking to purchase exactly the same one you having now. Lastly, what's the cost of hiring the guide for this entire trip? Thanks
Thank you!! The Helly Hansen rain jacket is holding up pretty well. I still use it for all my backpacking trips. Dries fast. I couldn't find my emails, but I believe it was around $80 usd a day for my solo guided Boz Uchuk Lakes trip. Destination Jyrgalan was great and very helpful. Can do group or solo guided trips. They responded fast too! Have a great trip!
Thanks for the comment! For trekking info I would look up Destination Jyrgalan (who I used for Boz Uchuk hike). They are great and will help with any question you have. Even about yurt rentals. I saw my yurt host on Google Maps too, after the hike. I don't remember how much I paid for the yurt, as It was random because it was very cold and rainy that day. It was not expensive. I went solo and brought my own gear, but the company I mentioned has a website with rental gear options. Have a great trip!!
I mostly use the All Trails app or topo maps with a compass. I also bought topo maps through the local tourism bureaus in Jyrgalan and Karakol. I always have a compass. The Boz Uchuk hike was not on All Trails, but my guide knew where to go, as it wasn't really marked. Ala-Kul trek is pretty well marked, but I used All Trails too.

May I know which month did you go ?
Kyrgyzstan is stunning!! Reminds me of Mongolia.
I need to see Mongolia! This was in mid August 2023.
Thanks for the stunning video😊 Could I ask the exact date of hiking? I'm planning about the season I may visit
Thank you!! This was early August 2023. Definitely had snow!

@keithjones1 hi thanks for the answer, will check em out soon. By the way what kind of jacket material do you wear? Thanks!
@@khoirinaalifa7413 I usually have one rain jacket and then a puffy jacket. On this trip it was the Cotopaxi down jacket to stay warm at night.
It was a good video. What time of year was the trip?
Thank you!! This was for a week in mid-August of 2023.
How do you navigate in the mountains on these hikes? Are there any directions or do you use your phone?
