I like the idea of using army of renown rules to give older books a boost in the last year of the current game version. Might feel different later, but I like it atm.
They are just doing wacky stuff at this point, which is super fun, because it will all change with the new edition :) plus it mixes things up because we are running the same ghb for 1 year

I think people are sleeping on the FellWaters. Someone will figure out a way to use their vomit attack with Gitz, Orks or other Troggs

A fluffy Trogg list vs an aggressively efficient Chaos list. What a shocking outcome :D I love the idea of Trugg's mob but the Troggs really benefit a lot from buffs and screening provided by other Gitz units. Some Fellwater troggs would have helped a lot in this game with their armour debuff.

Always a delight to see some chosen of Slaanesh, I feel like when the book came out everyone was kinda low on them but they are absolute beasts
Agreed! The Weight of dice with the banner of screaming flesh means most any unit with 20 pr less wounds is dead, and the once per battle fight again can be very impactful if timed right. Having warriors so low in points now means you have a SOLID screen and the chosen just counter the pants off of anything that gets stuck in combat
I'm not a smashing-and-bashing kind of guy, so I'm not huge on either factions' mechanics, but I'll be damned if the model ranges on both factions aren't among the best in the game. The Troggs' details on their flesh, some of their models have cute little mushroom companions or other things, and their weapons are as brutal as they are crude. Love it. The Slaves To Darkness have the best armor designs out there, even beating the Stormcast Eternals. Games Workshop really did a great job on both of them. So who do I cheer for? STD isn't fielding Archaon, so points to them. The Gloomspite Gitz aren't fielding a bunch of obnoxious Squigs, either, so points to them. I'm cheering for Troggs.
Yeah, I hate your choice of Dark Master. But you still won by a significant margin. The Chosen are an incredible hammer, and went uncontested for a couple of combat phases, got your value out of them. Nice work. :D
Thanks for the well thought out comment Stryder! I had a rough go with Slaves to Darkness when the tome was released, but am starting to get their playstyle down. They are a solid faction, and with the points drops for knights, warriors and chosen, you can make a pretty scary and tanky 2000pt list. Shit! Well honestly, I didn't need the acolytes battalion, and this would have made me a 1 drop, I would have given Mike the first turn, which he did anyway lol. It's funny, we have filmed over 150 videos and still make silly mistakes. Thanks for watching and being a part of our community!
Thats not accurate, actually. They can be mounted. Its the old GHB rule that disqualified mounted units. The current GHB 100% allows it.
@@theDEUBabides They can be locus since he qualifies as a non unique hero with 9 wounds or less, but he is unable to be in the battalion because to be qualified as the "Champion" slot, he must be a hero with wounds less than 10, that does not have a mount and is not unique.
Loved to see the AutoRun+Charge Slaanesh Chosen :) when you charge with slaanesh Chosen it should be +2 to on charge for Slaanesh+Drummer. Awesome Game that was really fun to watch!
Thank you for the comment! I have decided that I am in love with chosen. The models are some of the best GW sculpts ever made, their rules are perfect for their lore, and they pointed perfectly right now. I would run 20 if I had another 10 just for the lolz!

First combat, did the Troggs count as having 3 wounds each and not 4? Or was I missing something?
no you are right. troggoths have 4 wounds each and they played them with three
They do have 4 wounds, but he was playing as they had 3...
This was a mistake in turn 1 only :) the trogg would have most likely ran d/t battleshock anyway. I am surprised that Michael made this mistake, because he has played with troggs at least 15 times lol

Awesome battle. I know its just maybe perception but felt like the StD were rolling SO HOT all game lol, making 3/5 5+ saves just huge weight of dice I felt kept the Troggoths from actually doing much this game. Would love to see a rematch!
The rolls were white hot no doubt! And there were a few times where the damage was just enough to finish off some units. Thanks for watching;)

Im building my own slaves to darkness list and It looks very similar to this minus belakor and with warriors instead of the 5 knights. What would you run instead of Belakor and the endless spell? I have 620 pts left

Lord on kakadrak cant be in andtorian acolytes cause it has wounds characteristic of 10 and is on mount :O
You are partially correct. Karkadrak is 9 wounds, so he is andtorian, but you are right, he can't go into the battalion

Just a question I have seen more times: How are you taking the Andtorian Acolytes batallion? The chaos lord can't go there as he has a mount.
Wizard heroes that are not unique and have a wounds characteristic of 9 or less gain the andtorian acolyte keyword. Neither the realm rule nor the battalion states the caster cannot be mounted. You may be confusing this with the last ghb which excluded mounted heroes
@@BattleshockWargaming What the battalion says: Champion: hero with a Wounds characteristic of less than 10, that does not have a mount (with the exception of companions) and is not Unique. So the mounted hero can't go into the battalion.

He always knew, but his brain glitched and he forgot how to count for a moment. Let's be real though, that last trogg was running from battleshock at the end of the turn hahaha 😆

Yeah against StD you need the fellwater troggs behind so they can unleash hell when the chosen/knights charge in.
Reducing armor saves would be very helpful. We gotta get some fellwaters!

You need felwaters to reduce saves and negative to hits. You need to take +1 to wound triumph

Correct me if i am wrong but, as far as I know you lose all battle traits from the battletome while using an Army of Renown, so you dont gain any benefits from the Moon.
Besides that i do enjoy your battlereports quite a lot!

and i dont think you wasted belakor but its always funny to have opponent say they doing surround and destory then u just belakor the unit
I usually will wait until something like this comes up, or belakor is in danger. I try to pick a unit and keep it shut down for 2 turns

How did your Trugg army come to 1990 total points? Your total points is actually 1910? So you could've had at least maybe another Boss to have a 1950 list instead? Anyways you left a lot of points available is all.....

Played the Troggherd and was really dissapointed. I was torn to pieces without a wizard and with slow moving. It is better to play Troggs in other gitz factions.
Full on agree, the army is cool, but just suffers d/t no magic resistance and slow moving, expensive hammer units. You realize how fragile they are when they dont have 40 stabbas to soak up charges. Very cool army tho. Tune in on Thursday to see how they stack up against Cities of Sigmar!

Yep, the Rockguts shit the bed on that one, that left the Chosen out of combat which meant they could run and charge into the rest of the army. That fight in turn 2 likely swung the game
