Also, something I've learned in my exploration of interspecies communication is that plants, just like pets, would ALSO like to be informed of things before they happen. They don't mind what you do IF you let them know ahead of time. Although they DO appreciate a bit of speed in getting their roots back in the soil, but that's only because they're not being informed of what's going to be done and what's going to happen to them. They're every bit as intelligent as animals and, like animals, they stress out when it comes to not being informed about something - and when it's going to happen - something that will affect them. But, you can just intentionally visualize/show them what you intend to do and feel the awesomeness and enjoyment of the result before you do it. They are SOOO appreciative of such respect. Just like our animals. You will be surprised at how well they respond to being consciously included and informed of your plans.

I knew I could trim the roots, but didn’t know I could just slice it when it’s compact…like bread. Thanks for enlightening me!

Perfect. I have an umbrella plant I rescued from a garbage can 50 years ago and the pot is already immense. Wish me luck!

.. For flying sake, I nearly had a heart attack when you cut off the roots 😲😳😟 but I did listen carefully and now it makes sense with the water flow, or missing water flow, through the root ball.. I've got a few of that (bought them with it), where it either lay on top of the soil going no where, or going right through as if nothing was ever there.. It calls for a check up for sure.. So thank you for explaining 🤗

I repotted a plant and I think I covered too much of it in new dirt. Two of the three stems died within a month. Is it possible to injure the plant by covering too much of the stem, or is that not a thing? I am loving your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! ❤

Dang. I was waiting for you to use pumice! I learnt so much about using pumice from you your channel! What are your thoughts of planting outdoor plants/trees like camellias and mini osmanthus in its final big pot with the soil mixed with a lot of pumice ( because of the big pot and not wanting to repot for years)?

That is my first video to watch on your channel while I’m in the middle of repotting a 6 year Dracena that has a dead head new baby shoot waiting to be cared for with couple of big fat whiter inwards roots going upwards too Oh dear! I’ll check if you have a video of separating the baby from the mother plant or leave them. I’ll probably repot in the same size pot.

Do you water the plant beforehand? The soil seems to be quite dry.
