This video series features the complete restoration of a 1972 CL350 Honda Scrambler motorcycle. The videos should help anyone whether working on a cafe racer build or a full-on original restoration. I'm definitely not an expert so please refer to your manuals for proper disassembly and assembly instructions. Please leave comments if you have any questions. I'll be happy to help answer questions if I can confidently provide solutions. Again, I'm not a professional. This is my 2nd Honda motorcycle restoration and I'm learning every single day. I'd love to hear your tips if you have better ways to do things. I hope you find the series useful and entertaining. I strive to show as much detail as possible so that the videos can be used as not only a how-to resource but also a reference for the placement and original set up of parts and systems.
If you don't have one already please get a manual for your specific project. There are many available online for download for free.
Common Motor Collective, from which I source many of my replacement parts, has a fantastic resource on their website: bit.ly/CBManuals

    Keep on wrenching, Friends!

Have you noticed any issues with evapo rust and non metallic things like those reflectors or other plastic/rubber components? Also, just thought I'd suggest using a wire wheel on a cordless/corded drill to peel the paint from the frame or other large parts. maybe a couple runs of the paint stripper to soften it and get the bulk off and then run a wire wheel over the rest. I think they also make a brush on paint stripper. I'm familiar with a brand called Jasco. Toxic as hell but works well.

The Evaporust didn’t hurt the reflectors or the rubber piece on the kick starter, etc. I was curious too! That one reflector is stuck on. Hold on about the frame. We will be getting to that soon. I stripped and wire brushed the 70...gonna try a different route on this one. Coming soon!

@@KeepOnWrenching oh awesome. Good to know. I assumed you'd have mentioned it if it was causing issues with the plastic or rubber. I'm excited to see!

Hey Brian, about how long were those parts in the evapo-rust?

I probably left those in there for a few days. I’d drop parts in and go on business trips and deal with them when I got home. Usually no less than 24 hours tho. Needs time to work. No issues leaving stuff in there longer either. I’ve never ruined a part in Evaporust.
