Problem with fog essentials is that it was meant to just be a basics brand for wardrobe essentials but it got overhyped as a way to show you have a bit more money than wearing a Nike tracksuit. If they didn’t plaster their logo all over it then it could have just been a solid brand as they make decent clothing
However both Adidas and Nike by now have a lot of stuff that's pricier. So now you don't really look like someone with more money anymore. Still the quality is great. That's what it should be bought for. Buying purely for flex is always idiotic.

I think a piece by piece basis is healthy. REAL fashion heads will not give a rats ass about a brand and wear it if it speaks to them. Some of the best fits in my opinion come from pairing high end more end game fantasy peices with low end everyday style. But then again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with writing off a brand completely if it isn't your thing.

Standing on the shoulder of giants is a reference to the Oasis album which one of the founders mentioned as inspiration I've been buying from represent for a while now, and here's my view: They're getting expensive. I think the quality of their clothes is pretty decent, but I don't think you can charge £150+ for a hoodie and it not be premium. Black friday sales were piss poor too, the prices were probably what the clothes should have been originally selling for. Don't think a pair of shorts is worth £80+. As for them copying designs, I think the most egregious example of this is their slides. A straight up copy of Yeezy slides with represent branding. In the promo video they claimed they'd spent 6 months coming up with the design... I think their worst trait is inconsistent sizing. None of the pants sizing match up. I have a small and medium in different pants, yet an XS in one of their other pants was still ridiculously long. But it's not all bad, I actually really like the designs, regardless of copying or not. I think the branding is nice. The brand as a whole is also pretty good, they put out a lot of content and entertaining youtube videos
Represent is one of my favorite brands, and I do get some of the hate for it. But I encourage those people to try out at least one of the pieces, their quality is miles ahead of many items they are "copying" plus the founders are really cool and they do a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff!

My biggest problem with ALD are the fans. I went to their store in London for the first time and the people working there were super cool and holding their pieces in hand was sick and actually gave me a new found appreciation. The fans who dress head to toe ALD are so boring. There are MANY labels that fit the same style as ALD but also have their own twist -- yet so many ald meat riders refuse to wear them cause teddy hasn't explicitly cosigned them.
People in my country that wear Hugo Boss tracksuits, EA7 and other kind of stuff, are also the ones most common people who got cought selling drugs...They are not really "roadmen" as we call it here, but they are so much worse.
I'm surprised to see that you did not mention KITH or Todd Snyder in the section were you were talking about ALD. You could lump in a lot of brands into that, "elevated, sophisticated, and mature" style of look.

Realy well made and trendy. I like the idea behind Acronym, Arcteryx or Balenciaga but I hate their pricing. You still need to wear something everyday for a reasonable cost. I am just glad I quickly started following my own path before I started making enough money to be able to afford hype designer things. I did buy an OW Industrial Belt, but only 4 years after they became popular and the hype died down, therefore I know I genuinely wanted it.
14:16 I've bought something from a brand I hated before because the specific item I bought was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a navy waistcoat with pinstripes a while ago and I found the perfect one at Karl Lagerfeld (it was a collab with the smaller queer designer Alled-Martinez). I hate Karl Lagerfeld, he said so many awful things (though he's dead now), and I hate Chanel which he worked for (Coco Chanel worked with Nazis, but NOBODY EVER TALKS ABOUT THAT) but this one specific piece from this one specific collection was the item I needed, so I bought it. I still want to get the branded tag on the outside of the waistcoat off though.
IMO the dislike towards HE is probably the most misguided and empty criticism of a brand on this list (not saying Antwon is doing this, as he's just describing a popular position). Regarding doing things for attention, then I see no issue with it, for literally every brand (besides things like CCP and so on) do extravagant stunts with no utility; just look at a Rick's SS19 with those oddly shaped squares that protrudes the body. Obviously, this is completely unwearable, but it has a duality to it: 1) it serves as an object people will speak about due to how strange it is, thereby generating attention; 2) it further expands the Rick universe and its modus operandi of androgynous looking beings. The point being: Rick, like HE and others, do these sorts of things for attention, meaning the form is the same - the thing which separates them is merely the content of the form. Moreover, when speaking about being "lazy" and being too reliant on their inspiration's designs, then it's fair to point that out in certain cases. But, my issue here, is singling HE out as if they are way more delinquent than other brands. Everybody steals from everybody. In certain cases, it's fine to call this out, but it's not a criticism on its own that discredits the entire vision of HE, for their design vision has a pretty unique and recognizable aesthetic. Therefore, I don't really thing the micro-trends issue is that big of a deal either. I really don't see those things being a substantial part of HE's garments, like, ever; they vision has maintained its course throughout many years.
I don't know who is "we". Do that many people really focus on stuff like this when they could be buying established brands and preoccupied with something more productive or whatever?
I dont see why anyone would hate on heliot emil. Also youre not unique if youre hating on balenci. If i had the money bruh, they have some of the nastiest pieces ever
I will never understand common projects hype, so a brand that copies their already copied shoe style? No thanks! Never hear people talking abt it but CP shoes (which I’m just now realizing why I never see abbreviated online bc FBI OPEN UP!!💀) r literally just knock off Stan Smiths but worse bc they cost 5 times as much despite being one of the simplest made shoes on the market
I used to hate on represent and view it as ‘basic’ but having tried their stuff out I’m honestly a fan. The quality is great, especially for the price. Still find the owners club stuff cringey, as well as the blatant trend biting
Why can't man were whatever he likes. It's so simple: you like some brands- you buy'em you don;t like - you don't buy'em why hate or envy bcs someone wore a piece they paid for and like to wear !?
I ordered recently a pair of cargo's from the brand Reindee Lusion (still waiting for them patiently, they should arrive this tuesday), the brand seemed to me like a nice not too aggressive + more low-budget variant of a techwear inspired/influenced brand, it also seemd to me that the brand it self grew a bit more since their beginnings were kind of taboo/low-quality "techwear clothing", I've also seen few people wear some of their pieces in some cool fits, but never could find anyone that would really talk about the brands built quality and features of they're clothing more deeply in detail (my guess would be maybe because the brand just might not have much to offer, but I don't want to make my opinion based of random assumptions I made in my head) I do know you made a review on some of their stuff back in 2019, but is there a chance that you would share any changes in your opinion about the brand since then, or maybe I missed some other place you talked about they're presence? Anyway I just wanted to mention the brand under this video... To sum it all up, I would just really appreciate your or someone else's opinion about the brand and relationship with their clothing, the more it is in-depth, the better! *Btw, Sorry for the length, this sounds like a 100-word essay for a school assignment, and also for any grammar mistakes* Thanks to anyone who read threw this all...
i too got a pair of reindee lusion cargos because i'm in a place that rains a lot. I really like them and get excited whenever i need to wear them. however, i would only wear them when the weather is colder as when it's warm (and possibly humid) my legs sweat and it doesn't feel that comfortable. in fall / winter i wear a base layer with them and it's perfect.
I have a pair of cargos from them (not the steven cargos but the one that looks like it but more breathable one) and pretty much wear it all year round, from tropical places to colder places and that you can adjust the fit makes it makes it even more versatile and it's pretty comfy too. I also have the tech blazer from them and it's pretty decent, but not as soft as the cargos. It also just runs a little small so size up for that one.
Not every video is about 'techwear' specifically but I still like talking about more technical stuff and that's my aesthetic of choice, so it'll always show up here and there 🫡
I am old enough to remember "Armani Jeans" and going to Bradford and buying as many pairs as i could from asian dudes factories and selling them to punters at leeds uni...OG reps.
I don’t really get the hate for Helliot Emil tbh. I’ve been a fan of their stuff for quite some time, I think it actually might have been Ant that put me on it way back when. I ended up getting a cropped puffer from them in 2021 and I’ve been absolutely in love with it since. The nylon on the outside is lux, the stuffing is superb and the zipper is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced. If anything I’d say the metal rivets could be better, especially for the price, but I can live with those. It ran me $1k which at the time was my biggest purchase and I still feel like it was money well spent. Other than puffers I also quite like their tailoring, the blazers look cool as I really enjoy the strapy details that they include, though I never have any occasions to wear a blazer to so I haven’t purchased one I will agree that the carabiners on everything can look a bit corny, especially on some more formal pieces and I’m certainly not a fan of the latest Liquid Metal collection (which is a global trend that I have a gripe with), but other than that I feel like they have an identity and their pieces are distinct
People hate on them because they are unoriginal, at this price point why would people chose a piece that's "inspired" by another one that has the same retail price.

May just be myself, but I ignore fashion and lean towards the style. As far as Bala, I just think nonce.
I don't know who is "we". Do that many people really focus on stuff like this when they could be buying established brands and preoccupied with something more productive or whatever?
I write off brands entirely frequently, especially when I've never HEARD of them, but you're probably not talking about Nike, etc. here.
I guess some people have more money to waste than others?
LOL, you mentioned the carabiner and glanced down at my AndWander shirt......
I dont see why anyone would hate on heliot emil. Also youre not unique if youre hating on balenci. If i had the money bruh, they have some of the nastiest pieces ever
I thought HE’s Liquid Metal collection is decently interesting. I don’t really jive with the rest of the collections.
Never liked Salomon’s and I never will
I'm surprised Supreme didn't make it
This is a part 2 video, Supreme was in the 1st one, it’s indeed the best example of a brand MFs love to hate.
Why did you remind me of Paul’s boutique
Is it fine to be "cringe" if I like what I'm wearing?
Yes.
ofc, how dare you be a free thinker
of course it is- why would it not be-
Is it brands fans hate, or the fact that it’s all name and no substance ? Some « hated » brands sometimes make cool stuff but people will still hate.
I get what Kanye was saying about ‘light skinned Ye’ the fear of god collab with adidas is nasty work 😂 they literally went for a Yeezy clone brand
Stone Island, C.P Company and Billionaire Boys Club. 🤢
17:00 Dover Street crying
i love your content
hi antwon
Yooo i bought my as new iPhone 13 there 😂 5:25
i hate MSCHF so much it hurts me everytime i see their products
Have you heard of Represent 247? Definitely some of the best gymwear out right now
Hard disagree.
@@30m3 Why? And what’s better?
I used to hate on represent and view it as ‘basic’ but having tried their stuff out I’m honestly a fan. The quality is great, especially for the price. Still find the owners club stuff cringey, as well as the blatant trend biting
Have you seen the FOG x Adidas prices?!? Worse was JL’s justification(s)…laughable
Dead 💀
Why can't man were whatever he likes.
It's so simple:
you like some brands- you buy'em
you don;t like - you don't buy'em
why hate or envy bcs someone wore a piece they paid for and like to wear !?
I still like ASSC ☠️
*Btw, Sorry for the length, this sounds like a 100-word essay for a school assignment, and also for any grammar mistakes*
Thanks to anyone who read threw this all...
i too got a pair of reindee lusion cargos because i'm in a place that rains a lot. I really like them and get excited whenever i need to wear them. however, i would only wear them when the weather is colder as when it's warm (and possibly humid) my legs sweat and it doesn't feel that comfortable. in fall / winter i wear a base layer with them and it's perfect.
Thank you so much for the feedback I appreciate it a lot, and I will keep this information in mind@@nosky_
I am very glad to hear positive things, thanks for the comment!@@omgstoptakingnames
Gaudy stuff is good not ironic
So Techwear videos are not thing here anymore huh
Not every video is about 'techwear' specifically but I still like talking about more technical stuff and that's my aesthetic of choice, so it'll always show up here and there 🫡
I am old enough to remember "Armani Jeans" and going to Bradford and buying as many pairs as i could from asian dudes factories and selling them to punters at leeds uni...OG reps.
15:08 gorp will come back when ai rises
Iam a hater of the lower quality versace products, like versace jeans. I think it is ugly and overbranded.
11:46 essentials is for mindless clones. Get eternals
I’m just sick of ironic fashion at this point
no way
I don’t really get the hate for Helliot Emil tbh.
Other than puffers I also quite like their tailoring, the blazers look cool as I really enjoy the strapy details that they include, though I never have any occasions to wear a blazer to so I haven’t purchased one
I will agree that the carabiners on everything can look a bit corny, especially on some more formal pieces and I’m certainly not a fan of the latest Liquid Metal collection (which is a global trend that I have a gripe with), but other than that I feel like they have an identity and their pieces are distinct
I wouldn’t say I hate them but they just don’t Interest me
People hate on them because they are unoriginal, at this price point why would people chose a piece that's "inspired" by another one that has the same retail price.
Tommy Bahama fans right now: 😅
