"Belting" would be a good term for that powerful not-screaming Su-metal does.
I don't remember anyone else mentioning the full black gloves, to me that's a subtle but important part of this elegant, regal look; it's always present in the closeups of Su-metal singing, mic held close, but that's not where your attention is. In the past Yui and Moa had studded half-gloves (one each on opposite hands), but Su never did. In terms of dramatic makeup, they did use some in a couple of German festival appearances in 2018, in particular at Rock Im Park.

Thanks Venice for coming back with this suggestion after the audio only, now the effect is way different.
This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it just looks insane. The ten prophets are holding crosiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol "OO" and is the title of upcoming 4th album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion anime series, if you know MoaMetal you know you gotta be careful with her. 🔱

Ending January at Makuhari Messe, they held two big live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production.
SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. Those freaking cinematic drone shots making you feel like you're in a movie.
We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound.
We got so many big news and announcements, a new official member is coming (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1st (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, so we're guessing maybe some of the older kawaii metal songs they don't play anymore will be back with this new unit, so stay tuned for more but like always OTFGK.
There was some minor issues when SuMetal was singing this live a little bit off, apparently an IEM issue or something but is all good coz we all know it's been a while since performing live and is the premiere of this song, pretty sure next live shows will be better.

Great reaction - I think you understand why everybody wanted you to see this after listening to the audio only version. No matter how good their songs are (and they are all great songs - even the one or two some people don't like so much) BABYMETAL visuals add so much.
Jake Muller already explained the dancers' staff had the "OO" logo for the album title (The Other One).

I love that effect.
The OO symbols are for "THE OTHER ONE", the current theme, and the name of the upcoming album.
Although even if they were carrying scissors, everyone is walking carefully instead of running. : )
BABYMETAL have had that same style of hair decorations since the first concert of 2019.
That's the show where the "avengers" were introduced, kicking off the Metal Galaxy theme.
These costumes were for the show opener. They had the same, or very similar costumes as the 2021 Budokan concerts for the rest of the concert.
Although apparently there were capes for one song later in the show.
Hahaha i tend to love checking out and analysing the light camera and other props used on stage as they are added to add something new so I always like to see why they are placed the way they are😁👍
I had never thought that the hands doing the fox sign represent the people, yeah, it might be. It is a very BABYMETAL image, that Su stands on the power given to her by the fighting spirit of her people (katanas and fox signs).
This song is clearly written with the theatrics of a big opener in mind and it was a pity you just listened to the audio. We had some people from the Discord there in the audience in Japan two weeks ago, and this is only part of the performance. Before this, when the concert started and the lights went dark, music, smoke and lights started to happen, a procession from the center to the two sealed doors on the sides started to walk and after two minutes of ambience and building they reached them. They used the keys with The Other One logo with the doors, and an enormous humm was listened in the arena. The fox eyes turned red, the doors opened and from them emerged the thrones. When the light focused on one, there was Su singing, unsealed after two years of being nowhere. It seems a lot of people was crying.

Totally agree. Not only the stage setup and lightning for the live performance are just gorgeous, but also the way they filmed it all is very top notch. Those sequences from the drones add a cinematic experience to the viewer. As I always say it's not just a concert is a total spectacle.
Not to mention that Su-metal's vocals here and on the rest of the new songs are incredible (and this is just a studio version). And now even Moa has a death stare... awesome! They look dominant... they have to. Queen Su-metal and General Moametal own the stage and the whole freaking venue.
The next single is going to be released really soon... stay tuned!

You are an art major, and your explanations of visual effects such as lighting and costumes were very wonderful. I noticed many things. Thank you very much.
Since you have the visual covered, I thought I would mention an audio aspect, specificly Su's voice. Many have mentioned how much more mature it is, but not much mention of the thing that grabs me, the vibrado. Now it's not like we have never heard vibrado from Su before, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, it's never intentional, mostly when she is (understandably), a little short of breath. It seems to me that it's something she has been working on, and the effect is stunning.
Powerful eternal skillful perfect performance skills the young ladies of babymetal!
We've been calling Su-metal and Moametal queen and princess for the past 12 years but it always felt like something was missing.
Here we see that what was missing before is their throne and kingdom.

Yeah, the lighting is simply majestic, especially the vertical "columns", they form a bridge for those girls to walk from thrones to the awarding platform, super dramatic and effective. They also used similar platform for Papaya. I read some people mention there is another throne on the opposite side, likely for Moa and other dancers.
They match from opposite sides and reach the middle, almost on the same time, bet they rehearsal a lot on the pace and timing, well done.
The cinematography is also amazing, as if we are "flying through the dancers", I heard they used drone for some shots.
As far as stage design is concerned, my personal favorite is "the one", those girls ride a moving platform sailing high above the fans, hard to beat that. 🥰
Oh, the song has beautiful melody, super strong and heart ponding, the tight beat and beautiful chorus make even more dramatic, understandably nothing much on chorography and band though, considering it's an opening song, no much complaining.

Did you notice that after Moa and SU arrived to that circular stage in the middle, it started to rise? And the lights made as columns almost made it look like somthing was pulling it from above!

It was the song that started the day. Everyone sang it loudly. The two days passed in the blink of an eye as we became one with the returning BABYMETAL and the excitement of the crowd. Next, on April 1st and 2nd in Yokohama, it will be announced if another METAL will join or if BABYMETAL will change a lot. I got my ticket 😁I am a lucky man😭

I was lucky enough to be at the shows at Makuhari Messe on the 28th and 29th of January and I can say that it was absolutely spectacular to see live. While this song didn't feature much in the way of choreography, it was not indicative of the rest of the show, which had all the dancing you expect from a Babymetal show, and then some.
excellent content Venice-Metal, I think the staffs represent keys to the kingdom, ten keys, ten worlds, ten songs on the Other One, and Su and Moa's staffs have a different story, the little prong on the staffs could represent Moko-Metal's experience with metal music compared to Su and Moa, maybe that little prong will grow to fulfill the trident, in April.
Thanks for this reaction, you might say their is less choreography, but this was maybe the performance with the most drone choreography of Babymetal to date (at least for an opening, we have no official footage from the other songs, Yet !). A lot of the camera shots were done with drones, fans who were there confirmed it as well. Anyway... great opening from Babymetal. Very regal, fits with the song title.🙂
