    So great that you are enjoying your fountain pens and inks thoroughly! Your radiant smile on your video thumbnail says it all! Lovely selection of pens as well! And as you said, a great rainbow selection of all the primary colours! Oops, I've just realised I'm commenting on the wrong video! I'm meant to be commenting on the August pen and ink selections!! With the orange ink! And green ink! Haha! Your July inks were much more subdued colours!

      Hi Magdalena -- lol -- this happens to me when I am watching with my phone and tv You Tube synchronized ... I have had to delete comments and rewrite on the correct video ... in this case it's same subject/channel at least anyway!!!!! :) LOL :) No worries!!!!!

    Thank you Chris. I love the Diamine Strawberry. You're right, it is a happy colour. You've made a very interesting selection of pens and inks. I'm looking forward to your report.
    You're much better than I am at controlling the number of pens that you have inked. I have many more than eight; I can't help it.
    Thank you also for the book club recommendation.

    I love your pens. That Sakura is just gorgeous. All of your Benus are beautiful! You reminded me that I need to ink up wild strawberry again! And that grey Athena is so pretty. I am a grey lover!

      Hi @CheriRosePlans -- I'm wondering now how Laban Zeus will look in a M nib. I may try it as I am not going to replace my GVFC Stone Grey until my fast is over and until I use up some of the other grey inks I have. :)

    Hi Chris, i agree june seems to be flying by, maybe because I love the summer so much, even the 90-100*F . I have a nice fan where i work and as long as there’s no snow, I’m happy!
    Ive been looking at a new-for me- benu but with 3 birthdays in july, i should be fasting on pen buys!
    That book club sounds interesting ,i will go and have a look, thanks for the info!
    Happy july 4th.

      Hi Ann-Ingrid - I do remember loving summer much more when I was in a cooler climate (Vermont) then from 17 on I was in Oklahoma or Texas and I just greatly prefer all the other seasons. Here we only get 2 seasons with very few transition/mild days -- it's either hot or its bearable around these parts ... I have to count winter now since we do get arctic freezes sometimes too making things really challenging the way our homes are built. As I get older I do like the milder weather better but the drastic heat is still so hard ... especially with high humidity.

    Hey Chris, you have an interesting lineup of pens/inks for the coming month!! For me, I had been debating on getting a Scepter/Grand Scepter off & on for some time. I just can't decide right now. I've become more interested in flex writing, and recently got a Zebra G nib that I want to put in my Jinhao X750. I also recently acquired a Waterman's #14 that is close to 124 yrs. old that has a wonderful flexible gold nib. Asa-gao is one of my go-to blue inks. I've also decided to get the Sailor Manyo 5th anniversary Tsuyu, Ishi, & Yu inks. I also have Robert Oster Lake of Fire, and a bottle of River of Fire that I like a lot. So if you want a different color that is a green/teal and haven't tried it, give River of Fire a try. Enjoy the month!!

    • @ChrisSaenz13
      @ChrisSaenz13  3 месяца назад

      Hi @zeus52452 oh yes I did enjoy my sample of River of Fire too that is a fun ink with lots of sheen if I recall correctly!
      One thing I like about the Scepter is that it won't roll off the desk!!!! That and the astounding beauty of the pen body and the smooth nib too. :)
      Happy July!

    In British English 'sceptre' is spelt like that, so you don't have to worry whether the second vowel is an e or o!
    Broad nibs for letter writing! Now, I have never done that. Maybe I should challenge myself!
    The Wild Strawberry is a nice ink but I think I have enough red inks as it is for the foreseeable future.

    • @ChrisSaenz13
      @ChrisSaenz13  2 месяца назад

      Hi Christopher ... I think I will need to adapt the Brittish spelling for sceptre ... much easier lol. :) Yes, the Broad nibs are such fun because they show off the inks so beautifully. Of course it can make your writing look "bigger".

    Nice Benus, I'm more a Jinhao guy, yes my 9019 came in very handy when I cut a finger last month & couldn't grip any pen but my 9019. Now I see Jinhao is slimming them down (9016 and 9013). Always a wealth of information in the ink dept. that dark blue Iroshizuku and Robert Oster Lake of Fire made my wish list. The TWSBI Go reminds me of the Kaweco Sport too small for longer writing sessions.

    I am a big fan of wild strawberry but one of my favorite inks of all time is Noodler's Liberty's Elysium. It is a Goulet Exclusive but it is a gorgeous blue with some permanence. It does stain things Pink which is a bit surprising but also can be a turn off for some, but I love to have it in my TWSBI Eco Transparent Blue. It's a perfect match!

    1. I vastly prefer the Scepter shape of this Benu over their other shapes. Still can't deal with the glitter.
    2. Perhaps you already know, SBRE Brown has over a hundred videos on Stoicism. And of course he is extremely well-spoken, in English, since he's Dutch.
    3. This week I start a new project, a gigantic watercolor, 9' x 3.5'. Pen stuff will be less focussed and serious, for maybe a year, unless I finish/give up early.

    • @ChrisSaenz13
      @ChrisSaenz13  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Ichiro --- it's so funny because I went quite awhile thinking Benu pens were not for me ... that changed last year when I got my Talisman and then when the viewer sent me 3 Benu pens I had never seen in real life I found out I really love the Euphoria and the glitter ... it did surprise me!
      Yes, I've seen most of SBRE Brown's stoicism videos - they are great! I had been wanting to read Seneca's Letters for a long time but I wanted a community experience of it so I was pretty excited when that bookclub came up over on Accept the Universe' channel. Have fun with your watercolor!!!!!!!!

    I worked with a very talented interior designer that told me his secret whenever trying to find a color to work with a busy, colorful pattern was to pick the color that was the least found in the pattern - so your instinct for picking Louisiana ink for the Benu talisman cherry blossom was”genius” 😘

      Hi @SuSuSham oh cool -- it's rare for me to do anything remotely genius unless I'm viewing it from a sarcastic lens lol. :) I was surprised how pleasing the combination is. But don't ever ask me to choose wall paint. I have had some disasters I don't even like to think about. :)
