That show was a confluence of talent and an aggregate of genius--from Groucho's incredible wit and ad lib style, to Fenneman's "hidden" talent when he broke from his exceptionally smooth character, to the brilliant camera man (or men) who knew exactly where and when to do close ups of Groucho, or in this case, Melba--it was pure entertainment that can't be matched today.
This is one of best of You Bet Your Life!! Everyone seemed to have a good time. First, Melba was so funny and cute as a button. The pharmacist had a good sense of humor and enjoyed his time. Second, the look on Groucho’s face when George Fenniman said “I’d like to give you the money right now was a crack up!! George had a great laugh on this show and couple as well when Melba wiped his brow. Then Groucho quipped “Melba’s husband is at the Race Track While All of this is Going On “ 🙏🏻👼😎😎👼🙏🏻
Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this!!! I laughed and laughed! I needed a good laugh this morning Groucho was amazing -- -- Ive seen most of these -- hadn't seen this one -- Really would be fabulous if Groucho were here making more!! I truly hope he made it to Paradise -- I'd Love to meet him -- he could do a Fabulous comedy skit in Heaven 😊😁🤣😀😇😆😉 (Oh, and what idjet could give THIS a thumbs down, something wrong with people!😕)
She was the most uninhibited woman I think I’ve ever seen. This has become my Favorite You Bet Your Life Video. Always Enjoyed Watching and Listening to Groucho!! Melba Taylor just stole my Heart!!!
@@suzannemcmaken4648 yes she was. I’ll bet she was a darn good lyricist in her own right too. I would like to think she made some good out of her talent!!
@@cdgerhart Oh I have and yes, it too is a classic!! Unless I’m mistaken, Pedro Gonzales played in a John Wayne movie. I think it was Rio Bravo. With Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson and ( I can’t think of this very famous actor) walked with a gimp. He played Grandpa McCoy on “ The Real McCoys.) Well, Pedro Gonzales ran a Saloon/ Hotel. He and his wife ran it.
Does anyone have any details on the whereabouts of this Melba Taylor? Where was she from? What happened to her later in life ? Did she ever get a song published or play on a record?
I can’t watch this video enough!! It’s just so entertaining!! You know part of the enjoyment of watching You Bet Your Life is realizing that life ( though it may not have been ) was so much easier and lighter back then. I was a young boy at the time. Comparing life today to then, life and many people in it seems so much more chaotic and neurotic!! In 1957, the year this show aired, Chevrolet did something Great Too. The 1957 Chevy Impala. A Classic just like This Show!!

This is the most hilarious one to date. Melba Taylor is adorable. George charming. And, Groucho superb!

There is a GROUCHO channel!
This clip is not on the Groucho channel.
So the rest of it is not there either.
Oh, man, she's so cute ! Let me at her .
When was the last time you heard the Texaco jingle?

she's as ripe as a Georgian peach, I am trying to be polite here if you know what I mean. What's are the characteristics of a ripe peach?
