I just got the stick on short mic one for my national guitar. I just used a guitar cord and plugged into my amp to check it out. I put the mic into the F-hole. Absolute BEST pickup system I have ever used on a National. Forget the screw on you biscuit ones or stick on your cone ones. THIS IS REALLY GREAT.
Wade Older I totally agree! I just got Myers several weeks ago, and by far, the best system ever to amplify a Resophonic guitar. I have ordered two more! I prefer my setup with the mic over the coverplate, however putting the mic in the F-hole or grate (Tricone) will offer different tones.
Don't know if this comment section is still being looked at, but on the off chance it is, I have an extra wide cajon that has three playing surfaces: front, left, and right panel. Could I get away with using an original grip to gather all three sound sources, or would you recommend getting a model with more control?
Hey Jake, thanks for writing to us. You can plug in multiple ways. Because every amp and sound system is different it really is dependent on the set up. Have you tried plugging in right through 1/4"? That is always the most simple and easiest way to do it. If you are experiencing low gain you can plug into XLR input by means of a 1/4" to XLR cable or adapter. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions. Thanks!
@@myerspickups1192 I'm the live sound Engineer for an 8-person Irish folk band. On our accordion, we've been using 2 Shure Beta 98h/c condenser mics on it with pretty good results, going XLR direct into our board. We just bought the Grip this week (still in transit). Because the output of the Grip is 1/4, and my board input is XLR, I should use a DI. A different concern: monitor feedback due to omnidirectional. What can you tell me about that?
@@jakewright5570 Yes you're right it is omnidirectional but we have many and most musicians use their pickup in a live band setting and have no complaints of sound because the mic can be placed in the direction of the instrument and closely attached so you shouldn't run into an issue there. Aside from the d.i you can also plug into the mixer through the xlr with a 1/4" to xlr cable or adapter. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. My instrument is double bass. So my questions are : 1. Which type of Myers Pickup that suitable for my instrument ? 2. How much is it ? 3. Can i plug it straight to my amplifier ? Thanks really appreciate it ... 👍🙏😊
Hello Adriansyah, we apologize for the delay. For the double bass we would recommend the Grip-6" with Bass Clip package. I just purchased a vintage Oscar Schmidt autoharp! It doesn't have the hole in the center of the body! If I get a Myers "clamp" version, where would I even position the mic for best sound? Or would I perhaps need another type of pickup?
Hey Kylie, thanks for messaging us. You can choose from a number of our pickups all of which will ship to you in Tasmania right from our website. Here is a video of another dulcimer player ruclips.net/video/fipXVwPb5F4/видео.html. If you would prefer to attach the pickup onto your dulcimer then go for any of the grip series pickups. Hello John, sorry for the delay in response. The best pickup for your renaissance lute would be our Feather Pickup. We stand by each and every product we send out, unfortunately we can foresee each and every issue. However, we offer amazing customer support and we would have loved to walk you through the process of changing the battery, otherwise we would have sent you a new pickup at no charge. looks interesting.. does it work well for a percussive string instrument called Santoor similar to the hammered dulclimer , does it give the natural tone of the instrument, which has always been a challenge using pick ups ..curious to know..Please Help
Hello Deepak, thanks for reaching out with your question we would love to help! First, what a beautiful sounding instrument. The number one compliment we receive on our pickups, no matter the model, is how clear and natural the sound is coming through the pickup. It is by far the most important objective we strived for and we know you will love it. We called it a pickup because of the ease and application, however it is a microphone coming from the preamp that will give you the best sound possible. We have many with multiple microphones too so that you can hit all of the ranges of the Santoor. We standby our product and you can honestly try it and if you are not happy with it we will get you taken care of. Let us know if you have any other questions. Also, if you purchase it please send us some videos with the pickup and your Santoor because we would love to see it!
@@myerspickups1192 Thank you so much for the prompt Reply..Am seriously thinking of getting one..would be Helpful if you suggest the best suitable model for my application..would Happily share my recordings and spread it to many others who are facing the same challenge..Also let me know about specs like frequency response, sensitivity etc Thanks!!!
Deepak, I would recommend the Feather-2 Pickup system. This way you can have two microphones out of one preamp that can attach using mini suction cups. This way you can pickup a wider range of sound. The suction cups work best on a smooth surface. If your Santoor does not have a smooth finish, then you may be able to clip it to the sound hole (if yours has them) or to part of the bridge. The Feather model is by far the most versatile when it comes to being able to mount the microphones to your instrument. Hello. I play the violin. I've been doing research on pickup mics. In 1 month, I may be featuring in a marching band show. This, at this point all depends on the mic. I'm not aware of the system used. Do y'all's mics work with standard amps, such as a guitar Fender amp?
Thanks for writing us. Yes, our pickups work with standard amps. We recently put out a video showing some options to get the best sound out of your pickup. ruclips.net/video/USktm7lsy14/видео.html Our pickups have a 1/4 " jack so a standard instrument cable works well. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Myers Pickups I also was wondering if y'all's violin microphones will connect into and be compatible with the Yamaha 01V version 2 mixer? It's a system used in my school's band that's vital to balancing the 3 keyboards and stand up mics for soloists. Since I may be a soloist, I wanted a violin mic that will work with their system. Thank you!
Hello, thanks for writing us again! Yes, our pickups are compatible with this Mixer. I would suggest plugging into one of the XLR inputs on the mixer just as you would with any other microphone. We sell an adapter on our website that allows you to still use any 1/4" instrument cable. Also just make sure that the phantom power is turned off on your channel. Phantom Power won't affect your pickups ability to capture your violin's sound, but it can cause a small static sound when turning the volume knob up and down. You will love the raw and natural sound you get from our pickups, perfect for any solo. Let me know if this helps. We also have a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee so you have got nothing to lose.
