I seriously never heard of anyone breaking the steering cylinder before on a BX.. please let me know!

It sure was Jay. Sounds like you had a pretty sketchy Job yourself! Can’t wait to see it, you get a lot of use out of that tiller I need to get one myself

This trailer was a 5x12, if you check out my most recent video I show where I just finally sold that trailer but I talked about it’s size before I did.. I ended up buying a 6x15 car hauler trailer instead. Lmk if you can’t find the video, I give the ups and downs to owning a trailer like this 👍🏻
Hey Mike, i haven`t seen anything about the (upgraded?) injection pump, unless i missed it. Have you noticed much of a difference in power and fuel usage since you did it???
Hey buddy, no I havnt noticed a huge difference in fuel consumption so far and as for power it’s honestly tough to tell as I havnt really done any work yet that would show me.. If I was running some PTO attachments I’d be able to get a sense of the extra power.. I really want to find a PTO dyno so I can test it and see where it’s at now. I havnt done an update video but it’s been on my list of videos to do, everytime I lug the tractor and watch it smoke it reminds me I need to do a video on the pump modification lol. Hopefully soon! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I also have a turbo for my BX, I fully rebuilt the turbo over the winter months and started building the turbo setup for my tractor but then I ran out of time to work on the project. Once I finish my new garage I plan to start back up on the turbo kit project so I’ll keep you guys posted on that as well
@@BiffsEquipment Yessssss sir, i hope to see that garage going up soon. I`ll make the trip up soon, as i told you i already have something for you for your garage. Later my friend.

I really liked this vid, that’s a pretty awesome bucket!! I want a bx or 1025r so bad! I like the bx more but I saw a video of the 1025 lifting more so I dunno
Thanks man! Both are quality machines for sure, you can’t go wrong with either one of these machines. The Deere has more lift for sure and has a larger bucket, but has less torque than the Kubota and less PTO HP. The Kubota can also lift more with the 3-point than the Deere but both 3-point lift capacity’s are more than you’ll ever need. The Deere has a better sound to the engine IMO with the yanmar diesel but the Kubota diesel is overall a more powerful motor punch for punch. Both tractors have strong trans/front axles (you’d have to try VERY hard to break them) The Deere also has a slightly larger foot print being a touch longer and a touch wider and the Deere also turns tighter than the BX which is quite impressive giving it’s slightly larger wheel base. If I were you I’d go with whichever machine you get a better deal on.. or whichever dealer has a better record of taking care of their customers.. lastly sit on both machines and test them for yourself first.. as you may like how one drives/feels far better than the other as every person is different, plus be sure to feel the hydraulic functions of both machines to see which feels better to you👍🏻
@@BiffsEquipment that was a great write up a lot of good info if I end up getting one it will probably be whatever I find for sale in my area, it seems like all the rental places around here all have kubotas I haven’t seen one Deere but I would like to test both
Hey sorry I’m just seeing your comment! So the reason you can’t put a bracket or weights on the front is because they would interfere with the front end loader.. I actually have a custom front weight bracket that I built and made a whole RUclips video on building it.. I use it when the loader is off when I need more weight in the front or for when I mow my lawn as I have a lot of steep inclines to go up.. I have actually forgotten to take the front weight bracket off before installing the loader before and this is how I know that it hits the loader frame haha 😆. It would be nice if there was a way to do both but there’s not.. but it’s not really needed anyways.. you can manipulate your tractor to put quite a bit of downforce on the loader all on its own if you do it right. Thanks for watching and check out my more recent videos!
Thanks Chris! The trailer I used in this video was a 5x12.. it JUST fit the tractor, loader, and rear weights. But I would recommend at least a 5x12 or 6x12 tandem axle because of the weight to be on the safe side. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Eric! The bungiee is there because when I made my custom exhaust stack years ago I never fully finished it so the stack pipe going through the hood rattles, I keep the bungiee there so it holds it more still and quiets it down quite a bit. I am gonna be making a fully new and much more functional exhaust stack though soon and plan to put it on my RUclips channel if anyone wants to do it themselves. It’s gonna be pretty easy to diy
I just bought an 1860 this week. Where do you get your attachments from besides straight from Kubota. I've had a somewhat difficult time finding decent attachments. And nothing like what you have in this video like with the stump bucket and the counter weight holder on the rear.
Hey man, I actually buy a lot of my products from all over the Internet and other stores.. I do buy a lot from kubota also but it’s mostly maint. Parts. If you go to my channel and click on the “playlists” tab.. you’ll find a playlist that is dedicated to upgrading my kubota BX.. there you can skim through and watch any upgrade video that you might like yourself and I show how to install it and explain where I got it from and how much. To start you off tho here’s a video I made a super long time ago talking about the “quick hitch” and how I built my “weight bracket” and where I got the weights too I think. ruclips.net/video/yDOuC2Aldi8/видео.html (just remember this video is super old) lol
You mention the new 24 inch stump bucket, I just ordered one for my MF GC1723. I was worried it would be too big but it’s only about 12 pounds heavier. Hopefully I made the right choice. I’m interested to hear your thoughts once you’ve used it.
Awesome man! I will def let you guys know my thoughts, the one thing that’s really nice about the 24” is you not only have a better sight on the end of the bucket to what your trying to dig but you can also dig much deeper which is huge in certain situations.. you’ll def loose a little bit of leverage on a sub compact tractor because of the extra length but if your a good operator you’ll be able to overcome it by manipulating your loader for extra leverage when you need it. I plan to do a dedicated video on the 24” bucket so I can show what it does on a sub compact as well as give my thoughts on it after using the smaller 16” for a few summers now. Thanks for watching!
Man. I was nervous for you on those hills! lol. I am actually going to order those add-on teeth. They seem to work really well. Could you have flipped the bucket upside down to give you more leverage and pulling backwords???
Thanks Andy, it was pretty sketchy (even for me!) haha. As for flipping the bucket upside down, you can do this as Iv done it in the past to clean the root balls off of stumps but in this situation it wouldn’t have helped give me any leverage because the issue was I couldn’t get enough down force from the above my tractor was at.. reversing the bucket woulda only made things worse as it woulda put the bucket teeth even farther from my loader thus loosing even more down pressure. Thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoyed!
Haha yes a backhoe certainly woulda been much safer on these steep slopes! I wish I had one.. i hope to buy a mini excavator soon tho so I won’t have to.. cuz the cost of adding a backhoe after the fact is very pricey.. and for just a bit more you can buy a totally separate machine to do it.. which is why I never bought a backhoe after all these years tho I would certainly love it if I owned one!
I just got a bx23s and I’m thinking about doing some small jobs. How do you estimate your price? Like on a job like this removing some shrubs and light clean up?
Can the stump bucket be put on the fork frame offset from the center? If so, next time you can just slide it over so you can get a little closer to the edge.
Yes it could have, I kinda wish I had done this but in the moment I felt it was easier to just attack it from a differnt angle.. now after watching the difficultly I had with that bush I wish I woulda just shifted the bucket over to the right side and I think I woulda had that last large bush out much faster. Thanks for watching!
@@BiffsEquipment I had a similar thing happen to me. I was using my fork to remove a bush and I was having trouble with a weird angle. The wife came out and pointed out that I could just move the forks all the way to the side. It worked perfect! Great video's btw, I think I've watched them all. Bought a bx2680 after being impressed with what I saw you do with your bx. Keep em coming brotha!
@@andrewgold7110 awesome man thanks I really appreciate it, I’m glad I was able to help sell you a Bx and glad your getting a lot from my videos. Thanks for your comment and stay safe out there, enjoy your new BX!
With my Kubota, BX, 2380, l Wanted to do some stump removal and Biffs VIDEO encouraged me to go purchase a stump bucket from Landpride. I can’t wait for the weather to break so I can actually put the front and loader back on and try out the stump bucket!
You mean the skidsteer mount for your loader? I’m assuming your bucket is directly pinned to the loader? If so then you should call your local Kubota dealer, tell them you want to order the bx80 series skidsteer coupler.. it will fit any bx loader that’s a 50, 60, 70, or 80 series. Lmk how you make out 👍🏻
Hey David, so Iv used a 5x12 single axle trailer for many years now but I will say it’s not quite enough for these tractors.. you’ll want a bare minimum 6x12 tandem axle with out a backhoe.. with a backhoe you’ll want a 6x14 or 6x16.. my trailer had a heavy duty 3500lb axle under it which was why I was able to get away with it all these years but it was still at its max capacity and I would wear the inside of my trailer tires out because of it. I just recently purchased a new 6x15 tandem axle trailer which I’ll be showing in my new video this week so stay tuned! I explain why I upgraded it and it should help you answer some of your questions/concerns
One of the stupidest thing I did was sell my bx man I miss that thing ,I had a bx 23s man that thing was a beast for it's size but I'm thinking about get another one but a little bigger
Haha damn! I hate when you sell something and immediately regret it.. I think we have all been there before! A lot of guys buy a Bx and sell it before they truely have a chance to learn it and find out what all it can actually do.. they just assume or feel it’s too small when often it’s the operator who just isn’t using it correctly. Sounds like you have a good game plan tho.. I would HIGHLY suggest going with the B2601 or something similar specially if you liked your kubota BX.. the B2601 would be my next tractor for sure if I ever upgraded to something larger. Also the John Deere 2038R turbo is another awesome machine but it’s much harder to see the bucket and to do grading with but like anything else.. once you get use to it you’ll be fine.. it’s just a bit harder to learn on than say a B2601 IMO. Best of luck!
Thanks Trevor! That’s exactly what my thought has been for years, buying a mini ex to go with my Kubota BX has been on my list of things to buy for a long time now. I want to buy something like the Bobcat E20 or similar .. I think Thad go perfect with my BX and plan to eventually buy a 14 or 16’ trailer as well. Thanks for watching!
Hey Terry, I use 8 42lb weights, plus my tires are filled, plus I have the quick hitch, and I also have 2” wheel spacers. Def makes a huge difference in stability and traction with these machines. The more weight you Can stick on them the more productive they become. Thanks for watching!
I'd be willing to bet that your receiver has been overloaded a time or two judging by the angle that hitch comes out at, might want to check there are no stress fractures in the receiver so you don't lose a load going down the road!
Lol at first you confused me but now I know what your talking about. The reviver on my truck is at a slight angle downward because the previous owner actually built it himself.. when he built it he never welded it straight.. so it’s at a slight angle downward.. it’s not bent or cracked it’s just the way the guy built it. At some point I’d like to get a new one but there’s nothing wrong with it aside from it being at a slight downward angle
Truck looks good not too much rust. What's your secret? I started doing rust repair on my 2013 Suburban and it's got a spot right thru the rear fender already. My county salts a LOT in winter.
The truck I have is a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins 24 valve, it actually came from New Mexico which is why the paint is faded and why the clear coat is roached but because it came from such a hot/dry climate it stayed rust free it’s entire life. I live in NY where we get lots of snow and where we use TONS of salt so what I do each year is I undercoat the truck myself with oil.. I do it myself so I know it’s done well and done right and so far I havnt had any issues with rust, tho I am finally starting to get some surface rust on areas where the paint was rubbed off or chipped so those areas I try to keep covered in fresh paint/oil before every winter.. I need to hit those spots again this summer before the surface rust turns to rot but so far fingers crossed it’s been doing really good.. usually as long as you can keep the air off the bare metal it won’t rust.. so keeping it painted or oil coated will keep it from rusting since no air will be able to hit the metal.. that’s the key.. keeping the bare metal covered and washing your truck regularly in the winter to keep the salt off it. Hope this helps!
Hey Eli.. I usually run it between 2400 and 2800 I believe.. I really don’t pay much attention to the actual RPM tho unless I’m running a PTO implement or mower.. I usually just go by feel and by sound.. you want the rpm up enough so that you have nice smooth hydraulics but you don’t want it so high that your burning unnecessary fuel and to where your loader may become jerky so each situation is a bit different but I found 2600ish is usually the sweet spot. Thanks for watching!
With my rear tires filled, my 8x 42lb suitcase weights, my rear quick hitch along with my weight bracket it’s about 600-650lbs I think .. usually anywhere between 400-500lbs is good tho for most users but I have my hydraulic pressure cranked to over 2,400psi so I needed more ballast to keep it well planted and digging well
It’s kind of tough to explain.. since Iv been doing it so long now I usually price it by the job instead of by the hour.. since I can usually look at a job and know what kind of work it’s gonna take me to complete it and how much time.. I also try and factor in the amount of work my tractor will be doing.. the harder I have to work my tractor the more I’ll charge usually.. if it’s light work for the tractor then I charge less.. this kind of makes up for wear/tear and maint costs. Also don’t forget that every state, and every town is differnt.. some areas people have lots of money and yoi can get away with $150 an hour, other places people don’t have much money so they going rate would be maybe $60 an hour.. so it’s always a tough question to answer for people. Thanks for watching!
I did actually haha. But I have never had an issue starving out my BX on a slope.. maybe in just been lucky or never had the tank low when I was at such an angle but I’ve mowed some extreme slopes on my property with a near empty tank and never had an issue so I’m not sure
Stump bucket for the win. Nice control on the step hill and next to house foundation.

I’ll be using this stump bucket again in my next video to dig a trench for my new gas line so stay tuned! Thanks for watching
Another Great Vid.. Good Job Biff!
Thanks Mac, hope your doing well man!
Great job
Thanks Todd, hope your doing well!
@@BiffsEquipment I broke the steering cylinder on my tractor took it to a hydraulic shop they said $1300+ so I bought a new one for $812 total
@@toddcaskey9984 holy crap are you kidding?! How did you break it? I remember pricing one through Kubota they told me about $800 because I thought I might need to replace it back when my steering was all sloppy but then I replaced my steering cylinder brackets and tie rods which fixed the issue.. did you end up smacking it off something? I seriously never heard of anyone breaking the steering cylinder before on a BX.. please let me know!
@@BiffsEquipment I'll take some pictures of it and send it to ya .
That was some spooky work. Those teeth seemed to work well. I just did a job yesterday where I had to climb up a bluff on the Illinois River bluff to till a couple food plots.
It sure was Jay. Sounds like you had a pretty sketchy Job yourself! Can’t wait to see it, you get a lot of use out of that tiller I need to get one myself
I enjoy every video you post.
I'm waiting on my BX for six month already. What a shame.
Thanks buddy I’m glad to hear that! It’s a lot of work making these videos and adds a lot of extra work to the jobs I do but it’s worth it in the end both for me and my subscribers so I’m happy to do it specially if you guys are enjoying them. As for your new BX hopefully you get it soon! I know dealers have been hard up for equipment and really behind since COVID but hopefully it won’t be much longer till you get it.. I’m sure your dying to try it out!
What size trailer is that you have?
Once I finish my new garage I plan to start back up on the turbo kit project so I’ll keep you guys posted on that as well
@@BiffsEquipment Thanks Mike, hope to hear more about it when you get the time. Love your videos. I watch all them when your post them.
@@BiffsEquipment
Yessssss sir, i hope to see that garage going up soon. I`ll make the trip up soon, as i told you i already have something for you for your garage. Later my friend.
@@D70340 sounds good buddy! Yes I am stoked, I actually ordered the building jist the other day so I’m 2-3 weeks I should be picking up all the materials.. I’m def excited .. gonna be a lot of work this summer
Very good video thank you
Thanks buddy! Hope you have a happy Easter! Sorry I’m just seeing your comment!
If I were you I’d go with whichever machine you get a better deal on.. or whichever dealer has a better record of taking care of their customers.. lastly sit on both machines and test them for yourself first.. as you may like how one drives/feels far better than the other as every person is different, plus be sure to feel the hydraulic functions of both machines to see which feels better to you👍🏻
@@BiffsEquipment that was a great write up a lot of good info if I end up getting one it will probably be whatever I find for sale in my area, it seems like all the rental places around here all have kubotas I haven’t seen one Deere but I would like to test both
Why not get a suitcase weight bracket for the front? Would the extra weight help when using the stump bucket?
I really enjoy your videos. What size trailer do you put the tractor on if you don't mine me asking
Thanks Chris! The trailer I used in this video was a 5x12.. it JUST fit the tractor, loader, and rear weights. But I would recommend at least a 5x12 or 6x12 tandem axle because of the weight to be on the safe side. Thanks for watching!
What's with the bungie cord on the exhaust pipe ?
Great videos by the way, wish I could control my bucket like you do ! :o)
Thanks!
That's why I like my backhoe, I can put the outriggers flat out so no tipping like training wheels!
Where do I find the attachment to be able to remove my bucket and attach a stump bucket? My bucket is attached. Love the videos too.
Lmk how you make out 👍🏻
@@BiffsEquipment ok, thanks. Good information. Once, I get that far, I will let you know how it is going.
just bought new iseki mini tractor so hoping its as good as kubota, about same size as yours txgs24 looks about same size.
Very cool man! How you liking it?
@BiffsEquipment it's good tractor not had lot of chance to use it this year because of wet weather chews everything up.
What size trailer do you use? I keep hearing people say that I will need a double axle but it looks like we have the same size tractor.
If you had say a 1.8 ton excavator as well in your inventory you could pretty much handle anything that came your way Biff.
Thanks for watching!
how much suitcase weight do you use
What rpm do you run at when doing work like this?
How much weight is on back of tractor
With my rear tires filled, my 8x 42lb suitcase weights, my rear quick hitch along with my weight bracket it’s about 600-650lbs I think .. usually anywhere between 400-500lbs is good tho for most users but I have my hydraulic pressure cranked to over 2,400psi so I needed more ballast to keep it well planted and digging well
How do you price a job like that?
FIRST!
You must have had a full tank of fuel. Mine starts starving for fuel at angles like that.
I did actually haha. But I have never had an issue starving out my BX on a slope.. maybe in just been lucky or never had the tank low when I was at such an angle but I’ve mowed some extreme slopes on my property with a near empty tank and never had an issue so I’m not sure
