Picture a carriage with a blade going out a few hundred feet, then a 20 foot blade perpendicular on the front. A giant in armor pushing a wheelbarrow of death that is backhoing an entire army. It would look like a dude vacuuming a battlefield leaving nothing but men that have been bisected in his wake. He'd be the equivalent of a weapon of mass destruction.
All he needs is a telephone pole sized stick, battle complexion changed. It'd be like watching Sauron mowing down soldiers in the Fellowship of the Ring flashback, the difference is cutting off Wun's Wun's finger won't stop him.
Totally agree that they should have armed / armoured Wun Wun, and it would have not taken much to do so. Take a house door and fix straps to it, one giant sized shield, then a stout branch or tree trunk for a weapon and he would have been unstoppable. As for Ramsay not seeing Sansa's approach. He might have been aware that an army from the Vale were in the area, but believing that they would move at the speed of the slowest units (i.e. infantry), he thought they were too far away to reach the battle field in time. Given that it was just cavalry that took part in the battle, it could be that they left their infantry support behind in order to get to the battle in time, thus moving faster than Ramsay allowed for.

The key to avoiding arrows would be to change your velocity after they fire. if you "zigzag" too efficiently you still have a 50/50 chance of getting hit by the same arrows
Well in reality once you've reached a certain distance you could just slow jog backwards and watch for when he fires and then take a single step to the side. In fact even if it was a single shot rifle, if you could see when its fired, at a certain distance the bullet takes longer to arrive than you would take to move to the side. If you know you are about to be fired upon it becomes a matter of luck for the shooter to hit you. For example an assault rifle fires perhaps 800meters per second. A human running fast can easily move faster than 10 meters per second. So if you were 800meters away from a guy with a rifle who can only fire one shot before reloading, it would be impossible to hit deliberately, since he'd have to guess your location in one seconds time perfectly. Unlike bullet arrows are much slower and can be seen as well as it being visible the very moment he releases the bow, you could just play dodgeball with him really. An arrow is only 3-4times faster than a ball thrown in dodgeball. So even at dodgeball distances x4 you'd have a decent chance at dodging it. Which means even at less than 100 meters.

Sorry, but y miss most crucial point in friendly fire thing - majority of horsemen are rich noble people, who can afford horse and weapons and armor (count each one as a premium class car nowadays). Such friendly fire could have been possibly overlooked if it targeted dirt poor man at arms, not the top of social ledder warriors. Most likely Ramsey wouldn't have not seen the end of a week after this stunt.

Nothing about it is true. Apart from Sansa not telling Jon about the knights of the Vale, all of the other wrongdoings are only visible after a close look analysis. And even after the analysis, it is still the most amazing battle ever shown on screen visually
International General Network
You should show this guy a video of Chivalry 2
React to fields of fire next!!!
This is the episode that lost GoT to Hollywood… right on point
Lack of helmets... it's presumably so we can see the actor's faces better.
Where's your ditch?!
Why did no scouts report to Ramsey? Maybe the North remembers. Maybe Littlefinger has inside men. Could be a few reasons.
The knights of the Vale are wearing helmets.
regarding the scouts you mentioned Little finger said once money can buy a man's silence for a while but a bolt to the heart by it's for life so buy them off then silence them
Helmets cost money man! :)
Hollywood..
Battle of the Bastards is wildly overrated; Battle of Castle Black is far superior
That depends on what you value the most. Tactically, you're totally right. But visually the Battle of the Bastards is the most amazing battle ever shown on screen
Castle black and the blackwater are a million times better than battle of the bastards
Rickon didnt zig zag cause if ramsey knew he wouldnt kill him, then he would just get his archers to volley fire on him, meaning he would 100% be killed. So he would have a better chance just running
Snow had plot armor and helmet. What are you talking about?
Can he react to anime next?
@Louy Abdulghani
Probably Record of Lodoss, Aura Battler Dubine, and Berserk
Kingdom anime pls
Sword Art Online pls.

Ehhh you spelled it 'armour' nice
Giant? Massive Bow and large arrows. Mace and shield
Ninja theory video games are cool
as for Ramsay not getting any notice of Sansa and the army of the Vale, he could have very well sent scouts out, and they got caught & killed or just captured. but Ramsay is also the very arrogant, self-assured type who tends to laser focus on things that catch his interest, so it's certainly possible he neglected to send out scouts because he's convinced of his own victory and of the Bolton's control over the North.
You don't want to cover the big actors face with a helmet and so you can show emotional performance
Then can you give them open-faced helmets or have them raise the visor for key moments?
What if jon was tiered and wanted to keep up his phase with Ramsy's arrows so he dropped some weight by dropping the long sword
Not sure why he'd keep holding the sword. Once he gets to melee range, the fight is over anyway cause we know Jon is by far the superior fighter.
We know
They don’t
@@guciowitomski3825 they do, that's why Jon tried to make it a 1v1 before the battle (he knew he'd win) and Ramsay refused (he knew it too). Ramsay barely fights at all and has heard Jon is the best swordsman that ever lived.
Wonder why this is being discussed now after 6 years ? We knew that things portrayed in TV shows / movies can never be accurate to reality....we still watch it for fun 😊
Because the new series is launching next month, and BoB was maybe one of the greatest episodes of all time
"because its not based on reality it can be inaccurate" you just saying the obvious for no reason or?
Because we react to older movies too lol. People still talk about Troy, for one.
Yes they can, if you make something ridiculously out of line, your show is going to get grilled. Even the poorest soldiers wore head protection in battle, not that difficult to afford a sallet or kettle helm
Oh the Video is knew
reviewed everything but Jon's scenes of him actually fighting with the sword
👍🏻
I'm just rewatching GOT. Holy crap this battle is ridiculous. 🙄
My question is did two handed pikes ever exist? I'd say probably not
Pikes are inherently two handed though due to their length, it's why they're great for defending key positions or against charges. Besides which you can literally look up Pikes as weapons and see that they would completely need two hands since they're like twice the height of a normal man.
they have a giant and their strategy was nothing. That's why Jon snow should have lost.
Serpentine you fool!!! Serpentine...
Every battle in GoT's is totally wrong.Jon Snow in this battle should have been stripped of command for charging out on his own which almost led his army to disaster.
british northernlion
Two horses colliding at 30 mph would not double the impact speed to 60. They would still only be at 30. Which is still devastating.
Uh.... might want to take your 7th grade physics class again.
How does one become a "sword expert" 🤔
The same way you become an expert in anything, research, education, and application
The incirclement is so dumb; even without Wun Wun (who could smash through instantly) they could easily breakout
he's also an elf, lol
