If my engine is currently in my vehicle, can I do the same procedure with the engine right side up? Will the black RTV hold the gasket in place against the block or will gravity cause the gasket to fall off before I can get the pan installed?

I was always told not to use sealant
on gaskets
if you use a felpro rubber one piece kit its so much easier and seals better in long run. never.been a fan of cork gaskets
Do I use rtv on a one piece rubber gasket?
NO RTV with cork gaskets!
Spend a couple extra bucks and buy a good gasket.
If you must use a gasket sealant; use a non hardening solvent based sealant like Hylomar. Permatex permashield or anaerobic gasket makers.
The only place RTV belongs is in the trash.
if you wanna use rtv just use rtv why both.. whats the point of using cork if your gonna just slap rtv all over why not just rtv and thats it ?
How tough do you think this would be on a 67-72 body style c10 w 86 and up 350 without removing the motor? 🤔

@@redfrostywolf1330 I did! and it went well no more leaks. Be prepared to remove the cross member and fight around the oil pump. Depending on the vehicle it can get tight.
Also, I got oil absolutely everywhere. I would suggest draining the oil, then letting everything sit overnight, spinning the crank shaft every once in a while to get everything to stop dripping. And do it right the first time, because you won't be itching to do it twice.
