But what if I'm not thankful to be alive? I never asked to be born. I never asked to struggle in this "wonderful life" Only thing I'm thankful for is the ability to watch Garrett and get a break of all of the absolute BULLSHIT in life.
Although I don't finger board, I like the projects for the drops. There is something very cool about people seeing you invest the work into the projects and then being able to turn around and show support during the drop.
Great job with the concrete curbs! 👍🏻 Tips for the wet sanding. Leave the 600 paper you use for the last finish (after clear coating) soaking in the water. When i do paint jobs (with 1800-3000 thou), i let the papaer soak in water overnight. And rinse the paper often during sanding to get the clear cote as scratch free as possible 👍🏻
Ur sanding process is cool, clear coat process is cool, if you hit that clear with a nice polish it will be smooth as glass👍 Try having a bucket full of water and just dunking it as you need it, once the water is super cloudy just change it out 😎 also remember, let the sandpaper do it's sandpaper thing, you don't need much pressure on it, friction will serve it's purpose
Hey Garrett, maybe you could use a bucket of water and just dunk the obstacles in it. You would have to replace the water eventually but at least you can move it anywhere so you don’t have to lean over the sink to sand the obstacles. Also happy thanksgiving!!!
Wet sanding works well for gummy material from clogging your sandpaper and reduces dust, and people say it sorta “doubles” the grit of your sandpaper (usually in finer sand papers). 600 grit wet sanded could be thought of closer to 1200 grit
With wet sanding I learned in auto body at school we always used paint sticks wrapped the sandpaper around it and soaked it in warm water makes for a even sand🤙 but they look awesome can’t wait to buy one 👍 happy thanksgiving
hey dude, i would recommend getting a hard wet rubbing block to sand them down, you kinda just wrap the paper around the block. itll just be easier to flatten them and smooth out the scratches from previous grits. wet rubbing doesnt clog the paper and reduces dust, gives you a smoother finish with too. might be easier to just run it under the water the whole time rubbing them or just rub them submerged in a bucket or something
25:46 to answer your question, on flat ground you are lifting your finger in the air right before you pop, that is a method to get used to doing nollie and switch tricks, makes it a bit easier. On the ledge, you are holding a nosegrind, so your finger is already making contact with the deck when you pop, so you don't get the same pop force therefore making the trick execution different. I'd say just practice NOT lifting your finger before you pop nollie/switch and you'll improve when it comes to nollie tricks out of ledges, rails, etc
i just want to say about your fingerboard consistency discussion, i think its mostly because you probably dont practice it consistently enough, im sure sometimes in your life you get busy with other stuff and maybe you dont fingerboard for a while. You said even though you can kickflip on a fingerboard for 10 years, you can rarely do 3 in a row. I think thats what it comes down to. I can do 20 in a row sometimes, but i dont practice real skateboarding and i work at a computer and constantly have my fingerboard on my desk so i can just do kickflips with my eyes closed lol it just comes with consistent practice like anything else
If you’re really concerned. Sand length wise with one grit then the opposite with the next and so on. You should be able to see the scratches being removed. You could also use a guide coat in between grits. And if you want to go even faster purchase a DA sander. Otherwise the amount of wetness looks fine it just helps with the paper gumming up and less dust in the air for you to breathe in. Also the higher the grit you kind of have to wet sand.
Maybe you already figured this out but wet vs dry is all about finish va removal. You'll remove more with dry sanding but a rougher finish. With wet sanding its harder to remove stuff as quickly but you'll get a smoother finish.
Love seeing these videos, Im starting my own company like this in nz, I did quality assurance for polyurethane moulded components and also made a few polyurethane molds myself. Going to make some urethane wheels and concrete and wooden obstacles. Will be starting to grow my channel after I graduate this year 🥳
Just found out you CAN Merlin Twist on a fingerboard (shout out to Rory & GunfunFB) ....Imma need that MT on a regular board and fingerboard now my brother 😃 Oh! ...Gonna need some dark slide tricks now too
nollie flip out is a different angle so it’s harder to get the flip out. Just be happy you can nollie and switch heel. I feel like my brain breaks when i try to do them
The reason your struggling with nollie flip out of nose grind is bc you take your front finger off for a slipt second when you do it regularly. When your balanced in nose grind you can't take your finger off for that extra pop.
Do you have a link to buy the light you’re using while fingerboarding? I think it looks cool having that in a dark room. It’s like you’re filming a Berrics Bangin video.
I got mine from Best Buy in person and I forget what it was called. I’m sure there’s a ton on Amazon. I’d probably search “hotshoe mount camera light” or something along those lines
i have the same problem with fb, i spend so much time and effort and if need to i do sometimes a great trick or combo but the other day i can't even kickflip on flat :D
For anyone who is not happy, be thankful that you’re alive! A wounded dog is still stronger than a dead lion.

That garage door opening moment has the same vibe and energy as The price is right, and I'm all for it Bob!
just wanted to say your videos and consistency have motivated me to get back to making my own videos
Lunch break is boring without your videos

Agreed! Half (if not more) of the fun for me is actually creating them. Getting to use them is just a plus 😉
You do have wax. Remember your parents brought you your old box , the last time i saw them was in your garage on the paint shelf.😊
Hahah he totally does

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Homestead, Man.

I just got home from a party and it is 4:47 am. Hearing you say you woke up at 4:45 am tripped me out so much. 😂

Yeeeeeesss, more fb content!!! You inspire me to continue my own fb content every time you upload another fb video!!!! Thank you!
Nothing wrong with being a grown man and playing with toys! Do whatever makes you happy!!
I’m a grown man who fingerboards too. Mainly because I’m over 40 and haven’t skated since I was 18. My favorite fingerboard grind is switch shuv 5-0.
gerrett your beard looks great and im proud of you for going to therapy

Small idea, but huge benefits. Leaning over the sink is not fun
You actually got a lot done , well done , the obstacles look great, happy thanksgiving’s, peace ✌️
