I’m so blessed to live near a Mennonite store! I buy big rounds of the most delicious butter from Amish farms. Those go into my freezer. I buy bulk blocks of cheese and deli meats. There are fabulous pies made of black raspberries or sour cherries. I buy pantry staples in bulk like flour, wheat berries and oatmeal. I buy bulk dry beans and split peas. They stock everything I need for baking. I support the wonderful people who provide the small town with services and resources. If you’ve got a store like this in your area, you should too. Thanks Rachel and Todd for sharing.
Rachel, I just rewatched last years Canuary video “canning dried beans! My New Year’s resolution was to Process one food every day during Canuary. Yesterday I canned 12 pints of rotisserie chicken, 3 pints os chicken stock, and 9 pints of chicken bone broth. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me.
Wow, you was sooome busy, good for you. I've been under the weather w my back so unable to do any lengthy process in the kitchen, I still will find my way in there for some kitchen function, and then I pay if I work too much so I really have to pace myself.
I love watching you two. Yue have a wonderful chemistry. I like when you show us around outside. I miss being in Michigan. Detroit. But I loved driving in the country. Our last house was on Telegraph Rd in Taylor on ten acres. My parents rented the house but I wanted to buy it when they moved to Georgia. The owners decided to keep it after all. I ended up moving down to Georgia with them. We have an urban homestead because my wife is a city girl. I am trying to get her to move back to Michigan but so far, no go.
I love going up to Shipshewana in northern IN to the Amish shops up there. Fun story, when we were up there one time we were looking for one of the Weavers brand of seasonings, like farm dust. Couldn’t find what we were looking for, and very nice lady told us that her dad was the maker of Weavers seasoning and offered to take us to her dad’s house, because he surely had some there. I was blown away at her trusting kindness. We didn’t take her up on her offer, and found what we were looking for at the store. But how very nice!
I wish they had stores like that around here. I love to bake, and I've never heard of lemon chips or cinnamon chips! Looked like they have a lot of great stuff!
We live relatively close to the Dutchman’s Store (Mennonite owned) in Iowa and love shopping their deals. They originally started out as a store with 3 aisle back in 1988 (I think) but kept expanding and now takes up almost a whole city block. They have built a new building outside of town but have run into some issues with government bureaucracy. ☹️ We also visit an Amish run store about 20 miles to the West of Dutchman’s and another Mennonite owned (a niece of Dutchman’s) 20 miles to the South in MO. This last Fall we found another discount store in the town we get our taxes done in MO, so we’ll be stopping there again.
Happy New Year 🎆 I am so thankful for stores like those. Azure isn't an option in Canada. You had some good fines. Here, not all the kitchen Ware's are best price but I enjoy supporting our communities. Enjoy!
Growing up my grandma would go.twice a year to Napanee IN to stock up on groceries at various Amish stores. She would buy pie crusts and filling and pantry staples. Now I'm thankful to have a Mennonite store in my town and two more not that far away❤
Oh, I purchased some cranberry beans also this year. Found a bean farm close to where I live, I picked up 10 pounds of kidney, navy, black and cranberry, I think I over did it on the purchase.
I live in north central Missouri and there is a huge Amish Mennonite presence and we have a lot of Mennonite and Amish ran stores. I love it I do a majority of my shopping at those places ❤️
The closest, largest Amish grocery store to here is Fountain Acres & one of the things I've really liked is their bulk spice department. They have a bunch of different seasonings for making your own sausage. They're ALL delish!
Oooooo, I don’t have stores like that within 100 miles. Which, in all honestly, is probably for the best. “Deli” & “Bakery” are two of my favorite words. I’m going to have to tell my son about WP, though. He goes past that area rather often.
The 2nd store you went to looks so much like our Amish store here in Arthur, IL. I love that place! I really would like to get some wheat, but I don't have a food mill yet.
Rachel, yes on dairydoo! I started using it two years ago and love it and so do my plants! I thought your Troyers and Whispering Pines looked familiar. How cool!
I live in the south and we do not have access to any stores like this that I'm aware of (except possibly online). How wonderful it would be to have them here. Happy New Year to you both! 💙
Thank you for sharing. I am in a central spot to two very different Amish areas. One store is literally called Bent n Dent. Most (not all things) are expired or a little banged up. The other an hour south of us is massive. Three plus isles of just spices.
Cranberry beans are great and easy to grow and store, I would describe them as a meaty bean. I do believe to keep the colour you have to steam them. My hubby makes a spicy bean casserole which we bottle/can and is consumed on winter days. He plans to do a 5 bean medley as we have plenty of dried beans in stock. The butter bean types are always great in the bean mixes. Thanks for the video. UK.
Time to go to my nearest Amish store! For what? Anything and everything now! I’m going to see if I can find those cranberry beans!! I’m low on my canned pintos, so maybe I’ll find these to be a good substitute! I love trying something new! Thanks Rachel and Todd!
Hi, Rachel. I really enjoy your videos. We aren't too far from them, just letting you know that Dairy Doo/ Morgan's Composting isn't Amish or Mennonite. Last fall my daughter and I did a seed starting test with Morgan Composting Seed Starting mix, Dairy Doo, and Vermont Composting. We were surprised by the results. I'm interested to see if you try it.
What a nice store. My father & husband work for the company that provides a good portion of the bulk food to Whispering Pines. The Wheat Montana prairie gold flour is one of our favorite flours to use. We like to do a 50/50 mix of prairie gold and all purpose unbleached for our bread. If you haven’t tried it please do!(you can purchase it as wheat berries also)
Oh wow!! Costs way more here in Canada but I am fortunate that I am now living in an area where I can access a couple of Amish markets. These markets are not as large as yours but I can get all kinds of fresh vegetables at very reasonable prices. I have also found a small, on the farm store for some of the bulk items such as brown sugar and I believe flour....so excited!!
I started buying Dairy Doo 3 year ago.. I went to a greenhouse in Tustin Michigan and they had Dairy Dew mixed in with topsoil I got to pick up truck load to amend my soil in my small 6 x 8 what I call my sauce Garden which is my tomatoes and my herbs and onions and stuff like that..Mind you this is a little teeny bed in front of my picture window in my house the first year I had 8 ft tall Better Boy tomato plants and 6 and 1/2 ft tall San Marzano and roma plants.. it was crazy the amount of yield I got off those plants and the herbs and stuff and that is with nothing else used on the garden but water..
When we go to the Amish store we get bulk popcorn, oats, spices, cheese, cinnamon chips(for scones), seeds, landjaeger, and a bag of gummy bears for the kids.
I saw Farm Dust seasoning on the shelf. Have you guys tried it? My aunt and uncle have Amish friends not far away in Holmes County, OH, and they got Aunt and Uncle to try it. They love it! It's delicious on all meats, they sprinkle it on cabbage as it cooks, and they sprinkle some buttered corn on the cob. They highly recommend it. I'm going to have them get me some on their next trip down.
I actually met the daughter of the man who makes it. We were in Shipshewana IN, looking for one of the seasoning blends he makes, and having difficulty finding it. She offered to take us to her dad’s house because he surely had some there. Not Amish, but super nice!
I have a Amish store I love to go to. The prices are so much cheaper. Also there is a small store similar that I love to visit that is run by a family that does local auctioning. They used to do food auctions, which included a lot of home grown stuff. They closed down during covid. They did open the store. I recently discovered a small store - mostly produce that i can go to to get produce so much cheaper and it has lots of local stuff during thw season.
How I wish we had access to stores and places like these! Do they ship🥹? Though if we did have access here, prices would be ridiculously expensive as it always is in Hawaii. The downside of living in paradise. It would be fun to know what the prices are when you shop, I’m sure others would be curious in knowing prices also.
Was interesting to run across your video as we live not far from the area and shop at whispering pine. I do think that the last time we were there about s month ago,n the prices have taken a jump. My spices that I buy there have really gone up. My hubby really likes the smoked Gouda cheese.
When you buy that much flour, I’m curious of the storage. Not long ago I had to throw my entire stash of flour away because of little black bugs. Some had been purchased from a Mennonite store so I saw them through the clear plastic bags. I had some in paper bags also and had to throw it all away!!!! So sad!!!! And yes, I did have these 6 or 7 separate bags inside a plastic food bin. Since then, I’ve just been keeping it in the freezer, but that takes up space.
We usually put it in the freezer for at least a week, then into 5 gallon buckets with gamma lids. that process seems to work well for us. amzn.to/48FmvRG
My daughter and her sons are moving to a suburb of Dayton for her job. Haven’t lived there since 85. Can’t wait to get back. So many Amish stores and farmers market . Then I will find someone about meat.
In The Montana area, it’s the Hutterites “Hoots” that sell a lot of chickens and turkeys. People don’t care that Hoots raise their poultry the same as any other factory farm… they think that a Hoot chicken is better. Strange.
Nice haul. It would be so nice to have one of those stores close to home. Is your daughters bakery local? I am always looking for a good baker near us. Stay safe.
Hi guys!! Catching up on your video from PEI Canada. Do you mind telling me what the price of butter is? I’m curious. We have a milk cow and calf share. She’s dropping her cream so I get the opportunity to make butter 🧈 😁. Found you folks when I was looking for a pork breakfast sausage recipe. That’s on my list to do next week! 😃
Rachel, I enjoy your content very much! I am in NW Ohio and am going to check out a mennonite store near us. Do you know if they use "organic" practices? Please update us on your wheat planting! :)

Sounds great!
Wow, you was sooome busy, good for you. I've been under the weather w my back so unable to do any lengthy process in the kitchen, I still will find my way in there for some kitchen function, and then I pay if I work too much so I really have to pace myself.
50 pounds of Non- GMO, Non- Bleached and Non- Bromated flour at my local Amish store, $35. Happy New Year. Thank you. God Bless and stay safe.
It's so crazy to me seeing places I see every day in real life on your channel. How cool! ☺️
I agree. I am just a few miles from Whispering Pines. I probably just missed them this weekend 😅
I agree.
Where is this?
Same!!! I love that store😊
That looks like a very cool store to shop at.
I love watching you two. Yue have a wonderful chemistry. I like when you show us around outside. I miss being in Michigan. Detroit. But I loved driving in the country. My sister in IL has a store similar to this and I love going to it when I visit. Thanks for showing us
Where at in IL? If I'm close, I'd love to go there!

Love your videos. Nice and calming. Amish hauls are fun.
I wish they had stores like that around here. I love to bake, and I've never heard of lemon chips or cinnamon chips! Looked like they have a lot of great stuff!
You can order delicious chips from the King Arthur flour company.
My favorite place too❤️whispering Pines
Super fun for me to see "All Montana" flour. The Prairie Gold and Bronze Chief flours are grown about 3½ hours east of me in Montana
What a beautiful area…down home feeling…nature …wonderful!
We live relatively close to the Dutchman’s Store (Mennonite owned) in Iowa and love shopping their deals. I am so thankful for stores like those. Azure isn't an option in Canada.
You had some good fines.
Here, not all the kitchen Ware's are best price but I enjoy supporting our communities. Enjoy!
If you live near the US border you can pick it up in the US.
I wish I lived close enough to shop a Amish store. Thank You for taking us along
We live in a large Amish community near Shipshewana IN so I have several Amish stores to frequent love them all!
Growing up my grandma would go.twice a year to Napanee IN to stock up on groceries at various Amish stores. She would buy pie crusts and filling and pantry staples. Now I'm thankful to have a Mennonite store in my town and two more not that far away❤

I always like watching your hauls from the Amish stores.
Brings back fond memories of shopping at some places when I lived in Coldwater. I love going into the Amish stores like that! Thanks for sharing!
I live in north central Missouri and there is a huge Amish Mennonite presence and we have a lot of Mennonite and Amish ran stores. I love it I do a majority of my shopping at those places ❤️
Whispering Pines is awesome! I always try to fit in a stop when I am in the area.
We go to Whispering Pines all the time. Great place to get spices.
Cranberry beans are wonderful and those lemon chips I see scones in my future. Good haul.
I get my chicken feed there. Very nice people there n whispering pines . Maybe one day I’ll see you 2 there . GODBLESS you all
The closest, largest Amish grocery store to here is Fountain Acres & one of the things I've really liked is their bulk spice department. They have a bunch of different seasonings for making your own sausage. They're ALL delish!
Visited this store for the first time this summer, and absolutely loved it!
We stop there often. I do most of my shopping in Fremont. Very nice store and friendly people.
I went there a while back on your suggestion and got a few things but boy they have fresh subs there cheap and are they big and awesome
First. The advertisements. Those cats are so cute. But I digress.
Thank you for the tour.
Whispering Pines is my favorite place for spices.
The deli at Whispering Pines has amazing sandwiches!
And just a few miles from my house.
I love the dip mixes at our local place!
Cranberry beans are our favorite. They are so creamy and delicious. I cook them up like a black bean soup but so much tastier.
I say it everything you do one of these haul, how I wish I had one of those stores near me. Health food stores is what it is.
We have an Amish community in our are and I really enjoy the shops they have here.

We were just in Arthur yesterday!❤
Veryy nice, I wish we had those stores here in Central Florida
That farm dust is so good
I always hope I'm going to run into you guys there!
Caught our local "Wheat Montana" brand in your Whispering Pines walk-thru! Great stuff!
This is wonderful. Not many Amish comunities here in Texas. We like the large bags of flour, sugar etc. God bless yawl.
Wow that’s nice Amish store. We have one near us, like 4 miles away and it’s nice but not as big as this one. Thanks for sharing!

I so wish I had a store like this near me.
Cranberry beans 🫘 are so good 😊
Lots of yummy things. Gave me some ideas of things I want to look for even though we have no Amish market here in Oregon.
Time to go to my nearest Amish store! For what? Anything and everything now! I’m going to see if I can find those cranberry beans!! I’m low on my canned pintos, so maybe I’ll find these to be a good substitute! I love trying something new! Thanks Rachel and Todd!

Oh my girl!! Cranberry beans are so good. A meaty bean. I can them with Cumin or taco seasoning. Yummy!!
New year’s blessings
I love shopping at those stores. Go twice a year.
My favorite dry beans are Cranberry beans! So much more flavor than pinto. Hope you like them too!

It must be bean day😅. I shucked painted pony beans today. Never grew them before and eager to try them.
Wow! You got so many great things! Wish we had Amish stores in the Northwest!
Oh wow!! Costs way more here in Canada but I am fortunate that I am now living in an area where I can access a couple of Amish markets. We have a newer store like this here, love what they sell! Especially real black licorice and Limburger cheese! Love it!❤

You will love the cranberry bean. My mom and I cook them all the time. We don’t cook pinto beans any more.❤
We have a pretty big amish/Mennonite communtiy area me in WI and have a few stores and greenhouses. Love the spices and candy aisle..
I have a Amish store I love to go to. The prices are so much cheaper. Also there is a small store similar that I love to visit that is run by a family that does local auctioning. Tustin, McBain and Manton Michigan all have good stores. Amish and Mennonite.
I would love their big rectangle Amish Waterbath canner. I can't justify the 400 price tag.
This is my favorite Amish store.
I’m using cranberry beans right now, in Pasta E Fagioli soup.
Dairy doo is amazing!
Cranberry is our favorite bean. They are so good.
I get the Spicy Farm Dust from a local produce market her in S. Florida. I love to put it on egg salad for breakfast.
This is sooooo not the video for me to be watching right about now: I’m on a special diet for gastro issues and IM STARVING!!!
Was interesting to run across your video as we live not far from the area and shop at whispering pine. I do think that the last time we were there about s month ago,n the prices have taken a jump. My spices that I buy there have really gone up. My hubby really likes the smoked Gouda cheese.
Cranberry beans are like pinto but sweeter. My favorite
I make a mean pot of cranberry beans with a Mexican? Spanish? sofrito- sooo good! Stole it from Milk Street- my favorite beans!
Would you say they taste anything like pinto beans?
Cranberry beans are the best!
I wish we had one near us in Texas
When you buy that much flour, I’m curious of the storage. Not long ago I had to throw my entire stash of flour away because of little black bugs. U will love the seed starter from dairy doo

Really Amazing💕💕💕💕
Interesting, we have a Troyer's Amish store where I live too, all the way in South East Oklahoma.. 🙂
Morgan composting!!

I wish I could shop there!
Rachel, I enjoy your content very much! I am in NW Ohio and am going to check out a mennonite store near us. Do you know if they use "organic" practices? Please update us on your wheat planting! :)
I sure they sometimes garden organically and natural, but a lot of what they have in bulk stores like this they source from wherever they can regardless.
What cool stores! I love what you are wearing! Any chance you could tell me where you got your earrings?
We just did a big shop at a Mennonite store in central WI, ran into Bigfamilyhomestead. Now for no shop Jan/Feb.
