My favorite thing about Goodwill is when they ask if I’d like to round up to support their mission. Sometimes I wanna say, “I am your mission. Hence why I’m shopping at Goodwill.” 🤦🏻♀️

Where I live we have Habitat for Humanity Stores and their kitchen items are way less expensive than Goodwill or Salvation Army.
Love this video! I love thrift shopping. That's what we do in the Netherlands too. I usually go biking. And when my kids were young, I had one kid on the front and one on the backseat, 2 bags full of thrift treasures all on one bike😅

It is so important to have alone time as parents! My husband and I have a "fill our bucket day" where we take turns and get atleast 2-3 hours to ourselves to do whatever we need to do to feel human again ❤❤❤ We try to do it atleast once a week. it has helped our mental health so much!! Most of the time I just choose to stay home and just relax in the peace and quiet and watch my favorite old movies 😂
Good Day! You are correct about the prices at Goodwill. I live in a small town in the northern area of Arizona. I enjoy thrift store shops; however, I have begun to shop at smaller thrift stores that usually have better items. There are quite a few and adorable I might add. Good luck on your endeavors. By the way your boys are adorable. 😊

Kim, yes the Primary Parent does exist in marriages and outside of marriage too. Quite a bit in fact. Yes this has happened to me in my marriage for years and years on end. I WAS married for 25 years. I am the mom figure who worked midnight shift in a hospital, took care of the kids and all the things they needed for school, sports, activities, and Dr visits and Vet visits too. Even paid the bills out of our finances together. I guess you can add to the list the laundry, cooking, and cleaning the house and taking cars for maintenance too. He didnt do any of those things. Our kids are older now: one almost ready to graduate college and the other almost a senior in high school. The kids see who is there for them and what sacrifices that primary parent makes including lack of sleep to complete caring for their needs, and maybe even foregoing some self care and private time so the kids are taken care of and have what they need. Children of these Primary Parents take in what they observe and also comment on it when they get older. I also want to say its not gender specific the primary parent role. There are plenty of fathers out there that provide the same care for their children as solo and do every well at it. This happens to these fathers because the children's mothers have made themselves unavailable to the idea and role of parenting. Men that are in these roles shine quite well. My kids do appreciate all the things that have been done for them over the years and as their mama that makes my heart ❤ feel complete. I am very proud of each of them for the strong and caring individuals they have become. The world is ahead of them.

Love your message about the primary parent or default parent. Let’s just be real being in this intense season of life is just plain hard. Also, you leaving your bag in the child seat of the cart while you shop is the most Hoosier thing ever….we are way too trusting! 😅

Great video! I seen the recipe book holder and i was thinking id love to find 1 of those at a thrift store! And I actually really like Goodwill and Mission thrift stores they are wayy cheaper then value village! But im also from Ontario I feel like the thrift stores here are much cheaper😊 I was actually in Michigan last week and went to a mission thrift, I agree there was Alot of junk that im sure no one wants to buy! And the prices were really high! 😊

Love your video and I’ve been watching a lot of Mennonite videos on RUclips recently just to get a handle on beliefs. Am I correct in saying there are different thoughts in different churches. For example, some seem to not be happy with using technology but then you and your husband seem to be very much up with the times in all ways while at the same time, honouring the Lord.
It depends on the community you are in . Typically, Mennonite are not as strict as the Amish. I hope that helps ! ❤

I am boycotting Good Will and I have for quite some time. My reasons are their prices and what they say they do with the money they receive. As in what they pay the special needs folks. How fun! In Goshen I would recommend Biebs and Ash for amazing smashburgers or the Table at 108 if you are looking for more of a bistro. In Nappanee, there is a lot of good choices like Hunters Hideaway, Deysi's Tacos (in Coppes Commons) or Main Street Roasters which has a really good lunch menu and of course great coffee! I hope this helps!
