I love all these characters in this movie!. times where kids actually went outside and had adventures. Now a days everyone's face is stuck in a phone. :(
This film is absolute magic! It takes me right back to the glorious sunny day when i first watched it at video club in junior school in 1987 or there abouts! I now have it on DVD and stick it on every time i need a dose of nostalgia! xXx
I was only 15 or 16 when this film came out and un-fortunately I did not see it in the theatre.I like more than any film like it today and its true for every generation of people.Great cast, effects, and awesome locations.
How can you not like this movie? I started watching it when i was like 4 and its been my favortie movie since, and will continue to be forever. its awesome, i have a shirt and lunchbox! yay! also they just played it in a theatre in our town, they were having a corry feldman week, i went out and saw it at likd 10 on a school night. i pretty sure i can recite like the whole things. You can't go wrong with a good movie like this, why don't they come out with classic like this any more? Go Goonies!!
I am a child of the 80's and did see this movie at the movies when it came out.It was great than and I still dig it out and watch it from time to time when I feeling OLD LOL.
Oh man this takes me back to being about 6 or 7. Christ, how time goes by so fast I am now 30 but I still have fond memories of this aswell as terminator and alien and Ghostbusters. Nostalgia is so good.
This movie shaped my life. No matter how old you are this movie is still amazing. I'm only 17 and this movie makes me wish I was a teen in the 80s. The 80s had the best movies and it makes me so jealous :)
Out of all the masterpieces I've seen, The Godfathers, The Shawshank Redemptions, The Great Dictators of the world... The Goonies will always be my favourite film.
When I have an extraordinarily bad day, i'll make some tea, grab a blanket, put this movie in and lay on the couch and just forget the bad ever happened. One of the best movies ever made. Even if it did have some cheese in it, the cheese made it better I think.
It has been 25 years today that this movie came out. It seems like yesterday. I remember when i went to go see this movie with my dad in the theater in Longview Texas when it came out.
Haha, I LOVE this movie. It took me some time to get used to though, but up til now, I'm in love with this movie. When I watch it, makes me feel like I'm in the "old days".
Nearly 40 myself & have various signature moments on my ipod like baby ruth & hey you guys and always gets a laugh when it comes on. Best growing up movie ever
Do the truffle shuffle!!! brings back memories. every time i would stay the night at my friends house we would watch this. must have watched it a hundred times. he died in a car accident 2 years ago. ='(
I think the best line that captures the imagination of childhood is the simple line "Hey you Guys!" Super movie and super script writing. Very dare I say " Spielbergian".
this movie is just so great, I mean I'm 17 and I love these kind of movies, what a shame that there are no more like these ones ;( I hate living in 2011 -_-"
I do miss the 1980's. My whole family was alive. The Goonies & Back to the Future came out at the movies. He-Man were popular. Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings Books was the in thing. E.T. soared at the movies. Growing Pains, Perfect Strangers and Who's the Boss came around as sitcoms. Regular Nintendo was pretty cool. Micheal Jackson looked better than he was in the 90's. Hanging out at the arcade, ice cream parlor and roller rink as well as ice skating rink was cool.
I just visited the jail, the lavell museum, and the house. Your town is probably my favourite town in the universe, and everyone is so damn gracious and accommodating to hardcore little fanboys like me. Thanks for being Astorian, you.
i watched this on a rainy day 3 years ago for first time... and outa the 200 vhs kids movies we had this was not one of them so it was an amazing film the first time
Ahh.... I love this movie... I don't care if I was born in 1999... This movie is better than any movie of today. And to everyone who says kids don't do this anymore, I do the best I can. I'm in the woods every day trying to find something interesting. I have the guts and determination to have an adventure and I'm always looking for one to go on. GOONIES FTW!!!!
oh wow.... Trailers have come along way since the mid 80's.... if i saw this trailer... there is no way id be interested.... but the fact is, this movie was extremely good, a classic, that has a special place in many hearts
Man, this took me back... "I LOVE THIS MOVIE" Takes a city (NYC) kid out of the city (if not just in the mind) and STRAIGHT into a kiddy version of INDIANA JONES, if not BETTER !!! BRAVO
It's nostalgia. Watching a film like this as an adult is never going to have the same effect as it would of done had you of watched it as a kid. I thought a similar thing of that film 'Stand By Me'. I didn't bother watching it until a few years ago and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I suspect I'd see the film in a different light had I of watched it as a kid.
I loved this movie growing up even though it came out ten years after I was born. It was my favorite movie because it's all about kids outsmarting adults and going on an adventure and along the way they discover something about themselves and their friends/family. I miss movies like that, ones that were fun and funny but also wholesome with a message. It seems like all the movies these days are so stupid and shallow. No doubt in mind, the 80's and 90's were the best time for children's movies
Even though Siskel and Ebert gave this movie two thumbs up, Roger Ebert's only minor complaint was that it takes a little while for the movie's actual storyline to get underway. So he recommended audiences to walk into the movie theater 30 minutes late because of that.
Was I the only one who dug holes in my backyard and neighbors backyards looking for a tunnel to treasure? God I miss growing up back in the day. I watched this then the 85 Bears win the Superbowl
I've just learned something new about this movie... .. One of the melodies (cfr 0:20, 0:24, 0:39, 0:43, 0:49-...) is VERY similar to the tune of The Never Ending Story, Produced around the same time. Nice to learn something new about this movie by/for young and old!
There were plans for a sequel. The story to take place some 15 years later. Mikey now runs antique shop and is engaged to a girl named Tami, Mouth and Stef are together and Mouth is running for public office, Data is in charge of a toy company that makes toys of his own design, Chunk is in college, a lot thinner and more serious, Brand works in the lumber yard and Andy teaches school. Brand and Andy miss each other. Jake and Francis are in state prison and their mother has passed away in prison.
I love all these characters in this movie!. times where kids actually went outside and had adventures. Now a days everyone's face is stuck in a phone. :(
This is my favorite movie of all time. No matter how many times I watch this movie I never get tired of seeing it. Goonies never die.
I remember watching this over and over with my brothers as a kid. Still have the original VHS. Goonies is one of the best adventure films of the 80's.
These kind of films back in the 80´s were the best.
It´s so sad they don´t make movies like this anymore. I am so glad I was a child of the 80´s.
I wish I could watch The Goonies for the first time again. I miss my childhood so much.
This is how trailers are supposed to be done. It doesn't give away any of the movie!
Agreed!
One of my most Favorite all time childhood movies!! Goonies never say die!
I'm 29yrs old and still love this Childhood classic... Hey uuuuuuu guys lol

This movie is so special. I loved this even more when i was a kid. One of the greatest childhood movies ever made.

The 80's gave us some of the best films ever!
Although it came out a few years before I was born, I saw it when I was really young and I'll always remember it :)

I saw that movie in the middle 90's, I was a kid like them. Everybody was saying "good enough" at any moment, and we all know why.
I loved this movie growing up even though it came out ten years after I was born.
