Another thing I suggest you can do, is sometimes you can send your email to the faculty heads or the general application email address to let them know you have reached out to supervisors and nobody has answered you, you can attach your proposal too and tell them you are still interested in applying before the deadline closes, sometime they can help you match a supervisor or provide information on how to ho about it.
I am from Pakistan I have done my Master degree from China,As my degree is from China, I won't need IELTs and TOEFL.
I can apply with out have a supervisor.

Australian don't respond to research requests at all.
And if by any chance they do, they will say they currently do not have the capacity to take on an extra student

I understand how frustrating it can be thats why I advice to send a mail to as many as possible and send a remainder too
