Hi, Pat, from Dallas, where we are recovering slowly from a rather desperate week. First a year of covid and then "hell froze over". Power outages, boiling water, broken pipes. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, my sewing machine broke..So much for February UFO's! The thing that has saved me is remembering the grace and aplomb you've exhibited despite your broken wrists during the last year. Your sweet giggle, your pronunciation of "WARSH" and your positive attitude have inspired and sustained me. A million thanks!
I feel for all you people in Texas. We are watching it on the news here in W Australia where we're having a heatwave. Hope you survive it all and get back on track soon. These things are sent to try us but we do our best to stay positive. Sending you cheers from Australia. 🇦🇺❤️🙏🌏🌞🌞
@Mary Schutte Hi Mary, I'm in Abilene, see my comments. Hope all is getting fixed for you & you have all you need as far as utilities/water. I agree about Pat getting us thru this with all she went thru. AND agree about the sweet giggle & "warsh" & also the way she'll just smile at the camera-I guess we could learn-but I would not remember to keep doing that :) When she changes her accent, too-I get tickled about that :)
I have always done the donut cutting of an applique, because I don't care for the 'feel' of fusible behind the object. Thank you for sharing this with your followers.
I agree with @LeAnn Segner, the Ellie's look sooo good over your bed! The orange/gold/rust matches the paint color so well. And that Grandma's Kitchen-so cuddly looking :) Coming out the other end of our snow/freeze here in Abilene with only 1 outside busted pipe. No electricity outage at my house but the did cut off the water for about a day & then Friday found the busted pipe so was without again until the plumber came Sunday. Although I was hoping for no issues, was so thankful that was all that happened. There are so many more in such worse shape-it's hard to fathom.
I am obsessed with the quilt in the background- I see it on several of the videos in the last few months. I must ask : "what is the name of your 'friend'"? (the name of the quilt)
Thank you for showing how you cut your applique shamrocks. I did not trim inside and again I have learned from you. Next time I applique will do correctly.
Love your elephants it looks great over your bed. I have your applique book and it's one of the best resources I have when I'm doing applique... Your tips are awesome!!
I like to take the floss for the project and wrap it around my cardboard holder. I'll write the floss number on the card. When I am done with the project, I'll add the card to my plastic box of floss in numerical order for later. This is one of the most organized parts of my craft world.
Hi Pat- Love the little Leprechaun on the Calendar, thankyou for the Shamrock. I, like you often want more than a fat quarter bundle, so these days I purchase the Half Yard Bundles from Fat Quarter Shop - good value for me. Heaven forbid I make a mistake when cutting out (it happens even with the mantra "measure twice cut once"). I find it handy if I decide to enlarge a quilt pattern, then I'll know I have enough of the fabrics I want to use. God Bless and keep safe and warm.
Love your elephants! Looks great over the bed. I love your wall color too! Most ppl like neutrals, grays, etc... not me! I love color! We painted every room here, my dining rm is a mustard color and living rm is blues!
Pat, thank you as always for your daily videos. I have many fat quarters in sets and individuals, but lately I’ve switched to getting half yard or full yard bundles. Solids or my form of background-aka-grunges in three or more yards. I’m excited to start the March daily see along!
I wish you had a kit for your "Home Is". I want to make it for my sisters 50th wedding anniversary and she loves blue. I would love to use the same fabrics you are using.
I am so excited! I ordered your Seasons Quilt kit from the FQS about a week and a half ago. It will probably take a long time to arrive to my home, Manitoba, Canada. I will have to check back on your videos about this great quilt. 😊
I just started watching your channel in Feb. I think your March Hope daily block a day will be fun. But I will have to order fabric and your instruction sheet does not say how much fabric you will need in total. It looks like the first block could be done with a jelly roll and a small charm pack ( center black)? But it looks like you were showing fat quarters for your fabric selection. So I guess I'm asking how much fabric will we need and can it be done with a combination of jelly roll a charm pack or do we need a fat quarter?. If so then how much will we need of each. I need to order fabric since I do not have a fabric stash do use up.
Pat, have you ever had a warped cutting mat? I have three of these. I'm told that my house is too dry. In the summer I laid them out on my deck and doused them with water. It worked........until I brought them back in the house. Then they re-warped. I even got ahold of Olfa and they said once a mat is warped, it's done. Can't do anything about it. Now, these mats are costly and I don't take kindly to such a negative answer. Do YOU have any ideas????
Did you download my free block a day pattern? go to blog.patsloan.com/2021/02/applique-tutorial-ufo-challenge-status-join-me-tonight-at-8pm-est.html
Your elephants are so cute above your bed!! Just the right size.

This is my first time making a live feed! Hello from surprising sunny Kent, Washington at least until the sun sets. It’s been raining most of the day
Hi Kathleen! I'm in Port Angeles...we had rain this morning, then fog, then the wind came and blew it all away. I actually saw the moon tonight!
@@claudiawarren6053 you can always count on the weather in the PNW to be always changing.

I have separate scissors in my craft room than my sewing station. Old habits die hard lol

Hi Pat, is the fabric from your flower quilt still available, do you know? I love it.
