    What fluid did you use for the clutch? I know you use brake fluid but which on specifically? I'm going to be doing this over the weekend

    Does the MK8 have the spring on the clutch pedal? I removed it on my MK7.5 before trying the valve delete, and it made enough of a difference that I decided to not even mess with the valve. Even quicker fix.

      You know what I’ll definitely have to check ! I know what spring you’re talking about but I didn’t even think about that !

    Also had my buddy who tracks here and there. A much better driver then me and felt a lot more clutch’s and hated the delay. Said it’s great for daily driving but anything “spirited” it’s rough with the delay in highly debating on trying this

      I would agree if it was just a daily the stock clutch would be ok but like you said with any sort of spirited driving the delay valve just falls short!

    I got a 40th manual to replace my 2010 golf mk6 2.5. I could feel more feedback in the old golf when it started to grab despite the gti having a heavier clutch.

    I know im new to manual but thank god im not the only one ive basically just learned its pretty close to all the way down on clutch and just maybe 6/8 of the way down is the clutch engage point . But yea no way of really feeling it out and good info!

    This is bad news for me. I wanted to do this after replacing the shift knob for a weighted one and installing the holy shift short shifter but you mention is stiffer so it would be bad for my left knee 😞

    • @octane_media
      @octane_media  Год назад +1

      It’s not extremely stiffer it’s just noticeable if you have week or older knees it might be a little rough

    Might have to try this on my mk8 and yeah I don’t fuck with the hill assist I have stalled because of it I haven’t tried to turn it off but if u got into vehicle on the info screen and go to setting that’s where it would be

    • @octane_media
      @octane_media  Год назад +1

      That’s what I figured as far as the hill assist location but the only thing I can find is the automatic ebrake on/off which I may give that a try and see how that goes . I have stalled it atleast a handful of times now it’s awful.

    Clutch delay valve makes chirping sound when clutch is pressed to shift gears at low rpm?

    • @octane_media
      @octane_media  2 месяца назад

      Is this something that you’re having an issue with ?

      @@octane_media no issue but sound is annoying and jerk during gearshifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd

    Yeah I switched from my manual 335i to the mk8 gti and the clutch in the gti is dog water so im about to get out of my room and do this🤣 btw same thing with the hill assist, my 335i was really smooth, but apparently VW cant get it right😤

      The clutch on the GTI has always been goofy and soft even on my mk6 GTI that I had . I really do wish there was just a disable or off button for the hill assist but over all I love the car !
