Follow up and tips for others- I was successful in replacing the 12volt. I bought an OEM from Tesla and so didn't do the terminal modifications. One thing I would suggest to anyone trying this:
    1. Old plastic is not very flexible. I snapped a tab removing the filter housing.
    2. Removing the nuts for me by hand gave me more control.

Scott, I just replaced my battery that was 7.5 years old, though I don’t know if that’s normal. I bought my battery from the Tesla service center near me for $165. Though it didn’t come with the adapter, you can easily remove the one on the old battery and reuse it on the new battery. The new battery is a DCS-33UNCR.

Hi, Thanks for the video. On Gruber's battery swap video, they connect the 12V positive first, as you do it as well, but then they connect the High voltage cable and then, after the High volt cable has been connected, they connect the negative of the 12V battery.
You connect 12V positive, then negative and then the High Voltage connector.
    What is the right sequence?

@@ElectrifiedGarage --- I still can't find anything about an adapter for the NEG side. ~11:20 video guy says "Negative terminal can stay." Sales website states: "2012-3/2016 RWD Cars require adapter post which we include. (See video for installation with post adapter)". "Adapter post" means one, right?
The POS adapter post is well explained in the video, as is almost everything else (Its a really good instructional video), but... DID THEY MAKE A CHANGE TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CLAMP? Or does the original Tesla clamp fit around the NEG post of the aftermarket battery? 4:38-4:40 of video has brief view of original clamp, which looks a lot smaller than the clamp shown at 17:42. This leads me to think that the ground cable/clamp is also modified.
