What a good practice for both of them. I wish Serena gets the tournament. She deserves a couple of Grand Slams to win. Right from the beginning, a massive effort was put into testing and tracking. Australia has a well developed infectious disease framework, which was put on steroids when Covid hit. If you thought you had it, you got tested right away, and asked to quarantine until results were produced. If positive, contact tracers called, wanting to know where you have been and with whom. People were intensively tracked and traced. If you had to isolate at home, you better do it. There were a lot of control checks. If you had to quarantine, the government helped you out, e.g. the army did your shopping for you. What’s really important 1) both conservative and progressive politicians worked together and took the lead from the scientists 2) if you lost your job / your business was impacted you got a lot of financial help from the government, so you were not tempted to break the quarantine rules, when in place. Think, more importantly, Australia has a lot of social control. You, as a citizen, are expected to follow rules, out of respect to your fellow Australians. If you do not, the people around you, will knock you into place. My Mum is 86. So happy she, like all the oldies in Australia, and those with underlying health conditions, have been kept safe.
What I want Serena to do at the open is take the ball early like she use to do & get to the net! When Serena is standing in the base line and ready to fire you better have a great serve

Y’all realize that this was an exhibition right? They only had ONE hour to play so they probably gave each other the two games and probably played “real” tennis in the tiebreak. All this to say is that we should just enjoy them playing tennis in front of a crowd and that this is not a ton of indication of their match readiness. They both have separate tournaments soon before the Australian Open and that’s when we will see what work they have put in.
Serena's weight, like most women weights Tends to fluctuate . However if you remember years ago they counted her out because when she came back she was bigger . The only issue that I would say that her weight poses Is that it probably makes her more injury-prone, perhaps . But she's been able to do so many amazing things carrying that extra weight so it's definitely not about that. It's amazing how some people who are smaller haven't even accomplish what she has but they don't get talked about like she Does negatively . It's really sad. What a good practice for both of them. I wish Serena gets the tournament. She deserves a couple of Grand Slams to win. I wouldnt compare it to Margarets Court achievement cause that era was different and way less demanding both physically and technically that it was for Serena. She must secure a new record that could only be broken after tenis itself would be advanced in such way that only a very good athlete can also break Serena s record and so on. It would be such a pity not to leave such a print. I think though that she manage to get at least 2 or 3 more over the next couple of years!

Right from the beginning, a massive effort was put into testing and tracking. Australia has a well developed infectious disease framework, which was put on steroids when Covid hit. If you thought you had it, you got tested right away, and asked to quarantine until results were produced. If positive, contact tracers called, wanting to know where you have been and with whom. People were intensively tracked and traced. If you had to isolate at home, you better do it. There were a lot of control checks. What’s really important 1) both conservative and progressive politicians worked together and took the lead from the scientists 2) if you lost your job / your business was impacted you got a lot of financial help from the government, so you were not tempted to break the quarantine rules, when in place. Think, more importantly, Australia has a lot of social control. You, as a citizen, are expected to follow rules, out of respect to your fellow Australians. If you do not, the people around you, will knock you into place. My Mum is 86. So happy she, like all the oldies in Australia, and those with underlying health conditions, have been kept safe.

Y’all realize that this was an exhibition right? They only had ONE hour to play so they probably gave each other the two games and probably played “real” tennis in the tiebreak. All this to say is that we should just enjoy them playing tennis in front of a crowd and that this is not a ton of indication of their match readiness. They both have separate tournaments soon before the Australian Open and that’s when we will see what work they have put in.
I hope it was practice , it was awful to watch.

Serena's weight, like most women weights Tends to fluctuate . However if you remember years ago they counted her out because when she came back she was bigger . The only issue that I would say that her weight poses Is that it probably makes her more injury-prone, perhaps . But she's been able to do so many amazing things carrying that extra weight so it's definitely not about that. It's amazing how some people who are smaller haven't even accomplish what she has but they don't get talked about like she Does negatively . It's really sad. This WOMAN had dominated tennis on and off the field and still gets disrespected. You see how males and females hate on her. To which, could never manage to dominate anything besides a querty or smartphone keyboard.

Osaka gets her fair share because of her stance on BLM, I have so much respect for her. On the subject of her weight, when u get to her age in tennis weight becomes an issue especially now that she have a child. Personally I don't think her weight is the issue, it's just the pressure of the gran slam record. She's had enough opportunities to sneak one out. And it's only gonna get more difficult with younger hungrier players coming with no fear.

When she is going out there she is facing and has faced racism, bias, and unfair all around treatment especially with ridiculous rumors of being transgender etc..when you can clearly see she and Venus are female from old videos. She didn't start yesterday. She has indeed endured hardness as a good soldier and overcome so much. THIS is why other players such as Osaka, Stephens, and Keys can be all dainty and pleasant. She has her own personality and through the grit and grime she still always shines. There is a level of hardness that comes with that territory and as a Black woman... I understand it.

I respect Serena but your arguments make no sense. Serena played Graf several times and their records are even. So how could a young Serena with full energy had to struggle that much against an old player who has past her prime like Graf. it is the same in the case of Osaka and Serena. Serena is not in her prime but Osaka has not reached her peak either. She is still improving her game and learn more shots. At the end of the day, since you competing on the tour, losing is losing and there is no excuses.
