Hi everyone, greetings from the cozy town of Luang Prabang✨
I finally could upload my first travel vlog!
As I mentioned in the video, ever since reading Haruki Murakami's travelogue "What is there in Laos?/ラオスにいったい何があるというんですか? 紀行文集 "amzn.asia/d/a29FCIQ
I had been itching to visit Laos, or rather, seeing the Mekong River. While there are plenty of countries I want to visit, nothing else had that clear "this is what I want to see in this country" feeling like this.
I'll share my impressions of actually visiting the Mekong River in a future vlog, but let me just say it lived up to my expectations - it was wonderfully turbid and murky. As for the question posed in the title, "What is there in Laos (that Japan or Vietnam doesn't have)?"
I'd like to answer with "peace of mind." Even when I (due to some complicated circumstances) accidentally broke the window of a bike rental shop, all the staff strangely found it hilarious. They were laughing even harder when they saw my almost-teary face, which oddly enough, made me feel a lot better.
Ah, I can't help but overflow with emotions about Laos, so I'll leave it at that for now. I'll delve into more detail in the vlog! It's exciting when dreams come true, but it's also a bit lonely. It's hard to accept that I have to leave this country in just a few days. Parting ways is inevitable in travel, so I'll embrace it.
Thanks for watching! ✨ And thanks as always for your comments! I read them all. Stay healthy and have a fantastic day!

hi✨I’m Saiko(not p*yco)
how old are you? ----24(born in 2000)
where do you live?---Osaka,Japan
what do you like?----traveling, hiking, donuts🍩
what is your job?----I'm feeling lost about my life, so I'm working part-time and looking at what's going on
Youth is the time when you are supposed to make mistakes, take risks and experience life. You are doing exactly what you should be doing. Ganbatte!
Thank you for encouraging me;)))))
Hey, thanks for watching! If you have any advice, please let me know ✨ (I'm not used to making travel videos yet)
Thanx for sharing, you're doing a great job. Just keep it up like that. It's your style and it's good. Stay safe and enjoy your trip.
Hi Saiko. I'm from Belgium Europe and also planning to travel to Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan in the near future. I have been following many vloggers but it's nice to see someone like you without much experience sharing your adventure. I like that you add prices for Taxi and hostel and so, but it would also be interesting if you shared thow and when you did the booking for the hostel for instance. It's always nice for newbies like me learning about those practical details on how much things cost or maybe sharing mistakes that costed you more time or money than necesarry. Good luck and have fun! Subscribed
Buy something like this www.runcharlie.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/CWC073-NL-Sun-Hat-combo.jpg and don't forget sun screen :)
Last tips for today :) Drink lots of water and use google maps for direction or things to look for.
@@donjoe2661wow thanks:)I’ll try that
Remember to apply sunscreen evenly throughout the day and stay hydrated to prevent heat strokes. It’s great seeing you enjoy your travel
Saiko being inspired to travel by Haruki Murakami is so awesome! ☺👍
If you read the book, you would want to come to Laos:)
Good for you for not only taking the leap to travel, but also making the effort of documenting it and editing at the same time. That is not easy. You should be proud! Thanks for sharing too!
Thank you:)))
I hope I wanna upload more videos;;
It's amazing how you always seem to strike such a balance between busy moments and small moments, I love your editing. Congrats on visiting one of your dream travel destinations. You never really appreciate how big the world actually is until you travel. Then you realize it's really massive lol. Looking forward to seeing where you adventure next.
Also, you were out there getting cooked. Poor Saiko 🤣
Wooo thanks:))))
Right We need to realize how small the world we usually live in is.
I love the randomness of this. Enjoy Saiko ❤
Thanks🩵
All right! Saiko is back with her travel vlog! Very well done! Great to see you out there just going with the flow. Also glad you decided to try talking to people. It's those interactions and connections that make life happen. Maybe introduce us to some of the people you meet? Anyway, keep on keepin' on! 👍👍
Thank you:))))))
I was happy to see the cat accept your scritches :3
Great video - I look forward to your next upload! Be safe! ^ ^
I was lucky to work at KIX for 6 years, it’s a wonderful airport. My mother taught me that travel is the best form of education and it enlightens your mind. Enjoy your travels, your cinematography has improved dramatically, you really have a talent for this. Go for it girl !
Oh you had worked at kix?great
As you said, traveling makes me a lot
@@SaikoTakahashi I assume you go to Vang Vien, the new train is super, but book in advance.
I love how you’re not only stepping out of your comfort zone to explore but also chatting with others and making friends along the way~ Thank you for sharing this vlog again and btw, I’m loving the choice of music in this video! 😊😊
Hello Saiko! Travelling is the Best Thing You Can Do for Yourself. Enjoy!
Thank you:))))))right
lol It's fun to watch you walk around with this child-like sense of wonder. It makes me wonder if that is how I will feel when I visit Japan.
Thank you:)you should!
Thanks Saiko-san for uploading the latest travel vlog, that's good you're enjoying the holiday going solo. I enjoyed the vlog, stay safe & safe travels....👌😷☺❤
Thank you 🩵🩵
I’m so proud of you for doing this you’re so brave I wish I had done this when I was twenty years younger (I’m almost 50 now). I’m so excited to see what you accomplish xx
Thank you:)you are still young!
i love haruki murakami and had no idea about that essay, i have to check it out
Thank you:))
There probably isn't an English version, but be sure to check it out!
Congrats on arriving safely overseas. Have fun!
Thank you:))) have fun too!
Love it. Thank you for taking us along Saiko
Thank you too:)))
My trip to Japan last year was like this for me - the only place I've ever wanted to go. I'm 40 now, so it took a long time to get there but it was so worth it!
I studied Japanese for a year or so before I went, and like you, I forced myself to talk to people and experience as much as I could while I was there.
It was physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting, and it was the best 3 weeks of my life!
I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I enjoyed mine!
Well put video , hope to see more from you.
Thank you:)))I wanna tooo
As a music lover I want to thank you for tuning me onto The Pushers. 🤘
Excellent editing, video is very enjoyable
Wow I am happy to hear that
Thank you:)))
I love Laos. The 'abandoned theme park' only opens at night, it is one of the most crowded places at night.
Oh really lol
Thanks💙
I hope you take us with you to explore Laos national heritage sights as well as their food. Have a great trip!!
very relaxing, thank you.
Thank you too:))))
This is such a sweet vlog! Your authenticity really shines through, Saiko 🥰 I love and resonate with your idea that "travel should be purposeless and unintentional." You've made my day, thank you!
Wow Thank you for your warm words :)💙
It is really inspiring to see you getting out of your comfort zone and exploring the world. Laos looks so charming and relaxing too!
Take care out there Saiko 😊
Sabaidee.. Welcome to Laos, to a bumpy roads and beautiful nature

Wow thank you for warm words and encouraging me:)))💙
It's my first time seeing your vlogs. I love it!
Take care and enjoy xxx
Enjoy your travels!
Be mindful of your belongings as it isn't as safe as it is in Japan.
Thank you:)
I should be more careful!
Take care xx
Awesome vlog.. You deserve more views
So you are just starting off with the travel vlog, Trust me you will get much better at it and your level of confidence will surge. Also it makes little difference if the commentary is in English or Japanese (which I don't speak or understand) as long as the English subtitles are there. Thank you very much and enjoy your evening
Your video is not boring at all. I am enjoying your youthful enthusiasm.
It is getting later for me now here in Thailand. And almost tim for me to sleep.
I have subscribed.
It is very hot here in Thailand too.
Please be aware of heatstroke/sunstroke.
It can strike you very quick.
Wear a hat and use a umbrella.
Please take care and be careful.
Will catch up with you later.
Thank you for your kind advice:))yes it is very hot and I should be more careful, thanks 💙
Where Mekong river you were at is the night market. You should try it at night. A lot of stalls selling things like clothing to food
You should explore Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng..take the train 🚆🚆🚆 safe and faster
Yess I have been in Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang for 2 week and love there 💙thank you:))
That humidity in Laos must've been brutal! I hope you were able to drink enough water😳
You are welcom in Laos🎉🎉🎉
ຂອບໃຈ 💙
😀👍 Thanks for sharing. お疲れ様でした www
👍
Looks like you are having a good time and even made a cat friend.... maybe a potential dog friend as well.
Obviously, please say safe
Thank you:))
Fly little bird, FLY HIGH AND FAR. Stay hydrated, know the climate, and move accordingly. Be careful with the people they tend to be the most unpredictable and problematic aspects in most situations. I watch the eyes they rarely ever lie, again move accordingly and finally be careful with the wildlife don't want to suffer a unnecessary, nasty animal bite on the road that could be quite problematic and expensive to deal with both in money and time. Please forgive me, just a not so old dad stuck in my dad ways. Have Fun!
Thank you:) I need to be more careful
Sabaidee ❤❤❤

Brave and wonderful what you're doing.
Thank you so much:)
Good luck with your travel blogging
Thank you 💙
@saiko so sorry to hear that the weather is so hot 🥵 at this time if you’re going around October to December the weather is good so I can plan to go there to next time I will show you around keep in touch have a wonderful trip Bon voyage 🛫
Thank you:)
I love here and am getting used to the weather 💙
Thank you for visiting Laos. It is a very poor country. But the people are very sweet and kind. There is a small Japanese community in Laos. I wish more Japanese move to Laos. Laos is a low population.
Thank you too:)
If I consider living and working in Laos, is contacting the Japanese community the best choice?
@@SaikoTakahashi the best choice is to focus on learning lao language from the start. No japanese no english, find some modern lao girls to be friends with and you can learn the most about everything there is to know and make a life. Lao culture will teach you a lot and slow down your mind.
Must travel to Laos for vacation
Yes :) try it!!
Hello/Sabaidee Saiko! Just dropping in to say I'm a new subscriber and I loved your vlog! Despite the intense heat and humidity in Laos during your visit, I hope you managed to find some cool spots (literally)! It sounds like you tackled Laos like a champ.
I'm gearing up for my own worldwide adventures soon, and your videos are giving me that extra push of inspiration to step out of my comfort zone. Thanks for reminding us all to keep exploring and embracing the unknown. Keep those awesome videos coming! 💛
Thank you so much:)
I definitely love Laos and my best favorite spot is on the other side of the bridge in Luang Prabang💙Good Luck to you
If our paths cross in the future, it would be fantastic to collaborate! 😊 By the way, I've uploaded some walking tour videos of Laos and the US, plan to expand to other parts of the world next year. 🌏📹
Very nice. Explore more. You are doing good.
Thank you:)💙
Kinda like you, I felt a little sick in Phuket and pakse, Lao, that heat in pakse was no joke - take care, stay well, it’s too hot to eat, you drink more liquids
Thank you:))yes definitely
I'm late watching this and so my response is late too.
Glad to see you made it.
Please drink plenty of water and try not exert yourself to much since it's so hot.
Thank you💙
Good video!
im happy to see Saiko happy 👧
11:38 it look like Pad krapow Gai kub kai daow, stir fried thai basil with chicken and fried egg
Im thai btw but living in Sweden.
Sorry for being late, I have saw you upload this video on same day but did not manage have time to watch until now.
Thank you for watching:))💙
Sabaidee. Hello. Welcome to Laos
ຂອບໃຈ💙
@@SaikoTakahashi Wow! You can type Lao language
When you landing I did not see many city lights below. Laos is quiet, but interesting. Is the country as you imagined? Thank you for the video.
Right:)
I feel a mysterious charm that doesn't exist in other countries.
Thank you for watching 🩵
Laos need more Japanese people to move there. Teach kids in school.
Lời chào từ Việt Nam 🇻🇳
Cảm ơn💙
Look very silent and quiet 🤫

Be careful about weather cos it too hot, take more water gonna help you. hope you enjoy the trip ;)
Thank you:))
Yesss it’s took hot but I’m getting used to it!
I like to think you have a tricksy teleporting camera, how you enjoy walking with the camera and talking to it, but suddenly it would just vanish from your hand and you have to go find it hiding in an alleyway or a roadside somewhere. The tought makes me laugh
I should be more careful:)thanks
🇱🇦🇯🇵❤
🩵
Yeah my first time in Laos the immigration process was a little nerve wracking because they made it seem like it was an interrogation. With that being said my second time was a lot better I guess it’s just who you’re dealing with.
Exactly that was like interrogation;(thanks
What will you do if someone takes your camera and run away?
I need to be more careful
Thank you:)
@@SaikoTakahashi By the way. Don’t get any crazy ideas, but you look so pretty without worrying about work.
Advice: don't go home. Go to luang prabang+vieng vieng at least. It's probably the best country in the world that no one knows about.
Hey Saiko, im just curious are you on a dating app call Japancupid??? i thought i saw you there with the screen name Chika from Osaka or something like that.
It’s not me:)
@@SaikoTakahashi 😂Oh ok. You look exactly like her.😄 But any ways, did you know that a Japanese person doesn't need Visa to come to the U.S.A? And you're allow to stay up to 3 months as tourist. So if you plan to come here, you can stay at my place here in Florida. Good luck on your journey in life.
Dream country? Are you sure? What did that author say about Laos? Good luck! Hope you don't melt...lol.
Thank you for watching:)
I mean we have a tendency to yearn for things we don't have
Laos has something that Japan doesn't have
