We spent a day in Bruges last summer after our cruise ended in Amsterdam. Took a bus to Bruges from Amsterdam, such a beautiful little city. Loved the swans and flowers everywhere. We had some delicious Belgium waffles, beer and chocolate.
"Travel the World people" agree with you Jerry, 100%!!! Bruges looks beautiful! Another great video. 👍 We just got back yesterday from a 10 day trip in Ireland 🇮🇪 . Rented a car for 7 days. What a beautiful country!!!
We love Belgium so much! What a beautiful spot and we will never ever forget that day. The Belgium people were so wonderful and kind. It was an easy place to lose yourself and forget about the world.
Jill, you don't even know how right you are... it might be more 'practical' to go on an organized tour from the Cruise line or even from an independent tour, but to jump on a bus and do your own thing is SO MUCH MORE of an experience.
I went on one cruise to New England and the Canadian Maritimes for 10 days. I booked one Titanic excursion in Halifax and me and my friends did our own thing in the other ports. I got to see a lot that way.
I love that you are unscripted cruisers⭐️Bruges is beautiful. I’ve been there twice but not by cruise ship! I will definitely consider going again on a cruise. Thanks for the video…keep on cruising ❤
Bruges is so beautiful! I love the ornament you purchased Jill, what a great keepsake and memento of a wonderful day. Looking forward to your Amsterdam vlog, thanks once again for sharing your adventures with us!
I absolutely love that ornament you found! That is my go to travel souvenir. I am loving the chance to follow along on your adventures! Thanks for sharing! 😊
As a Dutchman seeing the upload I have to congrat you to have eaten real Belgium Fries... the only fries in the world.... with mayo as usual... or peanut sauce... or a combi... or curry sauce. Ketchup is not done. Drinking wine when strolling is a little odd as well🤣... but very funny to see. Love to see you enjoying Belgium...cant wait to see Amsterdam...
I often have those overwhelming feelings when I'm in Europe. I dont know what it is. Maybe i was a European in my past life ❤. Makes me more determined to live somewhere there even more. Bruges looks like a place to add to my list.Thank you for sharing this beautiful city.
Bruges was one of our favourite spots on this trip. We loved it so much and have such great memories of our day there. We just booked a cruise to return there next year!
Bless your hearts. Spent a day iN BRUGGE, the beer capital of Europe and you had 1 Stella !!! But you were having fun so that is all that counts. We were there for a day and

Spent a lot of time in Europe in my consulting days. Favorite country was Belgium. People are fantastic, cities are beautiful....and that beer!!! Years later, I still eat my fries with mayo.
Love your Eifel Tower earrings, Jill. What a lovely canal cruise you had. Carnival didn't offer to change you to a quieter room? Did they offer you anything in recompense? Enjoyed this vlog. Makes me want to see Bruges in person.
Stay tuned for the next vlogs this Wednesday and Saturday - we did finally get a change to our cabin situation. Thanks for watching and Bruges is a must-see if you have a chance.
So enjoy your videos, with your descriptions and pictures of the very tasty meals, your staterooms, your adventures on & off the ships. You both show your love of travel so well, that one almost feels like they are on the same adventure. Kudos to you from Ontario, Canada.
Thanks so much!! We always said our goal was to help people see what being on a cruise vacation is like. We are near Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario - where in the province are you?
@@CruisingCanucks I am in Belleville, ON, near Kingston. I recently got back from a cruise to Alaska with HAL. What an amazing experience! Hoping to be back on one of those "dam" ships in Mar/23. Love the cruising vacations. Happy cruising to both!!
We love that area of Ontario. We are happy to hear you had a great time on HAL in Alaska - we are doing that for the first time next summer. We are also doing a ‘dam’ ship in March of 2023. We are on the Nieuw Amsterdam on March 12 heading to the southern Caribbean for 7 days. Hopefully our paths cross on Spring Break!
Fries go with mayonaise. Try the Dutch mayo....i think thats better. Belgium mayo taste a little sour. You loved Brugge. Beautiful weather. Been there twice in winter and spring. Next december we will be there on MSC Virtuosa , Christmas time. Nice to see the appreciation being able to travel. Same here all the time, being able to see parts of the world. Thank you for the video!
I loved my day in Bruges - I took the ship shuttle to the train station, the train to Bruges & a local bus into the central square. I followed Rick Steves instructions
What cruiseline were you with? Out ship shuttle only took us to cruise terminal, not the train station. It looks like the train station 'Zeebrugge-Drop' would be a 20min walk from where our shuttle dropped us off.
@@CruisingCanucks I was on Royal at the time. The shuttle was convenient - going to a church, local shops & the train station where with €€ you could get to Bruges- I did a boat tour - ate chocolates & hung out in the square - the train shuttle back to the ship ran every 90 minutes. Bruges was wonderful ❣️
Awwww - that's interesting. We recently had a family member also cruise there and had the same experience as you (they were on MSC). Carnival's port shuttles did not take us to any of those places - just a small building where we could catch another bus. We like your options on RCL much better.
2 years later ... that is an odd combination, desert (waffle) before main course (fries). Belgians eat their "Brussels" waffles only with a powder sugar coating. The "Liège" waffle is eaten without any coating at all.
@@DINMIR1973 yeah you are right I forgot the peanut sauce, which is also amazing! It's been about 30 years since I had it actually in the Netherlands, Thanks.
Hi I’m doing this cruise soon, I have a question about where you brought the Christmas ornament. What was the name of the store. Also, I’m interested in a snow globe, do you know if it’s allowed be to carried back as a carry on.. thanks have enjoyed watching your videos!
So if I don’t book Cruise Express, are there other tour buses similar in price to take us round trip to and from the port to Brugge? Thanks in advance.
There is another company that does the same bus route at the cruise terminal. Hopefully Cruise Express doesn't hit any other buses and maybe its not so hot you will melt. A combination of challenges made us think we'd choose other options than Cruise Express - if they were available. The other bus company at Zeebrugge is inside the terminal and Cruise Express is outside.

Mmmmmm missing that Belgium chocolate!
Neuhaus is one of the "serious" brands among all that tourist garbage you'll get in Bruges.
So what was this Cruise called? I've loved your ports!
It was the Carnval Pride 12-day Northern Europe. We looked and they are not offering it in 2023. :( So it might have been a one-time type of cruise.
The Dutch have mayo on their fries too it's great. They also mix mayo and gravy or mayo and ketchup or all three, when mixing they call it WAR!
Only mayo and peanutsauce and union makes patatje oorlog (war)....
Ketchup is not done....
The mayo Gravy was a hit with Mr. Canuck!
