    Great video! How things have changed over the years! Remember learning to bend conduit, was told to write this down, then told get to work. Years ago it was a complete sink or swim attitude in the industry, even the apprenticeship was designed around weeding out the weak, started off with 140 student and ended up with less than 20.

    Question, for the 3rd mark added on the conduit being 7 1/4” away from the first mark made; is that measurement the actual width of the obstruction?
    And if it is, is the 3/4” shrinkage factor applied to the width of the obstruction as well? Or is it not added?
    The first mark is distance to obstruction plus 3/4” so it’d make sense to add 3/4” to the width of the obstruction right or no?

    • @evrlastngcherry7727
      @evrlastngcherry7727 Месяц назад

      The other half comes off the other side of the pipe so you only add it to your overall length, but you don't need a mark on the pipe for it

  • @robotzombie3546
    @robotzombie3546 2 года назад +2

    Klein should make tape measures with the back side having essential conduit info, concentric bend formula, ohms law etc but skip the inch measurements on the back. Also tape measures need to be slightly compact not a big block. They need magnets on the ends that won't break off.

    I tried doing this several times with 3/4" conduit, and messed up each time. The last time, the conduit and bender slipped in the air and I got injured badly. Both my left little finger and my left big toe got seriously SMASHED when it cut loose. Enough so they both turned black and I'm losing my fingernail and my toenail now..

    I have a question. You have your first marked 33’7/8” because of there is a 3/4” shrinking this one I understand. However why don’t we add another 3/4” on the other side? So that should make 1’1/2” shrinkage in total.

    • @zacuhdelic
      @zacuhdelic 3 года назад +2

      The other 3/4 of shrinkage wouldnt appear until after the second set of bends. If he only did the first offset there would only be a 3/4 difference from the original length of the pipe. The distance you have to cross over your obstruction won’t grow or shrink so the center point of the bends should be a constant. I’m not sure if that made complete sense. I’ll think about it and try to figure out a better way to word it
