Fruit Etiquette: How To Eat Fruits Formally With Fork and Knife | Jamila Musayeva| In this video, I will show you how to eat fruits formally and elegantly using fork and knife. You will see how to eat grapes, peel and cut orange and banana. These are some of the most frequently served fruits in a fruit platter hence this first episode is dedicated to them.
Sincerely yours,
Jamila Musayeva

Step 1: ask yourself ‘do i really like oranges that much?’
Yes! Good one ☺️
😂😂
😂
😂
In such circumstances my answer would be absolutely not, I’ll stick to the grapes
If i try like this my people will think I m out of my mind 😂😂😂😂but it always feel so good seeing her 🥰🥰
Elegant life is Very beautiful, but you know what I'd rather not eat any fruit with all this suffering hhhh but worth a try.thank you.
I always learn something new whenever I watch your videos. Thank you for always bringing us so much value !
Happy to hear that!
Love her voice and poise! I guess there’s a time and place to eat fruit like a plate of steak bcuz if I did this sound friends and family they would have thought I fell on my head and need to be checked into the hospital 😂
Thank you !
You deserve 1m subscriber.
God bless you Jamila
Thank you ❤️
Lovely! 🥰
Can we have a Part 2 of this, please? I’d like to see other fruits too!
Working on it!
My husband and I are usually the only couple eating bananas in the manner you demonstrated at parties or small dinners with friends. They stare at us as if we are aliens. We know we are being proper and others learn from us. We often have scissors available to use for grapes when at fine restaurants. We are fortunate that in Thailand the size of bananas can be much smaller. The pink ones are quite fat and taste great.
Its good to have etiquette Im just gonna remind you that there's nothing wrong eating fruits with your hands. Sometimes it's not fun being formal everytime. There's time that you will need etiquette but there's time also that its unnecessary to do.
Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you 🤍
Excellent video. Be sure to remove the label on the banana or other fruit before placing it on the tiered server or compote. One can also use fruit knives and forks (antique ones often have silver or mother of pearl handles). I am delighted that you have brought this old school course and way of serving/eating to your viewers.
I wonder how to eat mango properly because it is very juicy. I was surprised about the orange 🍊. Never thought of it like that
☺️
Jamila you deserve 1 Million Subscribers very very soon
And I truly truly needed this video❤❤
Thank you!
I luv her voice...❤
Thank you!
Yesterday I went to a restaurant with my ex-colleagues and found myself eating bread the same way you introduced in your video! I think I started out the wrong way (taking larger pieces) but then I corrected myself without even thinking about it too much.
We were given a pastel de nata at the end (which we didn't order!) and that was very challenging to eat because they removed our plates and cutlery.
please do a video something related to corporate life and its ettiquettes or something like that. Love your videos❤
Noted
lol this reminded me of an episode of Seinfeld “The pledge drive” where it became a trend to eat finger foods with utensils. Such as a chocolate bar 😅
So interesting! Thank you. I knew about the grapes but had no idea about the banana and orange. I’m looking forward to practicing! The orange looks the most challenging, for sure.
It definitely is!
Thank you so much, loving you from Mexico 🇲🇽
You are so welcome!
Thank you Jamila! Very interesting! About the orange, I always tried to eat it without making my nails dirty; now I know! And besides, the orange as you cut it looks like a beautiful flower!
You’re welcome 😊
If in similar circumstance I would cut the orange in half through the middle then cut segments to eat. Grapefruit is often served this way. Best served in a bowl to avoid rolling around. Grapefruit spoons have serrated edges to assist cutting the segments out.
I´ve always been taught to eat most fruits with your hands. As long as hands and fruit are washed, it is ok. Everything else is seen fussy and looked down. I am from southern Europe.
Curious to understand, peeling banana in hand is so much easier and is also elegant, why do we need to use fork and knife, looks much harder, same with orange
It's just etiquette that comes from westerners. The proper way to peel a banana is by using your hands like any other people in the world. A person who doesnt eat in an etiquette way doesnt mean that that person is not being proper.
Very interesting thank you 💖
I always learn something new and interesting here ❤love this !
Love from India 🇮🇳💕
🤍
Thanks for sharing.... People should understand these etiquettes are for formal setting... Yiu are free to eat whstever way you r comfortable at you home 😊

Much appreciated
Thank you, Jamila Musayeva. Thank you for your amazing videos❤
You are welcome
Your voice is so soothing and polite that it is helping me with anxiety issues. Thank you so much ❤
I agree yep you did it perfectly or I can say elegantly I even eat watermelon and muskmelon with fork, first I cut the melon and slice it in patato size pieces and than serve my mom with fork cuz it's easy to eat fork small pieces rather than with hands , eating with fork saves time as well we don't need wash hands again and again. 🎉
Hi jamila i love u can u also do how to eat properly çiğ köfte lahmacun & this kind of turkish meals which we eat with our hands?
Awesome video❤
Thanks 🤗
very helpful. would love to see more fruits
More to come!
This is a very overlooked topic. Thank you so much; could you show with other kinds of fruit as well? Here in Central Europe it’s common to serve apples and pears; I have no idea how to peel one elegantly.
You are welcome 🤍
Lovely video ❤️

Hi, Jamila love your outfit. Please give us part 2 with other fruits.❤
Thank you! Noted ☺️
The grapes reminded me of dates and how I can never seem to discard the seed properly!
does anyone else get Mr. Pip eating a Snickers 🍫from Seinfeld? A little ruthless to serve a whole orange in at a formal dinner. 😅😅 As always love the tips! 🩷
hilarious. sooooo elegant 😭😂
This is so helpful!! I actually have found myself needing to eat those exact same fruits with a fork and knife before... Now i know how ahahaha
Happy to know ☺️
Yayy! A new video from Miss Jamila feels always like a surprise! 😍❤ Totally waiting for guides on buying at luxury brands or luxury brand etiquette too ma'am 🤭😍❤
Thank you!
O dear!! never thought to eat fruit would be so technical...such a surprise for me but will try!!
Have fun
Loved every minute of this video, thank you. Also was wondering if you could make a video on how to eat foods such as burgers, tacos or any finger foods that are typically messy.
Noted ☺️
Thanks a lot. The video was super useful. Please make part 2 of this video, showing how to eat more fruits properly.

Wonderful video. I'd love one on Spaghetti and another on salad.
Great idea!
Thank you very much for this video, now I can feel how much it is important to know the dining etiquette. I also started inculcating these etiquettes (given by you) in my daily life and I can notice the changes in my life, I feel more confident. Thank you again Jamila for such a valuable video.
Glad it was helpful! 🤍
Dear Jamila,
I sincerely appreciate your fantastic videos.
Regarding orange, I actually choose not to eat😅
Cheers,
Great video, Jamila! I truly appreciate the effort you put into creating these videos. I also have a small request for a video - could you demonstrate how to elegantly eat with your hands without using utensils? As a Muslim, we typically do not use forks and knives when eating at home. How can we do this gracefully without making our hands appear messy or covered in food?
Noted ☺️
As a Muslim is it haram to eat with utensils?
loved the video😍
How about peel the banana with the hands and then use fork and knife to eat it ?
orange incarnation!
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ♥️
🙏🏻
Meanwhile me eating mangoes with hands
You are an Indian?
@@srilekha8324 In Hong Kong many elderly British say they eat mangos while in the bathtub in their younger years till today. The English don't need to play games when even the Royals don't give a jack. King Charles took off his shoes while on a visit to India and his sock had huge hole.
@@RosslynR okay, thanks for the information.
In India, we eat mangoes with hands.
When I'm alone at home , I don't really think of etiquettes . 😂
@@srilekha8324 yes. Hand mouth everything gets dirty 😂
@@swatisaini6447 😆 right
That scene in la faute à fidèle where she's trying to teach them how to cut their orange with a knife and fork
Yyyyaaaa I will get stress if I eat like this😶🌫️
But really appreciate your teaching.😊
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for all the videos. I would be very much interested to learn about eating etiquette for left hander…I.e. placement of food-scrape on the plates, cutlery etc. thank you in advance.
Same rules apply for left handed people except you hold fork in your right hand and knife in your left.
@@JamilaMusayeva thank you :)
Please, make another video about other fruits like mango
Thanks
Welcome
Thanks😊🙏
Welcome 😊
Great video! Can you do a video on how to eat informal foods like tacos and chips and salsa please?
Thank you!
You are looking soo pretty
Thank you!
Can you please make a video on library etiquette
your make up looks so beautiful in the video .. can you do the tutorial for it with all the products used?
I am not sure what exactly I used here but I have some makeup tutorials on my channel. I pretty much use the same products.
@@JamilaMusayeva yeah, i watched one today 👌🏻👍🏻
Full video is perfect but one think is wrong plz eat banana for your right hand not left hand 😊
I would love to learn etiquette and get a certificate. Any suggestions for good etiquette schools?
Jamila, lately you look really shiny and beautiful! Black truly suits you. Bella
Muchas gracias ❤️
good morning! I have got a question: if I am putting grapes in my mouth with my right hand, do I need to spit the pits onto my right hand? or I can do this to the left hand for this to be easier to place on the left edge of the plate?
thank you for your time
I don't think I would ever eat orange in formal setting. It seems tricky 😅
Джалиля, простите🌸 могу я спросить?) не знаю английский, поэтому смотрю с автоматическим переводом) если съели весь банана, то что лежало по левой части “ мусор» от кожуры, мы прячем в кожуру?)
I appreciate your efforts, but in my opinion if the fruits are served like this it is okay to eat them without fork and knife. Of course, if you are comfortable do it like this. Enjoy your food!
Hey Jamila :)
I tried peeling the orange the way you did but my orange started squirting orange juice everywhere and the one that did squirt out leaked onto the plate.
Do you have any tips on how to manage to get rid of the squirting?Should i use my napkin to wipe away the juices on my plate when no one is looking ?
Never wipe your plate with napkin or anything really.
Chic little black dress 🖤
Thanks
I love her soothing pitch and tone in comparison i sound like a horse with a sore throat😢
You are original, do not compare yourself
How you speak so elegantly, make next vedio on that
Do you have a link for your dress?
The brand is called LilySilk
Cutting the orange is difficult with forks 🍴 😢
It is but it is the only formal way
If it's a formal event, fruit comes peeled and cut. I've never seen anyone eating fruit like this.
No
❤❤
❤️
Мне ещё интересно, сколько есть принято согласно этикету?) банан и апельсин съесть наверное неправильно😅 нужно что-то одно?)))
I am NOT eating an orange like that. The server is cutting that up for me. There's nothing elegant about fumbling through a whole orange using a fork and a knife. If that's fine dining, should an orange even be allowed to be served that way? Are we dining at a supermarket? Yikes.
Same! I just commented about this. I've never seen fruits are served like this jn a formal setting or fine dining restaurant.
And also fish species
I'd never be invited again if I started eating fruit that way 😅😂 💕
