This newborn baby elephant was separated from its parents and the herd during a busy roaming session they had moving from a region to another. This baby was left helpless wandering near a farming village when some locals discovered this baby. They contacted the wildlife authorities to come to this scene to resue this baby elephant. Officers quickly conducted a preliminary medical session before they took this baby elephant to a facility they have nearby. They will search for the herd this baby elephant belongs to and will do their best to reunite this baby elephant with its family while keeping it safe and healthy with them.

Sri Lankans know how to take good care of baby elephants. After giving water baby elephant will get cows milk in bottles and soon it will regain its health. I love baby elephants, they are so wonderful. Pray for this baby to get well soon and join its mother.
You can't feed baby elephants cow milk it can kill them. Dame Sheldruck in Africa was the first the develop proper baby elephant formula took her many years of trial and error, baby elephants are very fragile until their milk teeth come in. They can get terrible diarrhea and die from heartbreak and loss of fluids.
You never give cow’s milk to elephant calves. They are unable to tolerate it because of the high fat content and can get appalling life threatening diarrhoea. Dame Daphne Sheldrick took years of trial and error to find a substitute and it has to be modified depending on the age. They are doing a lot of research in South Africa and Zimbabwe, a sad necessity because of the increase in orphans due to poaching and climate change. The other essential ingredient for her survival is company, especially other elephants and I hope she wasn’t left alone in that enclosure for long. At the SWT nursery outside Nairobi a keeper is with an orphan all the time, plus they have the different aged other orphans during the day to learn from. It’s a long hard road, but they have been very successful at returning these wonderful animals back into the African bush, where they belong.
Elephants calves cannot digest cows milk.
It makes them very sick.

Feed her milk in bottle like how babies feed in South Africa. Show care and compassion to baby.

No, I'm sorry to inform you that you have no idea what you are talking about. Luckily I'm here to give you some knowledge. That little calf didn't want water. The little calf wanted it's mouth + trunk stuffed full with dung, and it wanted dung rubbed/smeared all over it's face and body. When a calf puts it's trunk in it's mouth it's a sign that it wants and needs dung badly. A mother elephant always stuffs her calf's mouth + trunk full with her dung, and will always rub/smear her dung all over her little calf's face multiple times daily as needed to keep it feeling happy, warm, and safe. Without dung, a little calf will become confused, and very terrified. Eventually the terrified little calf will experience an extreme rush of fatigue and weakness, and the little calf's need for dung will become so strong that it will become brokenhearted. Dung withdrawal can be very dangerous, and fatal for a little calf. Long story short, that calf was asking those guys to stuff it's mouth + trunk full with dung, and wanted them to rub/smear dung all over it's little trunk, face, and body.
@@davejohnson2085 Oh, please!! I've studied the results of the Sheldrick foundation for years and NEVER once was that mentioned. Just like a human baby does with their fingers, an ellie uses it's trunk as a pacifier. They will also such on a humans fingers for the same reason.

Love how at 3:19 she points at the guy with her lil trunk then points into his lil mouth signaling that she wants more please 🥺 so adorable yet heartbreaking,baby should be with her momma doing baby elephant things. I know the trunk in mouth is a greeting and appropriation as well,that's why you her trying to put her trunk in the dudes mouth towards the face lol. Still believe in the heat of the moment,she was signaling she was thirsty and thought wouldn't understand her so it was probably both

They don't save elephants. They kidnap them to use as work elephants. These guys get donations and youtube revenue from naive people that think this is a rescue. You will NEVER see an update of these babies. Watch closely at the end when the baby is going on the ramp, you will see one of those torture sticks quickly come to view. Real rescuers don't use those.

Not rescuing at all. They were not sensitive to the fact that it's newborn, needs milk, needs to be held, caressed and spoken to gently. What an inept group.
Nonsense. That little calf wants and needs shit (dung) very badly. They should've been constantly stuffing the little calf's mouth + trunk full with dung, and they should've been rubbing/smearing dung all over the little calf's face and body to make it feel happy, warm, and safe. A mother elephant will always stuff's her calf's mouth+ trunk full with her dung, and will always rub/smear her dung all over her little calf's face and body multiple times daily as needed to keep it feeling happy, warm, and safe. This is why keepers at elephant orphanages will provide visitors with pie tins filled with adult female elephant dung. They do this so you can "pie face" a little calf with the dung pies. A calf loves to be greeted with a face full of dung.

Man this was as depressing as hell,poor thing just got ants to be cuddled and loved and ends up basically in jail,thank you to the rescuer's.i know they try their hardest to do whatever they can for the orphans...every rescued calf is gonna be sad,depressed, and angry when they get picked up if they're not on a death bed
They are keeping baby from predators but yes someone should sleep with him never leave baby elephants alone they get very depressed.
@@WindTurbineSyndrome I never realized how much of a "baby" baby elephants really are 😓 they can't even drink water on their own,baby just knows to suckle and swallow.i thought a baby could at least go to the watering hole and drink,they can't use their trunks t feed or drink until they're like 4-5 months old. They might be big and strong but are basically a giant infant until 1 yr old,and still are heavily dependent on their mother for almost everything,it wouldn't survive alone until like 3-4 years old,and at that age they still don't go far away from mom
@@WindTurbineSyndrome The trainer will sleep with the baby and it will become a work elephant. Most of the Sri Lanka elephant rescue channels are fake. The true rescue channels: show updates, tell you where they are, let the elephants roam, and don't use those torture irons ( you'll see it near the end when the baby is getting off the ramp)
