"Working for the Weekend",.."Lucky Ones",..."Take Me To the Top"...and "The Kid is Hot Tonight" are a few other cool songs by LoverBoy!!
Take me to the top, love that one.
Hot Girls In Love.
@@Lonejustice1 Yes,...that one too!! I also like "Gangs in the Street" & "When it's Over"!!!
My post-high school bar band did "Working for the Weekend". I'm having a flashback.
"When It's Over" is one of my favorites.
Loving every minute of it, 80s rock bands rule, even forty years later.
Yes, please!
Yeah man, I'm 56 and still rockin the 80s.
loving every minute of it pales in comparison to this song you bot... (we're not gonna take it)(just sayin)
Gonna turn 52 this year and this tune makes me feel like a teen again. Loverboy still rockin. Rock on Brad & Lex
congrats for making it this far
@@kennethv5250 Kenneth....yr bad...m 58.
Loverboy personified the rock bands of the 80's. Working for the Weekend is another great song.
If you were at a party up here in Canada in the 80's these guys were being played.
Saw them at P.N.E 🇨🇦
Yup.
Was played just as much in the U.S.
@@HyperInflation2020 in the south or just along border States? Were they big? I never knew that...,
@@quincee3376 They've sold as many if not more recordings in the U.S. than Canada. Yes they were huge here and to this day they are on constant rotation on rock stations. They perform many shows.
They are widely respected throughout the U.S.
I was 15 when this came out. Friends in the neighborhood and I were riding bicycles ruling the world, with boom box taped to our handlebars jamming to this song. Gosh the good ole days.
did you have a sweatband?
truth
@@longfootbuddy lol. That would had been a tad metrosexual before it became a thing.
Loverboy has some great songs... "Working for the Weekend" , "When It's Over", "Kid is Hot Tonight", "Notorious" , "Lovin' Every Minute Of It."
Also Heaven in Your Eyes and Destination Heartbreak!
Lovin' Every Minute of it is about a vibrator, lol listen to the lyrics. Great song though.
Under rated group. You need to listen to more of their catalog.
Lex is adorable how she’s always bouncing around to the music and looking for Brad’s reaction!!
♥
She is playing you! Performing!
Brad is the man, and he's got it made. He spun the wheel and got an angel.
@@nathanield4035 "playing, performing" like in
faking it? If thats what you meant, you are so wrong.
@@nathanield4035 For myself, and having watched their other channels. I do not at all get the vibe of performance from Lex. Their other channels give you an intimate feel of who they are and their energy, aura & vibe! I've watched many reaction channels that feed strictly off of performance, this is not that place.
the 80s had so much diversity. New Wave, Punk, Disco, Heavy Metal, Ska, Hair Metal, Rockabilly, etc. it was like all eras of pop music all blended together in one decade.
I am 56 years old and I LOVE LOVE that the younger generations are listening I was listening to as a teenager! We had the best era in music I think! We had soft rock, hair bands, and the infancy of rap. It was a great time to grow up in. ❤️
The 80's was THE decade for music...all music. 80's music could go head to head with anything being done nowadays
And surpass it by a country mile !!!
Was a child of the 80s...80s music sucked(mostly). 70s and 90s FAR superior..
You can put sounds of dripping faucets against today's music and still find the faucets more interesting.
@savetheoligarchs the Smiths were great...but the 80s mostly sucked. And i graduated highschool in 89 so I know.
What was great about the 80s. Madonna? Electro-pop? Hair metal? There was def SOME good music(janes addiction etc), but by in large not a good decade..
Excellent Canadian content, Triumph and Loverboy 👍👍
Triumph never gets enough love. I saw them in '81. One of the best live performances I've seen. Unbelievable talent in that band. Every bit as good as Rush who I saw twice back then.
Another classic really enjoying this 80s pop/soft rock vibe you guys have been on.
Dang! I forgot how good these guys were. The opening guitar was great, and that lead singer can hit some NOTES, can't he? Great song.
Loverboy is my favorite rock band. Only the Lucky Ones, Working for the weekend, Loving every minute of it, take me to the top, Kid is hot tonight, and It's Your Life are all great hits.
I am a child of the 80's and I love that music. I am glad you guy's enjoy it as well. Thanks for reacting to it.
Another good Canadian band. Rush, Triumph, Tragically Hip, The Guess Who, April Wine, Trooper, Chilliwack, I could go on, and on. Nice
I saw Loverboy in concert at the San Francisco Cow Palace in 1981. They were the warm up group for Journey. That was an awesome show. Listening to Journey singing City by the Bay was a treat on a par with Springsteen singing Jersey Girl at a concert in NJ.
That's pretty funny. I just posted how my 1982 high school yearbook had those two acts as the biggest of the year (and I was in NorCal, too boot, lol).
Saw them in Houston,Tx. with Zebra opening for them. I got so stoned I passed a " cigarette" 🚬 to a security guard
So lucky
GREAT SONG. gotta love early 80's rock music.
Mike Reno, the lead singer here, did a duet with Ann Wilson of Heart entitled Almost Paradise. It's worth checking out. It's a nice rock ballad from the early 80's
☺️🎤🎵👍
Mike Reno steals the show on the Making of Tears are Not Enough video, great fun guy.

Hey what's up guys! Greetings from South Florida! You guys rock! Loverboy has a lot of cool songs from back then, check them all out. another Canadian band from the 80s
I still love it when Mike Reno sings FLYYYYYYY!! Excellent voice!
This song takes me back to my elementary school years. It was such a great time to be in. Such vivid memories in my head and feels in my heart!
This is DEFINITELY my all time favourite Canadian band. I have seen these boys FIVE times over the years, and every performance is AWESOME!
So glad you guys finally are reacting to Loverboy, they have a whole greatest hit album.
Ann and Nancy Wilson, provided so much for rock n roll over the years.
80s music might just be the best music for workouts! I do all my working out online now, saves me a lot of time and effort!
Watching Brad and Lex reminds me of my wife and I when we were first going out. We'd be on the dance floor and she'd be bopping around and I'd be kinda standing there, nodding my head... just happy to be with her.
OMG....TALK ABOUT AMAZING MEMORIES. THANK YOU!!!!
I was stationed with the Army in Ft.Huachuca Arizona when this came out in '81 I believe. It was blasting out of many barracks windows. Those were the days
Streetheart, another great Canadian band from the 80's
Mike Reno has such an incredible voice. Also, for anybody wanting to learn the bass guitar this is an excellent song to practice to.
Glad you are giving Canadian bands some love.
I appreciate the contribution made by Canadian bands.
81-82 was a great time for music. So many great songs and bands.
One of the best tunes to cruise in your car to. Used to work for GM (General Motors)..A car factory and majority of us had our boom boxes & radios tuned in to rock radio stations. These tunes kept us movin!!
Gotta do Everybody's Working For the Weekend. That was the big Friday afternoon radio song. A lot of cool songs by them.
Just about every Rock station in Canada played this at 5pm on Friday when it came out.
@@toddstevens13
If the radio didn't play it, someone's car stereo tape deck sure as hell did.
@@BlackieNuff They are still out there rocking the place although like most guys in their 60's. the higher vocals need a little help, but damn, does it matter.
Formed in Toronto. Moved to Vancouver. Lead singer Mike Reno is from Metro Vancouver.
Managed by Bruce Allen, who manages BTO and Prism. In the late 1970s, Bryan Adams got Bruce Allen to manage him.
In 1983, Bryan Adams wrote Jump with Jim Vallance, MR, PD and drummer Matt Frennette.
Written by Mike Reno and Paul Dean. Produced by Dean and the late Bruce Fairbairn. Engineered by Bob Rock.
Peak Loverboy! 1980.
They still perform today. Same lineup but Ken Spinnaeve is on bass guitar. Scott Smith was lost at sea in San Francisco Bay. 😢 KS played in a band with Paul Dean in the early 1970s. That band broke up. KS joined Red Rider, where the lead singer was Tom Cochrane.
Suggested video 📹 Loverboy performs Working for the Weekend.
RIP Bruce Fairbairn and Scott Smith. 🇨🇦
can always see lexs eyes transport back in time to these classic rock songs
Classic Disco Rock at its best... was a must be played for 20 years in every rock dance club in Germany
When it’s over, the kid is hot tonight, hot girls in love, queen of broken hearts, strike zone, lovin every minute of it!
RIP Scott Smith, bassist for Loverboy who you hear laying down that killer groove on that Spector bass. Not to mention that incredible voice of Mike Reno. Loverboy ruled the airwaves in the 80's and were absolutely off the chain live! Thanks for giving this one a listen and there's a lot more from them you need to check out.
MTV and Loverboy 80's pure Greatness.
This was Loverboy's first hit song back in the early '80s, and it was a real banger back in the day!
You got that right, lady!
I am METAL to my core. with that being said... this song has best bass lines in rock n roll history. It really is a very intricate song.
Lady of the 80s !! rocks guitar solo !!
Yes, a Canadian Band!!!! They put on a great show!!
I was lucky enough to see loverboy back in 81, they opened for ZZ Top here in El Paso, TX at the county Coliseum! Great times indeed.
I love how her eyes are always looking around... She's alert. Y'all are jamming out!
80’s musical energy was so fun! I felt the 90’s had a lot of talent but the sound was full of depression in a lot of it. Pearl Jam didn’t add much to a party. 😎
I agree for the most part with the only exception according to my personal experience partying with friends to Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others were the absolute BEST when tripping on LSD!!!
Felt the same way. There was all this angst and negativity in music, yet people were generally doing pretty well in the 90s. Bands like Everclear were so whiny I just wanted to turn it off. 80s music made you want to TURN IT UP!
My cat Biscuit really likes Loverboy. She loves Pink Floyd too. Biscuit has great taste in music!
One of my favorite rock bands loverboy this is one beautiful song and music it's rock music they had great music and song's
First concert I ever went to, lovin every minute of it circa 1986 richfield Coliseum.
BRUH..IT JUST HIT DIFFERENT...MY FAVORITE ROCK SONG OF ALL TIME!!! 👍👍👍
Lex says don't bother stopping when I'm rocking and a bopping. Nuff said.
Try Loverboy's 'Workin' for the Weekend'. Also Joe Walsh ' Rocky Mountain Way'. These guys were all in my generation of music. Kurt
Lex never stops smiling. Love it.
I love this song. They have a few great tracks this one is my favorite.
I love how you two interact. You are so cute together.
It’s amazing, every single song you guys have ever played I grew up on lol
Another great Canadian Band.
Myrtle Beach , circa '82 or '83 , this song was played once an hour on the local radio station that all the boom boxes on the beach were tuned in on ! Good memories to a twelve year old me .
This song is all about the subtle things, from the personality in the vocals, in the guitar, the backing vocals and the production quality that wraps all the little audio details in the track.
I saw them in the late 80s they put on a great show. They actually sound just like this at a live show. Great vocals
80s, best decade of music ever!
Classic Song, They Rocked at one time.
Here we go! They were great!! This song rocked.
This one got lots of air time on rock radio back in the day. Solid!
You guys are on a run of Canadian bands. Maybe some Prism next 👌
Armageddon
Young and Restless
spaceship superstar
Prism is also noteworthy for launching the careers of several former group members, including international record producer Bruce Fairbairn, songwriter Jim Vallance, Powder Blues Band frontman Tom Lavin and Headpins and Chilliwack musician Ab Bryant. A pre-fame Bryan Adams also contributed as a songwriter to several early Prism releases
Prism has almost been forgotten by folks today and yet their legacy and their former members have made one of the greatest contributions to Canadian music. I pasted a bit from their Wikipedia page above.
Vancouver has been such an under-rated power house of rock of various genres: Loverboy, Skinny Puppy, Bryan Adams, Payolas, 54-40, Chilliwack, ... Then there's all the amazing albums recorded there and pivotal concerts held there. Metallica, Bon Jovi, ... David Bowie started his Thin White Duke tour there.
Nothing like a widest variety of music possible...even if 1 genre is the favorite...don't miss out on what ALL IS OUT THERE...AMM...
I saw Loverboy open for Journey in 1982...wow forty years ago..was a great show.
I saw Loverboy in concert a few years ago during their 40th anniversary tour. They still sound great!
Working for the weekend is another good one, but this one is still my favorite.
this is one of those classic songs were the falsetto falls of into his lower key and then the high pitch scream joined by the rest as they progress in the song classic 80's
There's nothing like walking into a karaoke bar and hitting that "Flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy My Waaaaaaayyy!" If people weren't watching before, it makes their heads spin every time!
In this episode of Brad & Lex, the strong rock synthesizer followed by a steady build of guitars invite the couch companions into the house the Canadian band built. Give Brad the opportunity and he will sum up the song swiftly saying its about sewing them oates before sliding in his signature "side to side sway" as Lex perfects her "bounce bop" before proposing her low beat/up beat theory.
I see that you are developing a nice following. I know that I do. 👍
@@willasacco9898 Thanks Willa!
Classic
such a powerful vibe....STILL......
The Lucky Ones, Take Me to the Top, When It's Over, Loving Every Minute of It, These all have different vibes and are my faves.
I am glad you came onto another Canadian Rock Band... these guys are still around doing their thing their way. LOL... Song you can listen to from these guys if they come up, 'Gangs In The Street" "Working For The Weekend", "When It's Over", "Take Me To The Top", "Strike Zone", "Lucky Ones" and many more all from the 80s. I hope you will listen to some more of "Loverboy"
Another great Canadian 80’s band.
Yall hit jackpot with this band there are loaded in songs
Flashback 🤣 my first concert at 16. Loverboy and Foreigner. 40+ yrs ago
If you have ever been in a relationship where you just weren't feeling it but the partner wanted commitment then this song really hits home
Love Loverboy! Back in the day, I don’t think I gave them enough credit because of how they looked…immature, I know but I was a teenager. Mike Reno has a heck of a voice!😍
Lovin every minute of it, is my favorite loverboy song
I saw them here in Jacksonville back in the 80s. They were ok, but I really went to see the opening band Zebra. I LOVED Zebra. Their 2 big hits are still in my playlist to this day.
I am the bass player at my church. I play this bass opening to this song before we get started as part of my warmup. None of the younger people have any clue what this is that I am playing.
Lol … love it. ImI
Knock knock. Who's Behind the Door?
@@brettkenschaft4239 Yup. Who's Behind The Door and Tell Me What You Want.
Love to see Lex getting into those guitar solos. Totally feeling it.
solid band. High School memories abound.
Oh, so we're going into this now? Y'all need to check out:
"On The Loose" by Saga
"Feel It Again" by Honeymoon Suite
"Ah Leah" by Donnie Iris
and "All The Young Heroes" by Gary O
Mark it. Cletus is absolutely on point here
Saga’s song On the Loose is so much fun! I always turn it up when it comes on the radio!
Don't forget "All the Young Dudes by Mott The Hoople.
@@WilliamTheMovieFan Saga is still at it, sadly they play in front of less then 1000 here at home in Canada, but then 20,000 in Germany and Puerto Rico before COVID hit.
@@toddstevens13 ok, but I'm aiming at early '80s here.
What's even more amazing and out of this world...they sound exactly the same TODAY!!!
My top 4 favorite groups when I was in high school (79-82) were Loverboy, Foreigner, Def Leppard, and REO Speedwagon.
Favorite band of all time in the 80’s ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is my fav Loverboy track. Many memories from the HS dance scene. 🎉
I saw this song and album live when I was 15 at the Oregon jam, and damn straight lived just like that in 1982! That was my theme song! For years! Until I got serious about life a lot of years later. But damn I had fun. No doubt about it! The 80s was the shit. No better time to be a teenager. I lived it!
I bought this on a 45 single in 1980. I might still have it. "Turn Me Loose" was their first hit single, (at least in the US, not sure about Canada where they are from).
Loverboy will be touring with Styx and REO Speedwagon this year...
I love the "OO-ooo; OO-ooo" in the background.
80s played the hell out of this.
Classic Album cover!!
Ate you trying to get 🇨🇦 citizenship? Lol. Keep it up with the Canadian content. We have much to be proud of!
Trying to get them to dive into the hip
I used to be a road manager for country/rock band and we did a festival show with this band. It was called the Redwood Run in northern California. Sponsored by Easy Rider magazine made for a wild scene. Anyhow, Mike Reno had his own personal massage therapist on the road with him.
