This is awesome! You’re reacting to one of my all-time favorite songs. Aldo Nova is fire and so is this song. He lives in Montreal, but he’s of Italian decent, not French. Most people don’t know he won a Grammy for writing a Celine Dion song. He also played the keyboards for Bon Jovi’s song “Runaway” on the album. He’s friends, or at least was with Jon Bon Jovi.

Pretty sure that Aldo Nova played lead on Bon Jovi's first album and Ritchie came on board after & had to play Aldo's riffs for the rest of his life. For me, had the cassette and thought this song was an appropriate introduction of myself as it was the first song I "cranked". There were no lyrics in the tape and long since forgot about this guy and this song. So today was the first time I saw all the lyrics. Don't think I got the coke reference back on '82.
