  • A wander around the abandoned slate mines just above Tanygrisiau, a small village in North Wales just outside Blaenau Ffestiniog. This features a visit to two abandoned mines and the remains of the buildings that survive, as well as a steep walk up some mountain pathways and a very still and calm lake.
A wonderful place to visit with a lot of history.

The white cottage is used by the company who do those hardcore tours down some of the mines,. They have also opened up a "hotel" that you can stay in, basically takes 6 hours having to climb through the mines, stay overnight and another 6 hours back.

Great views that Mr. Average will never see with a climb like that. Thank you. PS . Pronounce how you like its a foreign language after all.

Time was when the greater part of the west of England/Wales spoke Welsh. English is the foreign language.
