I'm new to Chromebook and ran into this issue.Tried to download an android app for the first time and the download was stuck on *Pending...* indefinitely. This sent me down a rabbit hole of Chromebook android app compatibility videos, of which there are many. Turns out, my default settings didn't allow app downloads unless I was plugged in and charging. Hope this helps someone.

Unfortunately if your device is not on this list of supported devices (sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps) then you cannot run Android apps.

In these situations you can often reach out to the developers and see if that's something they plan to do in the near future. If they get enough interest they will often add that functionality. I have play store installed on my chromebook but as soon as i select any app to be downloaded, it installs itself on my mobile phone which has the same google account and i never have the option "open" app after installed on my chromebook :( i wonder is it because it isn't compatible or am i doing something wrong?
Depending on how fast the processor is, you can play more graphically intensive games. However there are still some new Asus chrome books that can't quite drive games like Call of Duty. But you should give it a try!

Sadly some apps do not take the time to convert their apps to also run on a Chromebook. There's a chance they're still developing that feature. You can reach out to the developer from their Play Store page and let them know you would like that functionality added!
If you made the bootable drive yourself, probably not. You can check supported devices on this site: sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps

You should be able to run almost any app. However that doesn't mean that the app will run well. If the app developer has done no modifications for the app to run on a Chrome OS device, then the input and controls may not work properly.

Unfortunately this feature is only available on select chromebooks.
