I would definitely add onion and like you I am not a fan of mixing in the eggs, definitely scramble separately. Fresh pico is delicious on them. Heck, I can eat pico by itself with nothing.
Yes! I like to add the cheese separately and usually add sour cream and taco sauce (I like the green sauce, personally) on top of the eggs and other ingredients before I wrap up the burrito. I wasn't hungry, but now I am. LOL

Also i do add cayanne peper and i also prefer to add Onion and a fresh diced jalapeno with the peppers. Salsa is always welcome. Also my favorite way is sometimes called a crazy breakfast burrito and has ham bacon and chorizo sausage. Also you can try adding green chilis to the egg mixture and hold off on adding the last half of the cheese and put it on a warmed tortilla then put your fill8ng mixture over top the cheese. Or try baking tater tots and using them rather than the potatoes for a crunchiwr experience.
I am sure someone has said it already but salsa is great on a breakfast burrito, as is guacamole or sour cream (creme fraiche, crema). Also diced onions are great as is some chopped cilantro (if you like cilantro.)
@@raymort3"Student Burritos," we called them when I was in college! There was a place near my school that made them the size of an adult's shoe! Some could eat them all in one sitting, but many would make more than one meal out of them, as you are wont to do as a student. They were a break from ramen and boxed mac & cheese!😅
A tip for your next burrito recipe. Heat up the tortillas on an open flame or griddle until there is a tiny bit of color on them. It makes the tortilla more pliable and actually improves the flavor of the tortilla. Also, there is usually some kind of salsa (red or green) to go in the breakfast burrito.

Nice job guys! I had one of these today but didn't have bell pepper, but did have onion. So I caramelized onion, added the sausage towards the end. I diced the potatoes in 1/4" cubes and mixed them in taco seasoning and a dash of oil and put them in the air fryer. In a seperate pan towards the end scrambled the eggs shredded the cheese over the eggs when they were nearly done. I put everything in the cast iron off the heat give it a quick mix. spread it on a tortilla and roll 'er up. I eat mine with salsa and hot sauce. I can't wait til morning for another one. It takes 12 minutes start to finish and wash up.
Hey, y'all. From Tennessee, currently living in Kentucky. Personally, I'd have cut the potatoes to 1/2" and added some diced onion to the peppers. Dribble a little salsa or hot sauce over it.
You need to try quesobirria. It's a cross between a quesadilla and a taco made from a delicious chili-pepper-stewed meat (traditionally goat but beef is way more popular in the US). And since it came up in the beginning of the video, the difference between tacos and burritos comes down to pretty much how the tortilla is folded, although burritos tend to almost always be in flour tortillas and for the sake of practicality, usually use much larger tortillas. Tacos use anything from tiny to medium tortillas and in Mexico, it's largely a regional thing as to whether they're flour or corn (comes down to what grows where. But for some reason Americans tend to think of corn as more authentic. This American recognizes both as authentic but just finds corn a little more delicious)
Tips for cooking. Use more oil for veggies and potatoes. Let the patties brown before breaking up. After rolling the burrito you need to throw it on the hot pan to toast a bit so its not raw
So, you are right about the Potato. You want to cut it into smaller pieces. You want 2 things from the potato, you want a soft inside fully cooked and a crispy crust on the outside. If you look online for country potatoes in the US, you will see what I mean. The smaller the size of the cubed potatoes, the more crispy crust you get. They look great!
When you’re wrapping a sandwich or burrito etc. try and wrap it more taut. Holds things in place. Same with cutting things like cheesesteaks and hoagies, press down or in because they stay together, more compressed, easier to eat. You guys are good for the most part, just the little things.
@@Mrhandfriendswhat I would do is remove the egg mixture from the skillet then add the tortillas to warm up directly in the pan so they take a little of the oil and flavor that has been left from the mixture then when soft and pliable add the egg mixture with cheese and then wrap up and fully wrap the burrito up and sear the outside of the tortilla for some crunch.
Green Chile Bacon from a local New Mexico spot is definitely the top of the Breakfast Burrito chain.🌯 Pico or hot sauce doesn't really sound like a southwest opinion which is the only one that matters 😂
That looks really good. The only suggestion I would make would be to heat the tortilla over the open fire directly on the grate turning them every few seconds until they puff up a bit. I do this all the time...learned this from my Mexican inlaws... and the taste is much better than just warming them.
You better be on the lookout doing that because if you over cook them they break easily trying to wrap. Coming from another Mexican. Lightly steaming is the best way to make them pliable. Torts are already pre-cooked but if you wanted to brown them a bit before steaming would be fine.
Yep.... so much better if you heat the tortilla over an open fire or at least in a pan before. Makes them softer and tastier. If you are in a pinch you can even heat them up in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
I like cholula hot sauce on my breakfast burritos, but a good red salsa is good too. Most people have a hot sauce preference like tobasco, tapatio, etc.
You don't need to boil your potatoes. You can dice them up smaller and cook them directly in your skillet then add your peppers and onions. Usually I cook the bacon or sausage first that way you can use the fat to cook the potatoes and vegetables in for more flavor.
Burritos are rolled, tacos are folded. Also burritos use bigger tortillas. Breakfast tacos are great. Pico de Gallo, a mixture of diced onion, tomato, and jalapeno with minced cilantro (corriander?) and lime juice really freshens them up. Usually with a bit of hot sauce. (I prefer Valentina, but Tapatio, or Cholula are also good.)
New Mexico (origin of the breakfast burrito), a breakfast burrito is usually sausage or bacon, hash browns (nice and crispy), scrambled eggs, cheese (usually cheddar) red or green chili, wrapped in a flour tortilla. some people like refritos (beans) I prefer my sausage with red chili and bacon with green chili. burrito is flour wrapped, and a taco is made with corn tortilla (not wrapped). some restaurants will smother the burrito in a red or green chili sauce and cheese (to be eating with a fork). I usually make breakfast burritos every Saturday morning. I have never seen bell peppers in a breakfast burrito (although chili peppers are a variety of bell pepper). do need more eggs to cover everything
The thing with this kind of dish is that you can literally put anything you want in it. Since it’s breakfast ideas are scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes, salsa, hot sauce, sausage, bacon. Any one or more of these items can be called breakfast burritos because it’s all wrapped up in a tortilla.
I agree. To me, a breakfast burrito is just a scrambled omelet in a tortilla. Throw in whatever you think would go good in an omelet. I would add ham, mushrooms, and onions to your list above. Also, I like to throw in a little pico de gallo salsa to give it a little extra flavor. However, do so at the very end in order to keep the tomatoes from disintegrating. I would also recommend taking the pan off the heat before adding the cheese. The heat from the rest of the mixture should be plenty to melt it, and taking it off the heat reduces how much it sticks to the pan and spoon.
Always put the burrito in the pan and brown it on both sides with some butter. Firm up the tortilla and adds a nice buttery crunch. It also holds together well.
Looks yummy. To enhance the flavor, I would've added onion to the peppers. (Pretty much never cook peppers without onions) Also, add some a red seasoning like cayenne or chili pepper or even paprika. And then definitely add salsa and/or jalapeños. But solid first cook. The seasonings in the sausage probably made it.
I think you did need some more oil with the potatoes so they would have browed up more nicely, but it did turn out lookin good. I agree a little salsa, taco sauce and a dab of sour cream probably would be a welcome addition.
A breakfast taco is traditionally a smaller taco (corn or flower) folded like a hotdog and a breakfast burrito is a larger tortilla (flower) wrapped like a wrap
Now I'm going to have to make some breakfast burritos. If you warm the tortillas in the cast iron skillet until they have a little color, it adds a nice crunchy texture. We make a few to heat up in the morning for a quick breakfast
I grew up with breakfast burritos with homemade flour tortillas, which require lard, salt and baking powder. For the eggs, I add diced green bell peppers, chopped onion, garlic powder, red chili flakes, chapped parsley and chopped chives. I usually add diced ham, pork sausage, bacon and yellow cheese. We also made our own tomato salsa and salsa verde.
Basically, the only difference between a breakfast taco and a breakfast burrito is the size of the tortilla. Tacos are smaller and don't wrap all the way around the filling (well, basically like a "regular" soft taco). Burritos are larger and completely enclosed, usually, or sometimes open on one end like you did here. I love a breakfast burrito (or taco) any time of the day. Sometimes I add taco sauce, sometimes I don't. I'm glad you tried this! you did well!
Dude you are becoming such a Texan🤣🤣🤣🤣 and a damn good cook because of it!!!! Your dish is totally TexMex!!!! You are using the simple ingredients with all the new knowledge you keep acquiring daily about how to cook American food, and if you’re not careful you will become a legend cook in your neighborhood not to mention Texas!!! ❤️!!!!! Keep on keeping on hombre!!! I’m getting a kick on everything you produce!!!! 🤩 So says Austin Tx!!! 😎🍸
I highly recommend you heat up the tortillas. You can do on your cast iron skillet. Just heat them up till they’re better cooked. They can taste so bland straight out of the package. And of course, salsa/ picante sauce is always recommended for more flavor.
I love your videos guys 💞😍! I have a suggestion for the tortillas.. you should put it in the skillet and flip it several times, so as to give it a browned, lightly texture. They are so much better that way. If you have a gas top range, you can toss it on the burner and rotate it a couple times. I think you will enjoy the texture. Great job on the cooking videos 😍
Also, since you liked avocado in the BLATs a nice fresh add on at the end in addition to the pico is sliced avocado or you could use guacamole though I prefer just avocado on breakfast. Love those fresh ingredients with the cooked and gives a variety of textures. Would personally also add more cheese but also just a preference in me and my American coming out lol. Sour cream or avocado crema is another idea. You guys always make my day when you post a video.
Great job you two, love watching you be brave and try new things! For the new Burritos, roll and fold then set them in the pan to toast. Crispy tortilla, more cheese, salsa....enjoy
Hello from Texas! Looks delicious! We always eat our breakfast burritos with picante or salsa spooned or drizzled over them. As a variation we sometimes substitute bacon for the sausage.
When I was stationed in Germany in the early 90's, my friend's wife was Mexican, and her family owned a small restaurant chain. She made the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. They were similar to this; however, she added bacon as well. As a Yank, you can never go wrong with bacon, IMHO. I make mine similar to this, but with bacon, onions, cilantro, and chorizo. Very tasty indeed. Cheers! Keep the great videos coming, please. Edit: I typed this before seeing the end. Some people like theirs with salsa, or a bit of sour cream, or both.
I use a lot of sour cream in cooking. And as a topping on almost everything. I often add salt and pepper to my sour cream. Depending on what I'm eating. You could add any seasoning to sour cream. It's just what I do. And, I have to chuckle when I see people measuring salt and pepper. I just do it to how we like it.
Salsa verde for my breakfast burrito please! Your rendition looked delicious. I think the big peppery potatoes would be a nice thing even though they were bigger than what I am used to, and it appears as though you got a good color on them.
Breakfast burritos! One of the finest things you can have in the morning. A little better eaten outside, on a cold morning, with some hot beverage nearby. Lovely. Some guacamole or sliced avocado is good, cheese is good, spicy salsa is nice, eggs with bacon is very popular. But it’s a delicious meal.
Watching you cook that made me hungry. That means you did a really good job! I may do some of these for dinner tonight (yes, we sometimes have breakfast for dinner). There's no wrong way to make a breakfast wrap/burrito/taco. Just add the things you like and enjoy! Personally, I like sauteed onions with bell peppers and some sort of salsa or hot sauce lightly drizzled on the contents before wrapping it up. Also, cooking the eggs separately is something I prefer to do.
I usually cook the eggs separately so you have larger chunks of egg with the sausage, potato, & peppers mix (you can also add onion and/or bacon). Spread the cooked mixture into your burrito and then add your cheese and a splash of salsa (you can also add fresh jalepeno & avacado slices). Wrap up the burrito and add salsa to each bite.
You did a great job. A few other breakfast taco variations to try: Brisket, egg, potato, cheese and tomatillo salsa (Torchys taco makes the best) Refried bean, bacon, and egg Chorizo and egg Bacon, egg and cheese Migas is tacos
Sunday evening, our family makes a batch of “breakfast” burritos for lunch the next two days. Mr. H can make a few, wrap well and take them for lunch or the morning commute. Thanks for the share.
Scorch your tortillas, or fry them slightly in butter (not enough to,dry them out) before loading them up. It adds something to the experience. Its similar to what happens if you pan fry a hamburger bun before assembly. Hot sauces, pico, sour cream, guacamole are all popular on breakfast tacos/burritos.
Nice video. Great job on the burrito. Maybe a little butter or ghee when frying the potatoes. I'm all in for hot sauce or pico de gallo on the side to drizzle or spoon on. Cheers from North Carolina, USA.
Now I want to make some for breakfast. Love them. Also very easy to make. I toast mine for a few minutes in my toaster oven after I make them to make the tortilla a little crunchy and to melt the cheese. Dipped in my favorite tomato/onion/jalapeno salsa.
In California, we love our breakfast burritos. I haven’t heard of breakfast tacos, but they sound like breakfast burritos, but in a folded tortilla (wheat or corn) rather than a wrapped tortilla (wheat). When we order breakfast burritos at a Mexican restaurant, you can have them made any way you like them. The ingredients you made yours with are a classic combination, but I would have added some onions (and maybe some bacon) to the bell peppers and cooked everything in butter. (Everything is better with butter!) Also, when you wrap a burrito, you first fold in the sides towards the middle to incapacitate the filling. Then starting from the end closest to you (most of the filling should be on that end of the tortilla) you roll the burrito into a tight roll. The paper is usually part of the roll and helps to keep the burrito closed. The burrito is never served open on one end. It’s a tight, bundle of deliciousness. Breakfast burritos are the perfect commuter or office food. My coworkers and I used to pick some up on the way to work. We love them. Both fresh red and green salsa are often served with Mexican take out. A new 24-hour fast food Mexican restaurant is opening up near my house soon. This chain makes the best breakfast and seafood burritos. I can hardly wait!😋🌯
"Hey" from the Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA. Hope y'all doing outstanding. Enjoy the heck outta ya videos and always look forward to the next one. I think y'all did a good job on ya breakfast burrito. IMHO, any burrito whether breakfast, lunch of dinner is a "customized affair" where ya get to select the ingredients that please ya most. Not that I'm a qualified critic, but the only changes/modifications I would have done is heat the flour tortilla cause a warm one is always better than a cold one, and I would have cut the taters smaller so some bites of the burrito ain't all tater. As another one of ya followers stated I'm a big fan of Salsa Verde (Green Salsa) when it comes to breakfast burritos. Contrary to other meals that include burritos "to me" it just seems Salsa Verde is a nice match. Overall rating of ya culinary experience ? Well done to the both of ya ! Have fun and be safe. :)
I live in Nevada. I owned a small independent coffee shop that did a lot of breakfasts. We made some of the very best breakfast burritos in town. Here are a couple of tips: you have to fold both ends and then do the wrap. Then, you need to brown both sides after it is wrapped to you get a crispy flour tortilla wrap. Salsa is always welcome. Avocado is optional. Don't be afraid to spice it up with fresh hot peppers (Jalapenos are a great choice.) Sour cream is a great option. Don't be short on the cheese (medium or sharp Cheddar is an easy choice). And speaking of cheese, never, ever use the pre-grated cheese of any variety. It is all coated in a form of cornstarch which does exactly what it is supposed to do and keeps it from clumping in the package, but also keeps it from turning the gooey pull that we all want. Use your box grater and you'll be very happy. And one final thought: buy a black pepper grinder. The taste difference is AMAZING!
That certainly looks delicious. I love to put sour cream in my burrito and a bit of hot sauce but really, you can put whatever you enjoy in them. Well done.
Looks pretty good. As others have said you want to heat the tortillas in a pan to get them a little cooked. Also, make the ingredients separate so you can add them . I make some with hashbrowns, eggs, cheese, sausage, with red salsa. Some time I add charro style pinto beans too. Good job!
I love breakfast burritos, quick and easy and can make a huge batch of them for any kind of event . My dads golf buddies love when he makes a huge batch of them 🤣can never go wrong with breakfast burritos
Salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or hot sauce....in any combination is where you get your moisture. And it adds so much flavor. Just add them to the top before every bite

I think smaller cut potatoes would be good.
🙏
And PEEL the potatoes.
Salsa, sour cream..All of it and then some more!❤❤❤❤❤
next time warm up the tortilla. it doesn't taste very good uncooked.
I would have put them in the skillet but we were using it, so I popped them in the oven
If you put them in the oven soft light graze of oil and flip. Usually a light brown white color. On both sides. Ingredients on point but no spice.
Wrap it in a damp towel or paper towel to heat in the oven or microwave, it’ll keep it soft.
I warm mine up in the microwave between to paper towels. About 10 seconds usually does it.
Yes, for a breakfast burrito typically a pico de guayo or some sort of hot sauce is used depending how spicy you like.
I do the same. I like a bit of char on them.
Man do I miss cooking with gas! I LOVED heating tortillas directly over the grates of my stove for a few seconds.
My Mexican son in law was horrified that I warm my tortilla s in the microwave. But I have an electric stove!
Warm up the tortillas in a heated, dry pan. It will be much easier to wrap.
I like cholula hot sauce on my breakfast burritos, but a good red salsa is good too. Most people have a hot sauce preference like tobasco, tapatio, etc.
Smaller and diced potatoes, salsa, and skillet warmed tortillas and it would have been perfect!!
You don't need to boil your potatoes. You can dice them up smaller and cook them directly in your skillet then add your peppers and onions. Usually I cook the bacon or sausage first that way you can use the fat to cook the potatoes and vegetables in for more flavor.
Or use french fries.
@mmmpotstickers8684 what good idea.
Add some diced green chiles (canned) to your mix or finely dice a fresh jalapeno and toss it in with the bell peppers.
Someone serious about their breakfast burritos. I'm loving it. ❤
@ sounds great!
You forgot the salsa inside. Those look wonderful. 😋
I did read to add cayenne if you fancied it. We will try that next time
Yep. Forgot onion! Also, add in some diced jalapeño or Serrano chilies!
Yes I agree, you must have sauteed onion in that mixture, and definitely salsa to add just before eating. So good!
I think you did need some more oil with the potatoes so they would have browed up more nicely, but it did turn out lookin good. I agree a little salsa, taco sauce and a dab of sour cream probably would be a welcome addition.
Amazing Video As Always❤ Yes MR H We Put Some Hot Sauce Or Salsa On Our Breakfast Burrito's!!
A breakfast taco is traditionally a smaller taco (corn or flower) folded like a hotdog and a breakfast burrito is a larger tortilla (flower) wrapped like a wrap
Those looked really yummy! Nice job, H’s!
I highly recommend you try huevos rancheros. I believe you would really enjoy them for breakfast, too.
I’m going to look it up
Now I'm going to have to make some breakfast burritos. If you warm the tortillas in the cast iron skillet until they have a little color, it adds a nice crunchy texture. We make a few to heat up in the morning for a quick breakfast
Pico de Gallo is a must, and add cheese at the very end so it melts over everything inside the tortilla. Great first attempt. You'll get it.
😋❤
I grew up with breakfast burritos with homemade flour tortillas, which require lard, salt and baking powder. For the eggs, I add diced green bell peppers, chopped onion, garlic powder, red chili flakes, chapped parsley and chopped chives. I usually add diced ham, pork sausage, bacon and yellow cheese. We also made our own tomato salsa and salsa verde.
I bet the salsas were to die for
Mmmm...salsa verde!
😊 Thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
North Carolina. Love to watch yall. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Looks delicious. Another great video.
Sauce people, sauce 🌯❤
Mr. H with those knife skills! Love watching you guys make American foods.
Adding salsa brings another element of flavor
Mrs H and Elana are very lucky to have such a good cook in the house.
We are 😍
Looks delicious!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. YOU 3 ARE JUST AWESOME. HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR
And to you my friend ♥️
Looks good!
I highly recommend you heat up the tortillas. You can do on your cast iron skillet. Just heat them up till they’re better cooked. They can taste so bland straight out of the package. And of course, salsa/ picante sauce is always recommended for more flavor.
Pioneer Woman recipes are the best! Have all of her cookbooks and they are amazing! Great Job by the way.
Great video
Great job! Hello from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸
I love that y'all are using a cutting board on your cutting board! Can't blame you. I would too. That's a nice board!
Good job Mr H
All in all it’s a great job
Just a tip on cutting the peppers. Cut them in long strips then arrange them up against eachother. Then just cut them crosswise all at once.
🙏 💓
They look so good. I love just egg and potato burritos too.
I love eggs, sausage, cheese and green chili breakfast burritos with a little avocado aioli. NM does them really well!
Salsa verde for my breakfast burrito please! Your rendition looked delicious. I think the big peppery potatoes would be a nice thing even though they were bigger than what I am used to, and it appears as though you got a good color on them.
Just a note. Diced Chorizo, ham or lingucia works equally as well as pork sausage.
Looks good! I like adding a little sour cream and avocado to add a creamy texture to the burrito. :)
And more cheese!
I think we must have done an ok job then! Enjoy your breakfast for dinner
Yall did a good job! Like I say, in America we do it our way. So, as cousins across the pond, do it your way! :)
You did a great job. A few other breakfast taco variations to try:
Brisket, egg, potato, cheese and tomatillo salsa (Torchys taco makes the best)
Refried bean, bacon, and egg
Chorizo and egg
Bacon, egg and cheese
Migas is tacos
Sunday evening, our family makes a batch of “breakfast” burritos for lunch the next two days. Mr. H can make a few, wrap well and take them for lunch or the morning commute. Thanks for the share.
Also when you toast the tortillas do it in the same pan all the grease and flavor will go in to the tortillas ❤
North Carolina. Yes maybe cut those potatoes alil smaller with better distribution.
Looked delicious.🤤
Good job Guy's
🙏 ♥️
Scorch your tortillas, or fry them slightly in butter (not enough to,dry them out) before loading them up. It adds something to the experience. Its similar to what happens if you pan fry a hamburger bun before assembly. Hot sauces, pico, sour cream, guacamole are all popular on breakfast tacos/burritos.
Great video. I like to mix some jarred salsa and sour cream together and dress my breakfast burrito. Yum. Have a wonderful day.
Nice video. Great job on the burrito. Maybe a little butter or ghee when frying the potatoes. I'm all in for hot sauce or pico de gallo on the side to drizzle or spoon on. Cheers from North Carolina, USA.
Perhaps Americans are very sauce important. I like all different kind of salsas or spicy taco sauce on my burritos.
Now I want to make some for breakfast. Love them. Also very easy to make. I toast mine for a few minutes in my toaster oven after I make them to make the tortilla a little crunchy and to melt the cheese. Dipped in my favorite tomato/onion/jalapeno salsa.
Yum 🤤 ❤
My favorite breakfast.
Adding salsa and sour cream would give you added flavor and moisture. I always put them in my breakfast burritos or anytime burritos. So yummy.
Salsa on pretty much everything!
There’s really no wrong way to make a breakfast burrito
I use hash browns, scramble eggs, sausage links chopped up, LaVictoria green sauce. Makes a nice burrito. Quick and easy.
Oregon, love your site
You can coo the sausage first and use the grease from the sausage to fry the veggies in
Salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or hot sauce....in any combination is where you get your moisture. And it adds so much flavor. Just add them to the top before every bite
