Stunning Miss Rebeka. Stunning. The pianissimo is glorious, but the whole thing is even more impressive. She is the only one who should be allowed to touch this role right now. This role is like the most beautiful chandelier, but if you cannot bring the energy it won't shine any light at all.

Beautiful. I watch out for the career of Marina Rebeka with great interest. I heard very exciting and olympic singing from her and some other ones where i was afraid how long lasting her career would be. I hope it will be a long and successful one just for the fact that she's so immensely gifted with the talent for a true Belcanto- star and world famous career.

I fear it isn’t the lack of great voices and talent, but the dying art of opera and a greater economic and cultural coup in more popular music! I’ve heard great raw talent used in different ways, not always my preference, but lyricists have taken the helm - I fear we may be a dying breed, but I don’t negate our newer generation and its music genre

Lisette tried but very early on the road the wobble got her, dont know if she managed to fix it... and as always the Met is snubbing the greatest alive singer of today like they did with Maria and with so many other great singers and instead they show us ... and ... Bel canto without middle voice (90% of bel canto music is written for the middle voice): No thank you, Bel canto isnt a "hurry up to get to the cadenza" music, its Value lies always in the middle sections and the top notes are the cherry of the cake, absolutely necessary but without middle totally insignificant

I agree. It's a good performance. Very good if you compare with other Stuardas these days but if she wants to be a reference and make justice to the rol, she has to work the chest voice. The middle is good but the bottom is not enough strong.
