People don’t like Batfleck because most comic book fans are effeminate men who can relate to skinny men who struggle with social norms, and like to hold the belief that an 150lb man can take on gangs of criminals unarmed but are afraid of roided up beasts like Affleck because it’s too masculine for them. In a more macho society like vikings I think Affleck would be idolised and the others would be looked down upon..

It's a valid point; Gordon knows enough about Batman after two years to know he's resilient and prepared for a lot, including what to do when needing to get off a rooftop or very high places. It'd be easy to figure out that Batman spends a lot of time in heights where ordinary people don't go. Also, obviously (the intelligent man he is, who has gadgets for many things) would have considered needing a way to survive jumping from a roof or skyscraper.

And that's acting, because Pattinson has no fear of heights. He's jumped out of a plane, parachuting when he was in Australia, and he did most of his own stunts in Tenet, and John David Washington is afraid of heights. He said he "took his courage" from Rob, because Rob was fearless about their stunts where they had to jump off a building.

De mythologising Batman is really fresh when you look at every other serious Batman movie. Tim Burton made him into a pseudo horror character, Nolans Batman made him into more of an idea that doesn't grow it just reinforces itself across the trilogy (even his setback in TDKR is overcome by Bruce's freakish belief in his own creation).
Reeves Batman has an actual character arc that needs to be expounded on in the sequel (whereas Batmans character in 89' and Begins were largely ignored in sequels), they show Bruce Wayne less than ever but you see him more in his Batman IMO.

Surrounded and completely outnumbered by enemies at the time (with the exception of Gordan), trapped inside their confined territory, yet he isnt giving a dam or holding back in the slightest. An absolute masterpiece of a scene. From the moment they had an unconcious Batman on the table, to when he woke up and chaos ensued, all the way to this. This one blending realism and fiction together so well that it become more relatable and believeable. Nothing too crazy but not boring. The most important thing is Batman is not perfect like in other movie or comic. He is still a human. He feels fear, make mistakes, and no too all-purpose gadgets. Great comment I agree although sadly the comics have taken a completely different direction. It seems Batmans limits have receded to the point where he’s basically Spider-Man. He’s kicked a tree in half without wearing the suit! He’s ripped doors of a jet whilst in flight. A JET!! and he’s held his breath in space for less then a minute.
Man simplicity has gone out the window.

A film with an excellent soundtrack, a perfect storyline, a great cast, great effects, and emotion, it was literally a masterpiece and an unforgettable movie, and I have nothing negative to say about it. Truly worth it, and can't wait for the future of this Batman trilogy!

My favorite version of Gordon to date. Loved the other takes too but Jeffery Wright takes the cake. He's a damn good actor and did a phenomenal job. Can't wait for The Batman 2! Bring on the Court of Owls.

People don’t like Batfleck because most comic book fans are effeminate men who can relate to skinny men who struggle with social norms, and like to hold the belief that an 150lb man can take on gangs of criminals unarmed but are afraid of roided up beasts like Affleck because it’s too masculine for them. In a more macho society like vikings I think Affleck would be idolised and the others would be looked down upon.

The power of this scene lies in the vulnerability of Batman. It's hard to watch that he is running away , and it feels unreal that Batman is afraid of heights but this is true Batman in making.

The scene right after this where Gordon says “Man U could’ve pulled that punch” the way Pattinson looked as he said “I did” was the final confirmation for me that I was in fact looking at THE Batman💯

The hesitation and the poor landing are nice indicators that this is a year two Batman. Also the events of this scene is the reason why Batman isn't called to investigate at Wayne Tower later on.
To the complaint he would not survive this, I say Rhody should have been jelly after falling in the War Machine suit in Civil War. It's a comic book movie based on a fictional character.

Aside from the end where he ricochets off the bus and lives, I feel like this is the most physically realistic protrayal of Batman.
He didn't just vanish when know one was looking, he had to sprint down the hallway.
Imagine trying to grapple up the height of a building. The acceleration would put so much strain on ur arm if not just dislocate it entirely. Pattinson sells the difficulty in holding on to the grapple gun.
The glide omg. I've seen those extreme gliders in real life and they go fast! It's not like the Arkham games where u glide gracefully ahaha
This was my favorite sequence in the film

As fake/light as it seems, from moment where The Batman hit the cab, rolling on the side walk till standing up, it was not CGI, or not entirely. A stuntman really made that fall. Props for the film's level of dedication to practical stunts
