I've been really wanting to get into aquascaping, and this was definitely inspiring!
First time ever I see a fish been shipped! Cool project!
haha yeah it just cuts out the middle man.
First betta I ever got was from a Petco but I’m just not the biggest fan of the conditions those stores keep their bettas in. So I did some research and lots of people had good things to say about this place and how they care for their fish :)

I always had a beta fish growing up. I miss having one 😢 this was a really nice project and I like how it turned out with the plants :)

Almost fell down that rabbit hole as well 😊 nicely done
you may get a rubber tube that can act as hose to empty your tank. Get the bucket lower than the tank, suck on the tube to get the water started and let gravity do the rest☺️
The 12 gallon long is so shallow that I struggle to get the hose suction started with those types of vacs :(

I love how you switch up your content… keeps it very interesting. On a side note, you’ve given me some incentive to clean my tank. I clean it 👆a year, which visually isn’t appealing but my fish live waaaay longer, well over 5 years. But, your beautiful clean tank is inspiring so thank you. Great work! ☺️

I'm not a very knowledgeable fish person so this may be wrong, but I heard that sometimes when you get fish from stores they can be stressed out and underfed so they lose colour, and that if they were originally colourful, they get the colours back when in a better environment. So maybe your fish is super happy now and that's why he looks a little murdery now. 😊
You are correct that fish can lose color when stressed but color back up once they are happy and feeling safe. As for why he looks murdery... bettas just kinda look like they're always irritated / angry lol

best name for a beta fish: Betamax.
Very cool project, I have just one suggestion. On the light stand for the long tank, you might want to reenforce the miter; they’re not the strongest joint, especially if there’s any weight on it. 2-3 brad nails or screws on the side facing the wall, or splines if you’re feeling adventurous. Fish name suggestions: rain (short for rainbow), sherbet, or sorbet. My 2 cents.
Appreciate the suggestion and honestly love the name sherbet... that's a contender for sure.

L brackets screwed into the light stands and the top of the tank stand.
