My buddy julio brought his beautiful LTR450r to the garage today for a little maintenance! Funny story i built this engine back in 2016 he rode this machine maybe 2 times since then and had noticed a small oil leak under the engine! We dive in a try and fix that along w a couple of other small items!

Im glad you did. This is my buddys machine i actually built the engine years ago. She is still running strong back when i built it i really wasn’t doing videos sucks this was a good one.
Sweet LTR, there's more money in suspension than I paid for my used '05 YFZ lol. Never knew that black box was where the battery is located, thought it was the ecu.

Ya the battery is in a weird spot for sure the ecu is under the front fender!
LTRs are sweet sport quads! Hard to find. I'm a YFZ guy all the way but I am a Suzuki fan!
Maxima Pro Plus is excellent oil! I use in my YFZ450R & Raptor 700R-SE. Love it.

The ltz’s are great quads! This thing is a nice machine as well id love to have one someday be cool to grab a nice project bike and build it!

My buddies has one these for sale. Is this a good quad to get started on? Thanks for advise I'm trying to figure this all out and see what all I have to do and get it done.
They are great quads but keep in mind if you want to race xc with it you will have to narrow it up many companies stopped making after market parts for the LTR. So getting parts for it might be hard.
@@ononewheel7 thanks for the advice I'll prob stick to my original plan build. Honda trx450r it's always been a dream of mine. Love this quad every since I rode one.

Its a beast man! I rode it after i built the engine that thing is a ripper! No expense was spared with what went into that engine and head work!

This is a friend of mines. I built this engine for him 3-4 years ago its a sweet setup.
Jhon i have a problem with my LTR ,.
I put 1200 ml of oil in the tank and 400 ml in the clutch, I turn it on for 3 minutes and let it cool. But the dipstick doesn't show any oil, what could it be? I would appreciate any advice
That does not sound good did the oil pump idler gear blow out?
I have to check it to see if it broke it, but I did the oil and the tank remains empty, it's as if it went away immediately

I’d definitely change that oil pump seal if I pulled the cover I just put all new pumps in my motor
Which seal are you referring to?
The owner had new orings but he actually swapped those out on sunday as he forgot to bring them! Internally this engine is brand new!

The one that goes on the oil pump that seals up against the case I call it a seal it’s the one the oil pumps through

After i put the cylinder head etc ready to start, the very first and second cranked it will stuck! Like it won’t the crank won’t turn. And the more i I tried to turn it over the harder will get to start. And I’ll remove the starter cover to see if the gear closer to the gear behind the flywheel still turned free, but its stuck. Then ill have to remove the flywheel cover off to free it up again. Not to mention since its got stuck it will drain the battery quicker. Please lmk
Did you just redo the top end? It almost sounds like the crank is binding?
Bought it from a guy saying it runs b4 tear down. Wasn’t running when i got it. And yes i did remove the cylinder head and everything looks ok. Any idea what’s going on with it?
Remove the spark plug
And turn the engine over w a socket by hand on the flywheel see how that feels if its the crank it will bind at some point while your turning it over.
You should get a ltr for the channel and build it 👌

Can you give me a tip on breaking in my brand new 450r, and what oil type do you prefer over the other, thank you!
I just do a few heat cycles let ut run for 15-20 minutes then let completely cool down and do it again! First ride i will try to stay off the rev limiter for 30 or so minutes after that its full send! Change the oil also after the 1st ride and inspect the plug to check how its running! I use blud lubricants its good stuff! Use my code ononewheel7 and save 25% off your order!

@@brianlefebvre5020 i run 15/50 but thats just me! I talked w blud and told them about my build and clutch setup and this is what they reccomended

Now and days yes bit it seems its the same for all quads now!
What fuel pump is on that? Or is that a cover?
Just a carbon cover
why don't they use these machines in GNCC anymore?
Some people do but not many! Its getting hard these days to get parts for them!
@@ononewheel7 thanks for answering, it’s true, they haven’t been manufacturing for a long time, here in Portugal, you probably don’t know, but there is a great passion for quads and the Suzuki LTR is still the most popular Quad, I even have an Instagram page called suzuki_ltr_portugal with more than 250 LTR'S, all Portuguese, for a small country like ours, there are enough and I haven't posted even half of the ones here. We love Suzuki LTR
Oh that is awesome i will have to go check it out and follow it! They are popular here as well but no so much with racing but more with just people who have them!

Some guys run the crf450 in the ltr its a nice setup if i ever got one thats what i would build!
