- Tinapa is a special smoked fish that is made in different areas of the country. In Lucena, Quezon Province, Restituto Ferrer and his family have been making Tinapa since 1974 and is regarded as the pioneers of this culinary art form. Making tinapa is a slow and intricate process that requires patience and expertise in order to make a consistently good batch of smoked fish.
From the Ferrer family’s small factory, their Tinapa makes its way to nearby towns, where regular customers await their usual orders to enjoy in their homes. Join us as we document the full process of making Tinapa!

This is why FEATR is the best travel and food vlog in the Philippines. Real quality content. No one even comes close.
❤❤❤
I second that!
true 👏
Agree
Underated
Contents that highlight our country's culture and heritage has always been the best thing about this channel.🎉
Thank you!! 😊
This makes FEATR different from other content creator.
This is no longer a regular vlog. It now shifted and levelled up to a credible Documentary Channel with Quality Content that highly valued the Philippine culture and heritage.
Keep it up! Mabuhay Filipinas.
💪🇵🇭.
This is the best tinapa! Hindi malansa, hindi mabaho, and the fish glistens. Ang linis din ng palengke nila. hehe
ganda ng videography ang color grading 👏🏻
On behalf of all Quezonians, specially in my hometown Tayabas, Thank you for showcasing our small yet underated city❤❤❤ It's the first time that somebody has highlighted our local cuisine, lifestyle and tradition at this level for everybody to see aswell to explore. Now if everytime I'll be asked where i come from, im showing them this Quezon series. Thank you very much FEATR❤❤ proud tayabasin from New Zealand🇳🇿🇳🇿🙌🙌
Erwan makes quality vlogs about food , culture, traditions of Filipino, its history and its relevance..thank you erwan and featr.😊
This is my favorite for many years. It's less salty than Tuyo and the smoked taste is yummy.
FEATR never disappoint, always raw and focus on the main subject with classic background music makes this the best food blog on the Philippines.
"gymnopedie" is the title of this classical
The Philippines cuisine is on the upstart on the global scene and FEATR is one the forefront, giving these less known Filipino food it's well deserve spotlight. This also give the locals the much needed boost for their product and give the rest of the country the sense of patriotism, and the appreciation of our very own local cuisine.
Proud to be a Lucenahin. Our tinapa is really the best. Thank you FEATR for featuring this.
pinaka favorite ko na tinapa yung bangus sobrang sarap

Camera works, editing, musical score, and story telling are improving with each new episode.
I LOVE THIS FOOS SERIES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FEATR!!! ❤🎉😮 IT'S SO INSPIRING!!!
Not Lucena, but I am reminded of my grandmother bringing me to a small tinapahan in Calauag when I was young. Also, nice touch adding Gymnopedie#1 as background music.
I remember when I was small, my lola would always bring me to the market and at the very end of our shopping activity we would get this tinapa. I hope they keep the business alive so that the next generation would still enjoy tinapa :)
The best tinapa ever Ang gawa ng Quezon Province ❤
Market view, Lucena city is very near to our house.. You will know that you are in market view, when you smell smoke from the tapahan.. ☺️☺️Our tinapa in LUCENA city is probably the most delicious tapa i’ve ever tasted.. Indeed, this video is artisically .. World class, FEATR.. 👏🏻👏🏻…

My favorite ulam in the whole world ❤ I always choose tinapa over all other dishes, local and foreign. Fresh sliced tomato, steaming hot rice, 2 pcs of tinapa and I'm in heaven 😋
Artistically made! Kudos to the FEATR team.
Another great feature! 🙌 I enjoyed watching this, FEATR! It's so nice to see these side of things where businesses have rich histories and family legacies that extend beyond just being successful financially. This helps become a source of pride/motivation for them to carry on traditions/values that has been passed down through their generations... and it only adds a new layer of purpose/meaning to their business... it's not only tinapa, it's more than that! ☺️
PROUD LUCENAHIN SARAP NG TINAPA JAN AA LALO NA SA ALMUSAL SINANGAG AT ITLOG AY KATALO NA

This particular video about tinapa is so informative and interesting. I love tinapa myself. I hope I can travel to Lucena and purchase tons of this tinapa. Thank you so much, Erwan/FEATR. Very informative ❤❤
I found myself missing tinapa when I moved to Cebu. I used to live in Cavite close to Rosario where tinapa is also plenty. Now, I just buy online or yung frozen as grocery, pero iba pa rin yung fresh. As always, superb video Featr!
Thank you for watching and subscribing!
Sarap tinapa lalo na isahog sa laing, gatang pusong saging, hinimay pang sahog sa fried rice
Erwan's mission: Philippines'
Food diplomacy
Love the feature!
Kudos FEATR💪👌
Ganda ng content ninyo
One of my favorite food, freshly made tinapa ❤ how i wish i could taste the og taste of tinapa from Quezon
I only eat smoked fish when it's from Rosario, Cavite. Particularly, their Tinapang Salinas. But I would definitely try this Quezon's tinapa when I go there. Hopefully, it's equally as good as my favorite Tinapang Salinas.
Love smoke 🐟 😋
kakamiss yan tinapa fav ko hehe
Tinapa is one of my favorite , sawsaw s patis na May kalamansi at sabayan ng nilagang okra at kangkong

Feature About Taal"s Maliputo Fish, A Prized Delicacy Of Batangas.
Kudos sa buong crew ng FEATR, grabe! sasabihin ko sanang NETFLIX worthy pero mas maganda pa sa usual docu sa netflix to eh. (cinematography, color grading wise)
Salamat!!
I love the smell of Tinapa in the morning.
Hi FEATR! What a great story about Tinapa business. Maybe, you wanna try to know more about tinapa in SAMAR (Calbayog City - Ping-Pings Tinapa) Please try to visit and know more about different type of fish in making the TINAPA. You must try the different creation and taste of TINAPA flavor ❤️
Nakaka miss yung tinapa tapos may sawsawan na kamatis 😋 Dito kasi pag sinabi mong tinapa yung ibibigay sayo delata 😅
In Capiz they use sardines & bangus in making tinapa.. sarap eh prito muna ang tinapa bago kainin..😊
Featr is like travel time, i❤
Namiss ko na to kainin 😢
Kilan kaya ulit.
Quezon Tinapa is the best tinapa so far for me. Smoky, not too salty, not dry.
Freakin good cinematography.
👌👌
i FREAKIN love tinapa
Tinapa isa sa mga napakagandang pag preserve ng isda mas mainam payan sa toyo.ehhh malayo sa uti
I suggest they used bamboo strainers instead of those plastic crates 04:08 because plastic can leach harmful chemicals when it is exposed to a temperature of 65°C
i love tinapa.
I hope you FEATR other parts of Quezon😊
FEATR is similar to The international youtube channel Insider, great content
I love a particular smoke Taal herring or Tawilis tinapa. You can buy them in Bicutan market if you don’t want to go all the way to tagaytay every Saturday fortnightly. Real Tawilis can only be found in lake Taal.
Our house in Nueva Ecija have one of these in the neighborhood. I remember my mother trading bundles of newspaper for some tinapa.
masarap yan pag may kalamansi.
Salamat Erwan at Nakapunta ka sa Bayan namin 👍🙏 FEATR Lang SAKALAM
Thank you for the insite. I never noo
Can you list the gears that you are using? I am planning to start a blog like this.
Same procedure sa calbayog ng tinapa nyo, equally delicious
Daming Shabu jan sa Market View
That was cinematic! What is the musical score you used? 😮
Sarap nyan smoke fish isa lang napansin ko na kulang sa pagasan nila ilaw kasi ang dilim dapat maliwanag ang factory or facility nila.
kapitbahay namin yan ah
Love FEATR's vlogs.. just curious what does FEATR stand for?
Food, encounters and travel
NAKAKAGUTOM!!!
I can eat tinapa with garlic fried rice everyday!
The Vlogger and the Content.. FEATR it's the same with other it's just travel and foodvlog with quality but at the same time It's Different!! U know when u Know!😅❤
FEATR 👌
👌👌👌
FEATR is the best . No bullshit .
I love the content, history, and story behind the makers of Tinapa. What I disliked was that the narration was in English. Your interviewees were speaking in Filipino. You could have just added English subtitles for it. My point is to make the narrator speak in Filipino.
I want NETFLIX x FEATR series
How does it taste like?
✨
Try the Tinapa of Mercedes Camarines Norte 💯💯💯😋😋😋
😊❤
The best tinapa for me is in Samar
💪
tinatanggal ba ang laman loob ng isda bago ito itapa?
The best tinapa…
bro, try mo tinapa sa bikol. da best. grabe an umami. siram
Smoked fish...but no mention of what woods are used? Umm... 🔥🐟
It's not European smoked fish. The wood used traditionally didn't matter in Filipino tapa/tinapa. In fact, in the pre-colonial era they were just placed on racks (tapahan) over the cooking pit inside houses, getting whatever smoke is coming from the daily dishes. That is still the method used in the Cordilleras for etag (smoked pork) for example. Similar to traditional smoked fish dishes in other parts of Asia.
It was a method of PRESERVING extra food so that they last longer. Using specific wood just for smoking fish would be wasting even more precious resources and defeat the point.
PAGKA TAPOS MA SMOKE KAILANGAN BA IPA TUYO ?
BEST TINAPA CAN BE FOUND IN CAM. NORTE
Magaling Pa Mag Document Keysa Sa GMA, ABS AT TV5 Ee.
I love tinapa!
But, pls correct me. Sa plastic po pinakuluan yung mga isda? Very bad for the health ang plastic na nainitan, it will release highly carcinogenic chemicals.
May fb page sila?
R A P S A ! ! !
😋😋
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
