Hi! I'm argentinian, from Rosario, and I couldn't go because it was my daughter's 18th birthday that weekend. Because of inflation and high taxes to the imported products, we mostly can't access to the best brands, like aquarius for example, and that weekend was an unique opportunity to try art supplies that nobody sells here. Filgo is relatively new, affordable, nothing special. Plantec is really big, mostly for technical drawings, but lately they incorporated more arty products, like acrylics and mixed media paper, etc. But is a shame that one of the biggest companies, that produces their stuff nationally, were absent. Alba makes paints for student to profesional quality, even house paint. I don't know. And one last thing: neither tea nor mate have caffeine, only coffee does. Tea has teine, and mate, mateine. All three stimulants are very different in the effects. That's why I love my mate. Anyways, I hope this socialist policies are erradicated soon. I want to try aquarius watercolor at affordable prices for once
I'm so sorry you didn't make it! But congratulations to you and your daughter! In Canada we just started getting Roman Szmal products in the last couple of years. I love them and they are a lot cheaper than other European brands. You confirmed what I thought about Filgo and Plantec. I have to say I love the Filgo pencils and others have said the same. I didn't get any of the Alba paints mostly because I didn't want to carry liquids. I think I saw the brand when I was in Mexico at the beginning of the year. As to tea and mate I'm afraid I have to tell you that they do indeed have caffeine. I do drink a decaf orange pekoe black tea. And of course herbal teas do not have caffeine. Black tea and green tea do. And mate does have more caffeine than tea. I have a heart arrhythmia problem so I can also tell if that "decaf" coffee is really a regular coffee. "yerba mate contains about 80 milligrams of caffeine per cup -- almost twice the amount in black tea but less than half that of coffee, which usually contains 100 to more than 200 milligrams per cup." www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2009-mar-16-he-nutrition16-story.html#:~:text=If%20that%20is%20true%2C%20it,than%20200%20milligrams%20per%20cup. Because you are sipping it, you probably don't get the same hit of caffeine.
@eileenreillyarts1229 wow! I'm kind of ashamed that I don't know my national beverage! Apparently, mateinne doesn't exist, eventhough that is what we learn since we were kids!! Recently studies confirm what you said, that the stimulant present in mate is caffeine!
OMG I need one of those little palettes!
Some nice lil gifts. What is the green Roman Szmal colour again please?
It's Aquarius Green. I have colour charts for all of my Roman Szmal's on my website www.eileenreillyarts.com/artsupplycolourcharts
