    THANKS!!! This has finally made the S.M.A.R.T. acronym clear to me. I have used it vaguely before when aiming to achieve goals in the gym, but never been able to apply it to other areas. Hopefully I'll make an Achievable plan using it now.

    Hi
    I don't think anyone really understands SMART. It seems like someone was looking for an apt acronym for rules on setting objectives and tried to fit these rules to the acronym. No one no knows what the 'A' and the 'R' really stand for or represent. Is it 'achievable' or 'attainable', 'realistic' or 'relevant.
    Perhaps it would be an idea just to ditch this acronym all together.
