First time I see a Car And Driver review: Very pleasant review. Not screaming, not speaking loud, not overreacting, going through the car smoothly, giving all the necessary details. Good job.
A warm welcome to Carlos to C&D! Have always loved him at MT and Edmunds. His approach here feels very subdued, almost sleepy, but it's still a great presentation.
Sleepy? I find him well spoken and professional. We’re so used to RUclipsrs who most of them are not professionals or qualified to even be reviewing cars!
@@angelo3353 The engine works as a generator and has 185 bhp, howmuch the electromotor has of bhp i don't know but combined its around 212 bhp. The more powerfull the engine (generator) is the more electricity it can generate. As the battery only has about 3km to 4km of range the engine constantly switch on and of as the battery gets lower. I have now 144.000 km with my CRV and use the peddle constantly so i get alof of regeneratif braking as i don't do alot of highway and because of that and my economical drivestyle i still use the same brake pads and my fuelconsumption is about 4.8 to 5l/100km wich is about 50mpg and that's very good for such a big SUV. I work as a taxidriver so the engine is also constanly warm therefore has a low fuelconsumption. Ppl who only do short trips with a cold engine will never get these numbers.
Looks good and should do well to keep it among the top in the segment. Though a panoramic roof, or a slightly larger than standard, option would have been nice
An pano roof here in Texas when it got up to 109F is horrible. They seem nice but really arent the best in hot places and they tend to cause less head room. More head room for tall ppl > over just looking pretty.
An impressive update, but I think Honda missed the mark a bit. The CR-V needs a heads-up display, bird's eye view camera, pano roof and digital dash to keep up with Hyundai, Kia and others. A missed opportunity to make the CR-V really class-leading.
The CR-V needs these features to make it class leading: -ventilated front seats -heated rear seats -full digital gauges -led rear turn signals -led fog lights -360 camera -panoramic sunroof -sliding rear seats -tri-zone climate -2.0T engine w 252 hp 273 lb ft torque -power folding mirrors -driver lumbar support
I have loved my Civic and Accord over the years, but I’m really disappointed that Honda just seems to ignore the constant complaints on interior noises. Are they ever going to address this shortcoming?
@@senorgato70 No one drives their honda's around cones. That handling excuse has gotten too old now. Hondas are noisy because they are clueless about road noise control.
I like the looks but I need a flat cargo floor as in previous generation and removing the levers was a step back. Hopefully the new Pilot has a flat floor I need - otherwise no Honda for me....
Last night 10/08/2022 I was at the local dealership in California and they would not budge on 2022 Hybrid Touring. It was priced at $42,400. Salesman told me don't be surprised if 2023 goes above $45k. I bought my 2014 Volvo xc60 3.2 with 40,000 miles in 2018 for $18k. Today, I have 85,000 miles with zero issues. After test driving brand new CRV, I can honestly tell you my Volvo drives much better, it's much safer, and has a much more comfortable seats. I told my daughter that I will buy her a Volvo XC60 for half the price. Believe me, CRV's are too pricey for what they offer.
Update, I just bought a 2015 Volvo XC60 3.2 with 59K miles for my daughter for $20k out the door. Its less than half the price of the 2022 Honda CRV Touring Hybrid at the local dealership. This Volvo rides like a dream and honestly, it gorgeous and luxurious. I will never, ever look at Hondas again.
Great review! So much better than "funny" Micah from KBB and "hands" from raiti rides. Thanks! But good luck getting one any time soon. Dealer told me another 1-2 years before the market is "normal"
March 12, 2023 Been watching all videos re new CRV’s and other 2023 SUV’s. I bought one. EX-L-non hybrid. The car sits higher than my 2007 CRV. (Not an improvement IMO) The leg room statement is a lie. If you want the seat on the floor, then you have a bit more room. I’m 5’6”. Have long legs and short torso. To get proper leg room, I am sitting on the ground. I had proper leg room but was able to have seat higher for better visibility. I do not enjoy sitting low in any car. Tires are bigger. Came with Bridgestone’s and an aggressive tread. Car warbles across lane. Not a smooth ride. My guess is if it was a Continental True Track low rolling resistant tire (less aggressive tread) it might ride better and get better gas mileage. Getting about 26-27 mpg highway on “Econ”. Not the advertised 27-32 mpg. The interior: not designed (as the 2007 seemed to be) for the busy mom with children to tote everywhere. Only storage area is the center console. 2007 had center tray, 2 glove compartments, small change bin at base of front panel near the charging outlet (formerly known as “cigarette lighter) and one to left driver’s side under side mirror control switches. None of those exist now. 2023 center console too deep to find anything.. Side door pockets too small. Seat belt placement: even at lowest adjusted level, the shoulder strap cuts into the carotid on your neck. To buckle the belt in, you have to be a contortionist. Too far back on side. Not at hip joint area. More like where your buttock hits the back of the seat. This is just the tip. So why did I buy the 2023 CRV? Because I LOVED, LOVED my 2007 CRV. I loved my 2001 CIVIC. And my husband LOVED his 2003 ELEMENT. I trusted @Honda to build another great car. I wish I hadn’t. It’s got 887 miles on it. If I could return it and get my $41K back I would. But for now I’m screwed.
I was interested, until they said, turbo charged... I am only interested in naturally aspirated, non hybrid vehicles. I also prefer a traditional 9 or 10 speed automatic transmission.
I need around 37 for a decked out CRV (wife) and probably 45 for a decked out Passport, damn! I need to make more money.🤣🤣.I hope Honda offers a dark camel colored interior with a red, green or a deep blue exterior. I'm tired of white, gray and black is really hard to keep clean. My black leather interior in 100 degree weather...gets a little toasty.
Being a Honda 2018 crv owner I wanted to buy another one, but... If you want a fully loaded crv you have to go hybrid and awd. No Bose system in any other trim... 40k+ and doesn't even have ventilated front seats, 360 degree cameras, panoramic moonroof, heads up display, heated rear seats. I mean seriously. And they will make 100 of them. This is the worst value proposition in any vehicle in automotive industry, by so very far... I still love the car, but at 34k otd max. Good luck Honda...
