(29:57) One thing that happened at Elmo Siding is that CSX train #Q606-07 crashed a Biloxi Transit bus @ Biloxi, Mississippi. Four passengers on the bus died that night. Oh, no...!
Awesome video of the train action in Mobile, Al. I my live in Pensacola, Fl. east of there on the CSX P&A Pensacola sub division and the CSX Gouilding Yard is here.Keep up the great work and be safe.
+Paul Perrottet Thank you very much. It's very nice down there. There are some great railfanning spots along those lines. What I like most is the variety of trains and power that one typically gets to see there. And there is CN... I contemplated traveling to the north during my break, but well it's still chilly there :) So I decided to go south again.
MB I caught a CSX double stack just out of Carlton and the lead engine was a Louisville and Nashville heritage unit but I didn't get the chance to film it
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. THERE ARE MANY THINGS TO LIKE IN THIS VIDEO. I LIKE YOUR NIGHT SHOTS VERY WELL DONE. NICE CATCH ON THE MILITARY TRAIN LOVED THE SHOTS GOING ACROSS THE BRIDGE GREAT JOB. THE CARS ON THE END OF THE MILITARY TRAIN WAS THAT AMMO. I DEEPLY APPRECIATE YOUR WORK THIS WAS FUN TO WATCH. I'M ALSO HAPPY YOUR DID SOME CHASE SHOTS
Fantastic video, looks like the place to be. The Q606 looks more like an autorack train then a through frieght on that particular day. Have you heard that CSX has dropped their idea of DPU on the trains from Waycross to New Orleans?
(47:11) The clock is ticking! CSX manifest Q617-07 from Atlanta to New Orleans with ALL standard cab engines on the head end (SD50-2 + SD40-2 + SD40-2 = SD130-2).
Yes, that applies to the lake of the Biloxi Bay, and cars, trucks and buses cross Highway 90 across the Biloxi bay bridge towards Atmore. Also, nice chasing the military train with UP power to the Bay Bridge, because some boats in Biloxi Bay have to wait for trains to pass before going towards the Alabama State Dock. The Biloxi Bridge does offer a huge bridge known as a "Lift Bridge" or a "Swing Bridge" where the big ships have to wait for these trains to cross the bridge before heading back to the ALSD (Alabama State Docks) towards the MS/AL border. Am I right again?
I think I can identify the former owners of those two MSE diesels. The 68 (GP50) was a Chicago & North Western diesel (the bell on the nose is a dead giveaway), and the 65 (GP38-2) may have been built for the Frisco (St. Louis - San Francisco) because some of their units were known to have a light mounted high up on the nose in the same position as the bell on the GP50. If anybody knows the true heritage of that GP38-2, don't hesitate to correct me - I'm only guessing...

Many thanks!
Great catches. Great work putting this together. Excellent video.
Nice, thank you. It was indeed a good bit of effort to put the many pieces together... Glad you like it.
Great video, highlighting an area that I have never been. I especially liked the night shots and the rain-soaked trains. keep up the good work.

excellent video really enjoyed it
Thank you very much!
Very good video,enjoyed it.
Awesome, thank you!
looks like a great place to railfan..enjoyed the variety of trains.thank you for sharing!
It is indeed a nice line to watch interesting trains. You're welcome!
CSX 230 was involved in a fatal collision in Biloxi while going Northbound on the NO&M. They struck a bus that got stuck on a crossing
It's mentioned in the video and shown is a shot of #230 at St. Elmo after it had happened that same day.
That's OK, it's just Q606-07 crashing a bus at Biloxi. 4 people died in the CSX-Biloxi Transit collision.
MB I caught a CSX double stack just out of Carlton and the lead engine was a Louisville and Nashville heritage unit but I didn't get the chance to film it
Nice, do you mean the L&N sticker unit CSXT #323? I saw it couple weeks ago at Harper. The train you saw was probably Q194.
mbmars01 yes and this was the first haritage unit I have ever seen and I regret not filming it
The sticker on those units is so small that I sometimes don't even see it when I'm filming and it comes as a surprise when I produce the video lol.
You are a good man to be railfanning in a downpour like that. Great video.
Haha, that's funny. Railfans know no limits... Thank you!
mbmars01 If it's for the right stuff I know no limits. When are you planning to make your next trip to the Mobile area?
Lol, I understand. As of now, I haven't yet planned another visit soon.
mbmars01 If you were here on a weekend I would love to railfan with you some. Usually college keeps me busy during the week.
Great catches! I caught the same trains at 4:56 and 6:52 in Gulfport, MS with the second train showing up hours before the first one.
Thank you! They had probably a more impressive speed when you got them.
I caught them at the Gulfport diamond. The CSX leading train was eastbound so obviously I saw that one sooner
Nice video! I enjoyed every single bit of it!
Thank you! That's great feedback and therefore the work was worth the effort :)
great video like always
Thank you, appreciated!
Great video. Cool trains
Many thanks!
Good stuff as always!
At the 16:10 mark, that crossing signal sounds like someone beating a pot with a spoon!
Cool, thanks. That's how it sounded like lol.

You're very welcome! I'm glad you like it. Chasing trains is not easy on this line because of the high track speeds (typically 60 mph for freights).
Great video and catches.
+Nicola636128 Nice, thanks!
Nice catches of the trains.
Thank you!
mbmars01 Your welcome.
EXCELLENT VIDEO LOVED IT
Oh, that's so nice. I'm happy you like it.
nice video great catches
Thank you! I'm glad you like this video.
Good afternoon mbmars01 great video and stories I saw a cn in the back ground
Good evening! Nice, thanks. Yep, CN operates a small yard in Mobile AL.
Fantastic video, looks like the place to be. The Q606 looks more like an autorack train then a through frieght on that particular day. Have you heard that CSX has dropped their idea of DPU on the trains from Waycross to New Orleans?
Thank you! Indeed, this 606 looked a bit unusual. No, I haven't heard it. Hope it means they generally run shorter trains.
I'm not in favor of the DPU concept because it allows for CSX to make a really long train but not have as many trains in general.
I agree! From a railfan's point of view more trains are better than less anyway.
sweet CSX, MSE, KCS, UP, NS, CN, AGR, TASD, & BNSF nice. sweet catches. sweet on W810-08 with UP loco's.
Wow, didn't know there is so much in it lol :) Glad you like it!
cool catches nice video
Awesome, thanks.
will the Panasonic V550 have the pounding effect as the horn goes by like it does on your current one
Hey! Mobile is my hometown. You should railfan it again sometime!
That's awesome! Yeah, I would definitely like to visit Mobile again some day.
cool video
Thanks.
Nice shooting. :D
Thanks!
Awesome
Cool, thank you.
Sweet man 👍👍
+Train lover 101 Thanks.

its actually 138.5... and we use 139 as far as tickets/reporting go.
Some of those trains are what you catch locally to you
You're great! That's true. Q614 runs from New Orleans to Hamlet on these lines and Q619 does it in the opposite direction.
@mbmars01 Highway 90 crosses the Biloxi Bay on the bridge.
That's actually an impressive bridge.

what is carried in those weird looking tank cars

MSE 65 was bought new by MSE.
Seems like a lot of complex choices to film. All well done.
It's definitely an area that offers a lot of good photo opportunities of various kinds.
