I love how you guys grooved out and let the song play through and left comments till the end! You guys should watch Big D and the kids table - Shining on. The music video is a continuation of this song with the band waking up after the party. It’s my fav by them 🤘🏽
From Boston my ska band Plan 17 used to play with them Steve Foote recorded one of our albums great guys truly down to earth and helped out the Boston punk ska scene with Fork in Hand Records
I really like Big D and the Kids Table. I got to see them live during their Halloween show last year and it was one of the best shows I've seen in awhile. I would give them another chance. I would recommend Hell on Earth next. After you've listened to a few songs from them you might be ready for L.A.X. which is probably my favorite.
I'll be honest, it's a Big D song I hadn't listened to in a long time, but I saw them live about 3 or 4 days before the May Pat picks came up and this song is so fun live! I'd have definitely picked a different Big D song before then. I also only picked the song because I forgot what my 3rd pick was going to be (I've stuck it in my June requests - Andy B, Frantic) 😂 Finally - the singer and songwriter in Big D is called Dave so I think you may have been onto something there! So cell to Joel for that
Also, I knew a few days after I picked this it would bomb because of the repetition! What I'll say in it's defence, is if you see them live you'll find this is the song you'll love singing along to (it's quite easy to guess half the words) 😂
I wasn't feeling this album when it came out and pretty much checked out of Big D. It's love to go see them again for old times sake, they put on a hell of a show.
@@BeersAndBeatsPDX sounds pretty much the same as me. Loved Good Luck and Gypsy Hill then felt it kinda went downhill after that. Saw them a few times around in the late 00s and they were playing really slow, reggae and straight ska and it was a long way from what they were. Saying that, they were really good when I saw them in April (probably only the second time since 2010) and they had loads of songs I hadn't heard before but liked. Haven't actually listened to any of the newer albums still though
I recommend y'all check out the Big D song Quiet Room from their 97' split with Drexel: Shot By Lamme. That whole album is fantastic, you wont be disappointed.
Love me some Big D and although I do love this song, I'd never suggest this as an introduction. It's, as you said, an ode to apartment parties. Its a little immature. "Good Luck", "We All Have to Burn Something", Try Out Your Voice", "Just an Idea", "LAX", "Doped Up Dollies on a One-way ticket to Blood", and off their newest album, "Too Much" are all more of what I'd consider quintessential Big D
I’m kinda surprised because I typically don’t mind repetition but this one kinda did. I think I agree with Joel that when one phrase is repeated that much it’s all I remember which kinda sucks because the music in this song was great. Cell to Joel on this one

Never heard that song before. I liked it! Really fun!

@@DabbaRanx Being from the Boston area would go see them every single chance we got ... up until How It Goes came out.

The lead singer/ frontman and song writer is David McWane. Big D does kinda stand for Dave.
I used to love Big D. Would see them damn near every month at the Axis or Avalon.
