The architecture style is called Baroque and it was present in all of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, just like Transylvania. That’s why Vienna, Prague and Budapest are so beautiful!

And of course Bucharest looks absolutely differently than Budapest, because that's a romanian city, with different history and culture, lot more damaged by the communism and the nature (earthquakes). The two capitol playing in different leagues touristically, Budapest is a premier league tourist hotspot - meantime Bucharest is a second league place, with much less visitors.
Geez, why does every travel blogger mess up our nations capital name. It is pronounced: Budapes(h)t, not pest. When you decide to go to a country, learn how to pronounce the names or at least apologize for not being able to pronounce it properly. So unprofessional. When I hear things like this, I don't trust your insights because you haven't taken the initial care to pronounce fundamental names and/or words.
It's always good to hear the Hungarian pronunciation, but I don't think this is a big deal at all especially because both are correct, they are just different pronunciations of the same word.
