I'll be honest - I usually roll my eyes at actors-turned-singers. But this? This is damned good. I love her timbre, her phrasing, and everything about her voice, honestly. She sings like she talks, with just a little hint of grit. Great choice of cover, too.

They may have been one hit wonders but Til Tuesday's catalog was great.
What About Love was also Top 40.
Til Tuesday had more than one hit, but aside from that, Everything's Different Now was one of the best burn albums ever written. Taylor Swift is good at that but Aimee did it first. And she was better at it. IMO.

@@annmarie4593 Though I can see what you're saying...this is still happening in 2024 so it has relevance. Art is not PC, it's self expression. You have no idea WHY this song has meaning to Kate, but it obviously does. She's a very sensitive soul, she's not tone deaf to the abuses of the world. It must have spoke to her somehow otherwise she wouldn't have covered it.

Not only is this the best cover I've ever heard of this song but it such an iconic 80's thing to add saxophone to the song. It wasn't in the original because that wasn't part of TIl Tuesday's sound. But it fits not only the song but the sonic landscape of the 80s'. My only criticism is that that very same saxophone takes away and actually replaces the original haunting synth part of the song which is actually the solo to the song. For me the synth pads and solo are what makes this song both ethereal and haunting. What is not in question is Kate Hudson. She...is...AWESOME !! Bravo !!

If you are born in a family who are singers you will always learn how to sing. She has a very Pleasant voice yes. But we all can learn how to sing even with Bad voices. Singing is teachable. For example justin bieber was extremy Bad. But now he is actually decent. Not great bit not horrible.
What an amazing woman coming from two amazing parents. So much talent in their entire family. It’s like living a dream.
