  • In this video I would like to show how I join 2 of my festool guide rails together. I show how to set up for use with my TS-55 and also show how I space the rails with the LR32 connector.

    1) 496938 LR32 guide rail spacer

Nice job. I am going to buy the TS 75 but there are a lot of complaints about these connectors on Amazon. It was nice to see the connectors in action to help me make an informed decision on my purchase.

You taught me something...didn't realize I could use the spacers in that manner to make an extension for the LR32. Thanks!

    Dave,
Thanks for your video lesson on connecting rails! It's well though out and is something I needed to see several years ago. This morning I finished taking notes on both sections and creating documents for my Festool binders that I can quickly reference whenever I need some reminders. Just what I need, Dave. Happy 2013! Mark

Use the makita joining kit. It fits the festool track and it doesn't damage the guiderail with dimples, unlike the festool joiner.

Very helpful video, just got my two 55 tracks (one for the LR32 system) and was wondering how to do this to make sure they are aligned. I was going to get the long guide rail, but opted instead to purchase groceries for the next two years.

Dave Lukasek check out the Betterley Straight line connector. Toolnut sells them. Makes the alignment dead straight.

What you do is somewhat unnecessary as they work very well without all the extra care you take. I have added five 1400mm rails together to trim the end of a roof overhang on several occasions & I get a perfect result every time. I've even used a Makita rail amongst them & the result is the same. I use a TS 75 which has the same footplate as it's smaller sister the TS55. My last job was with a HKC 55 ( 18 volt new Festool model); absolutely wonderful. Keep up your good work. Kind regards.

Great video, sir. I am thinking a plunge saw with guide rails may be a better way to go instead of spending $1800+ on a table saw. Love the shelf pin hole capability.

    Hi Dave,
Where did you get that 1080 rail with holes in I've never seen one of those before and would be dead handy for my mft. I own the 1400 and 2424 lr32 rails but would love 1080 one.
    thanks in advance,
    Ryan
